Can someone tell me what it means to have Progressed Venus Conjunct your
Natal Sun?
How long does this transit last?
Does it start befoe it is exact?
What are the likely advantages?
Thank you,
Heather

I would love an downloadable PDF option instead of having to wait 2-3 weeks
for something to get delivered not just because I want some instant
gratification -- it would save quite a bit of fuel, paper (if I don't print
it out on my end), and cost of shipping, so you might get more orders placed.
If you are worried about people being able to alter the PDF, there are
security features that you can add to the PDF so that there is no way someone
can alter the PDF. I, for one would place a lot more orders than the 2 I have
placed since I found your site. Cheers!

Hello, Astro team! I have been browsing astro.com for a couple of years and I
was very pleased when you decided to include a portuguese version of your
homepage. Unfortunately, you chose someone from Brazil to translate it
grammar and vocabulary mistakes are countless!...
For example, «sobrepujar» does not exist, do use «sobrepor» instead.

Alois adds. You make me sad, and you are not the first narrow minded
Portuguese or Brazilian who seems to hate the other variant of Portuges.
It is as if Americans would insist that we use only 'color', while the
Brits insist that only 'colour' is correct English. In fact, they never
complain but seem to accept our mid-atlantic mixture of English. Why can't
you speakers of Portuguese have the same relaxed attitude? What is the problem
with you? Get a life! Go out and
have some fun and bring some fresh ideas into your narrow mind.
My progressed Moon sextiled its natal position on March 25, 2005 as it had
done on January 3, 1978 - less than 27 and a quarter years earlier. The Moon
cycle is generally rounded to 28 days, the difference seems too much to blame
on leap years, then how come?
Thanks.

wechselte. Laut diversen Zeitungshoroskopen soll man erst ab dem 20. Feb. ein
Fisch sein. Woher kommt diese große Abweichung (außer, dass das vergangene
Jahr einen Tag mehr hatte)?

Any thoughts on the current aspect of Saturn opposing Chiron? This is
exactly on my 4/10 axis. now transitting chiron is exactly conjunct my natal
chiron in the 10th which is also conjunct the MC. my natal jupiter conjunct
the nadir, is now conjunct transitting Saturn . Thank you! .

I have a question about my natal chart as it computes on your site. My birth
time is 5:49 pm July 29, 1953. My chart places my sun, mars, pluto in the
7th house. I have never used this placement for my natal chart. Please
explain why this placement is different than usual.

In Extended Chart selection you can play with various house systems, which MAY

Hi everyone in and outside the website!!! While going through the feedback
notes, I came across Clay's question and I felt like answering to you from my
experience. After years of studying astrology, metaphysics and new age works,
I came to the conclusion that our souls choose our family environment. This
striked me at first, having gone through the premature death of my parents
when I was 7, but it made sense in an empowering and enlightening way.
In my first 15 years I was taken care of by three different pairs of parents
belonging to three different generations each. Even if I met my parents, and
had good memories, I have to honestly say that my father and mother figures,
the ones that have influenced me, the ones I have fought Independence war to,
the ones that you go through when analysing yourself under the Saturn's
return light, the ones I learn from how to see the world are to be found with
no doubt in the couple formed by my eldest brother and his wife.
I checked our charts sinastrically, and there are important connections with
exterior planets and the Moon's nodes that are quite easily found in
parent-child relationships. Don't know how you feel about karmic wisdom, but
maybe you could get your karmic astral chart done with that of your foster
mother, and get someone to interpret for you the signs if you can't do it
yourself. It is not just a nice and simple way out. Astrology can show you
the power of the ties that connect you with your foster parents, and it won't
be by chance that you happened to be the one for them and that made them your
parents at that moment in time.
Maybe your biological parents had to live the experience of their separation
from you as part of their soul growth process, but the point is that your
soul wanted to have certain kind of experiences and these are the ones you
are getting to move on and up. The rest , all of us, are just the
instruments, like this note I am writing to you now with the hope of giving
some light from my humble experience.
Best things in life escape all rationalism, sinchronicity seems to bring them
to us when we are ready.
Good luck and all the best

questions, and topics that would be interesting to start a discussion

I know you probably have been asked before ... will you add a forum page to

This interpretationof my Personal Portrait Text by Robert Pelletier,
Copyright © Astrodienst AG 2000, couldn't have been more wrong in its
interpretation aspects of my chart. It was laughable at places where it was
so wrong about my personality. The aspects were correct and so were the
chart calculations, but it was obvious that the intrepretations were of the
most general kind. I am an astrologer myself, have been one for about 40
years (I've been studying since I was very very young), have taught
astrology, and have done many personal charts both as a profession and
avocation. There were interpretations of some of the aspects that, for the
life of me, I couldn't recognize as any part of my personality. The
interpretations tended to be so bright and cheery - was this intentional? In
any event, I would never buy a product written by this gentleman, or take
stock in his interpretations. However, I have used this website for many
years, and find it one of excellence and insight. I have recommended it to
other astrologers who agree that it is a wonderful, resourceful site. Keep
up the good work, but get rid of Mr. Pelletier.

Dear Astro,
In regard to my previous post, it turns out that there WAS something basic I
was missing! While reading over an astrology book I have, I happened to
notice a chart detailing the speed of the planets moving through the zodiac,
and as it turns out: the moon is the fastest.
Um, errr, well ... guess that explains the large amount of moon activity! Is
this correct?
So while I'm here posting about moon stuff, can you tell me how to find my
moon nodes? How important are they to the horoscope?
Thanks,
Derek
Derek USA --- Sunday, March 27, 2005 at 07:30 Universal Time
Dear Astro,
Why is so much emphasis put on moon sign transits in your daily horoscopes?
I thought I was having an exceptionally moon-filled year or two but then I
realized that it was more likely that you all use a lot more moon transits
than any other type. I don't know much about astrology so perhaps I'm
missing something here but I would assume that, say, sun transits, or any of
the other planets for that matter, would appear just as often as the moon
transits, yet the moon is the one that is there extensively over and over
again in almost all my daily charts (I purchased a subscription and checked
as far ahead as I could and some behind). Again, I don't exactly understand
how all this works so perhaps I'm missing something basic, but from what I
can tell this seems biased. I would have bought a subscription at lunar
horoscopes.com if that's the type of horoscope I was interested in ...
Of course there's always a chance that I AM just having an incredible
preponderance of moon activity in my life right now -- I don't know enough
about astrology to deny it -- but I tend to doubt it based on the length of
time involved. Anyway, please fill me in!
Ele-moon-tarily,
Derek

Hi Erik!
I don't know that L. Gardner is famous for being a 'historian'. What he is
famous for is bad translation, misquoting, inventing sources, fanciful
interpretation, claiming to be an expert in everything, and for confabulating
stories that are intended to support his claims that he is of the Scottish
royal line, due some insane genetic claims, ie. that humanity only became
human when aliens came down and concocted the 'first man'(Adam) out of some
genetic soup constituted of alien and neanderthal d.n.a.
That little tale is not original to L.G. but to Ephraim Levi, whose own
interpretation of the Torah (including the Book of Genesis), and knowledge of
ancient sources, is not worthy of all that much respect.
As far as your source for L.G's confabulations, Nexus magazine, well, Duncan
Rhodes is not all that respected either, for reasons that we need not get
into here.
My point is that you will not find any reliable information about anything
whatsoever, other than on L.G.'s grossly-inflated ego, in L.G.'s books. So, I
would not bother with tryiing to create charts on Jesus of Nazareth via any
source in any way associated with L.G. or, for that matter, Nexus. L.G. by
stating the 1st of March birthdate, is trying to tie Jesus in with 'the Ides
of March', which links his claims to being royal back to Julius Caesar,
etc...
I personally have a far greater claim than L.G. does to the various Scottish
houses, as well as several supposedly Templar lodges, including the
malevolent Knights of St John, who settled on the Greek island of Rhodes in
about the late 12th century. I don't invoke it because no person of any
credibility whatsoever would try to capitalise on royalist connections, as
all forms of monarchy are completely immoral. The guy is a charlatan from
beginning to end, and so are the persons associated with him.

I just lost my mother March 6th * 92 and can't seem to get her out of my mind

I did the astro click pop up. I was amazed how it described my mother's
character, her choices in life with this particular character and so forth.
I recommend this site to anyone who wants to get to really know someone. By
doing this I feel more comfortable with her passing as she was such a great

Hi Erik,
According to the famous astrophysicist Dr. Percy Seymour, the most probable
date of Jesus' birth is September 15, 7 B.C.
He bases this assumption on the triple conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn (3
times) in that year. I'm sure if you do a search under Dr. Percy Seymour, you
will find much more about this...

Jesus' birth is March 1, 7 B.C. One cite for that is at this link:

You have an ephemeris here for that year:

I've plugged the information in to create a chart, but the numbers seem
slightly different than the ephemeris, with Venus for instance. Is there a

Hallo!

about Easter traditions, especially the

The Easter rabbit and eggs, too, were associated with the

fertility...Easter itself gets its name from the Saxon Great Mother
Goddess of fertility Eostre and the word itself means spring...Eggs, I've
read in other sources, too, represent the
rebirth of earth, and are a universal symbol used in rites and
traditions...

I love the astro travel section as I travel a lot internationally - one thing
- where Pluto crosses pluto over polar regions and areas are sparsely
populated you don't give detailed analysis - HOWEVER!!! While crossing such a
point recently I witnessed the aurora borealis from a plane window having a
spectacular view for about twenty minutes - this was profound as I had a
stunning illustration of our planet being affected by the sun in a way that
few people get to see it. The shimmering curtain lit the ice cap beneath and
was majestic and humbling! I was reminded what a deeply beautiful system we
inhabit and how insignificant we are too. Very pluto!!

Reply to Maggy Cassen, and warning to Robert Clay
Dear Maggy, not a single one of is in any way 'programmed' by anything,
neither by biology, and nor by society, and certainly not by astronomical
forces to the exclusion of all others. (unless we allow ourselves to suffer
any attempt at indoctrination.)
We are biological creatures who interface continuously with the entirety of
the environmnent from the moment of conception. (Ever heard of a sun tan?) No
one knows enough about this to claim what you have claimed i.e. no one knows
the precise mixture that constitutes self-hood, and no one is likely to ever
know this on a universal scale, as each and every individual is born with an
individual body, and an individual location in the
space-time-matter-mind-continuum.
I have no idea why you entertain the thought that being told that we are each
programmed to experience life in a certain way is any way helpful. Fatalism
never helped anyone at all, because it obviates choice, and Robert Clay has
choices, some more compelled than others.
If charts are saying that Robert Clay would have precisely the same
experience of his biological parents as his foster parents, then burn the
charts, and not Robert Clay's belief that knowing his biological parents is
important. This is because knowing one's biological parents gives us the
opportunity to note similar biological characteristics (on the external side
of the equation), and similar biological tendencies (on the internal side of
the equation).
This important information, critical to the self-development of the persons
who deem this information important, is simply not to be had from foster
parents. To be able to know one's biological parents from birth and
throughout their life-time is currently a privacy issue that illegitmately
denies children their right to know. If this were deemed a right of the child
that was superior to a birth-parent's selfish desire for privacy, and the
illegitimate right to ignore their biological responsibilities, no one like
Robert Clay would have to suffer. The freedom to know our biological parentst
enables us to see our parents mature past certain psychological and
physiological tendencies, and change, as a consequence of choices they made,
and experiences they had.
Until you are capable of providing informed advice on such important matters,
you should at least have the integrity (intellectual and ethical) to say
'there is a theory that says...', but 'there is yet another theory that
says...' and demonstrate the flaws inherent with each position.
Robert Clay, now you have two theories to consider, and not just one facile
bit of nonsense. The best advice I can give is not to haunt yourself with the
'what might have been', and please remember that there exist unavailable
parents, biological or otherwise, for reasons that do not necessarily mean
that the birth-child was not, is not, and will not be loved. Just as the
decision to terminate a pregnancy is frequently made out of love for the
child, on the basis that either one or both biological parents, deems this
the most loving and responsible action they can take, so it is also with the
decision to foster out the child. Please do not feel that you were rejected
by your birth-parents, and certainly do not feel that I-owe-my-F.P's one, and
refuse any and all guilt-trips, including whatever ones you send yourself
on.
All the best
PP
Peace P h i l o s o p h e r Australia --- Saturday, March 12, 2005 at 06:12 Universal Time
Response to Edward Clay: Your astrological dilemma may be understood by
realising that your experience/relationship with the people who brought you
up (your parents in fact) would be similar to if you had been brought up by
your birth parents. At birth you are programmed to experience the
mother/father roles in a particular way - whoever fulfils those functions
will 'wear' your projection of mother/father. Though from your adult
perspective you may think there are huge gaps between your birth and foster
parents, what the chart is telling you is that YOUR experience of them on
such a deep level, would be almost identical. A baby when it is born, though
seeming helpless and only dependent, immediately tunes into perceiving roles
of those around it. As an example: generally speaking, if you have a positive
sun sign(Aries/Leo/Gem/Sag/Libra/Aquarius) this orients you to experience the
father as the power parent. Whichever father therefore raises you, you will
experience as the stronger parent in the relationship, whether or not that is
a fact to the rest of the world. It is only YOUR way of looking at the world
we are looking at.
As we grow up and become conscious we use our minds more and possibly the
gaps between your real and foster parents seem outwardly apparent - but the
chart describes your developing character which in your early years is much
more spontaneous and unguarded. So even though the differences may now seem
socially/educationally/culturally wide, the truth is that the father/mother
roles were determined by you and would've been absolutely similar. Hope this
helps.

Whereas I am entirely impressed by the work of Alois and Liz, there is no
other site offering so much high quality work, I recently purchased the
Psychological Horoscope and Transits package and found the work to be
outstanding as well as touching me in places that have never before been
considered nor understood, and as such have one important question with
regards to the report. In my unique instance I am the product of foster
parenting, that is adoption, and am having a bit of difficulty resolving the
parental background analysis. To which mother and father is the report
referring and could the analysis reflect this particular issue as it is
affecting me? There are considerable differences between my natural parents
and my foster parents. Thank you.

I think it would be very interesting and quite helpful if Liz Greene were to
do a relationship report specifically geared to parent-child (be it a
youngin' or an adult) relationships. Her Relationship Horoscope has been a
great tool and I think that such insight could be useful and certainly
helpful in that shared-by-all, never-ending parent/child relationship as
well! Thank you!!

I am new to astrology, and want a program which can tell my clients what
house Jupiter is in. and when. Can you help?
The transits of Jupiter.

Alois adds: My recommendation is: take a natal chart drawing of each person.
Look where the natal Jupiter is.
Take an ephemeris. Look where the moving Jupiter is. Then look at the chart
and see where in the natal chart this falls.
Because Jupiter takes nearly 12 years (11.8) for one orbit, it moves by
one sign per year, approximately. This makes it easy to guess where it will
be each year.
This approach will give understanding with the help of people's mind. No additional software needed.
You only need your eyes, a look at the chart drawing and occasionally at an
ephemeris.
my AC is in Capricorn,is that mean i am not a beautiful girl?
what has inflence in my appearance?please tell by sending me a email, thank
you !

I don't remember when I stumbled upon your site... it was many years ago. To
this day, it remains the best astro site out there. You ne'er fail to have
the detailed information I need. I am very grateful for all that you do
freely from your hearts.
Blessings and Light upon you with much gratitude! Rev. Lauren

Congratulations on what is seriously the best astrology website I have seen.
I am a recent student of astrology and find the reports fascinating. As a
Virgo ascendant, Jupiter in Virgo, and Sun in 6th house I am fascinated by
any studies done to analyse the statistical basis behind astrology and find
correlations with real life situations, and believe that just mrs gauquelin
did a stastitical study that identified so-called gauquelin sectors. I cannot
find any info on this, or books in amazon, can you point me to a website or
book? Thank you

A question about twins. I have a set of twins that I want to order horoscopes
for on their birthday. They were born only 15 minutes apart. Is there any
point in ordering two interpretations?
Karima P i j a n k a Vancouver, BC, Canada --- Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at 03:23 Universal Time
Alois adss: I am the father of twins as well. Please see the FAQ: general Issues - Twins for an answer
to your question.
For a time difference of 15 minutes it is quite possible that the reading
differs. The 80% discount we offer for the second twin applies anyway. But
you need to order both at once.
From time to time I feel the need to thank Astrodienst. The resource you
offer is reliable and a real constant source of good advice and life
guidance.
Thanks.

What are stationary planets? What do they mean?
And what is the exact interpretation of retrograde planets? How do we have to
interpret them? I have 7 planets retrograde, is that a lot?
Thanks! Nele
Was sind stationary Planete? Was bedeuten sie?
Und wie soll ich retrograde Planete interpretieren? Ich habe 7 in meinem

I am quite certain this is not the first time you have read this but you have
the best website, by far, on the internet relating to astrology. The
information you have available has been extremely helpful to me. I simply
wanted to say thank you!
I have been interested in astrology for many years. Believe it or not, the
very first time I became interested in astrology and how it pertains to our
personalities, etc., was when I heard Nora Hayden being interviewed by Alan
Berg, a talk show host in the Denver area. At that time she was promoting
her new book on astrology. I went out and bought her book. Since then I was
hooked. I now have quite a library of books. The more I delved into the
subject, the more I was fascinated. The information I have learned has been
a very helpful tool that I use in relationships with other people And
through reading up on my own sun sign and the other planets within my own
chart, I have learned more about myself.
We never stop learning in this field, do we?
Again, many thanks for such a helpful and interesting website. I applaud you.
