the chart that you generate from my birth data is not matching the charts i

other data/manual as well as computer programs in my country.Your calculation
shows a libra ascendant.

I wonder if you are listing all of the transits each day for the daily
horoscope. For example you mentioned a transit (sun in the 5th house)
yesterday that is supposed to last for several weeks, yet, it does not appear
today. Is this due to slight movements of the planets from day to day or do
you just list certain transits? Thanks.

In response to GG's question regarding astrology for pets...astrology can be
applied to ANYTHING - whether man or beast there will be recognisable
astrological quirks. Your question reminded me of a famous cat we had (famous
amongst astrologers who all came to see him in action!) - Jomo was born on a
New Moon conjunction of the Sun Moon in Taurus - a sign noted for its utter
and total devotion to food, surpassed only by it's stubborness.....one day I
put his food on the opposite side of the kitchen and he went totally
ballistic, lying on his back on the floor, thumping his tail, wailing....but
he would NOT cross the kitchen to eat it, he screamed until we all felt so
sorry for him we put it back in 'his' place. Needless to say this became a
party trick but it did demonstrate with total clarity the Taurean trait of
not bending, of loving routine and habit...things which all Taureans need to
maintain inner harmony.

There cannot be a reliable method of automatically knowing whether an

The world

dates after 1582. Also, many non-catholic countries accepted the calendar

Dear RB
That was sweet (Grüße is a German 'cheerio', disguised as 'grusse' by lack of umlaut and
that b-thing that is 's' times 2, side by side, but one above, and one below
- so grusse is not me!).
I have no problem apologising for being terse. Trying to get across that
spiritual does not mean being a door-mat.( I've tried and it does not work,
and almost killed me - I kid you not). Aristotle says that it is fair and
good to reply to an insult, with an objection. He considers anything an
insult that is not generously done.
The Ancient Greek word for 'Freedom' is Generous (eleutheria), and you
clearly understand this.
That Freedom is Generosity led me to pay for the groceries of the elderly
lady behind me at the check-out counter just 15 minutes ago, as she is
clearly generous (spreading Peace at check-out counters is a whole lot of
fun!). Anyway, we exchanged all manner of generosities, and about 8 people
got involved, including the lady behind her. All full of that kind of cheer
that simply does not arise out of anything other than generous moments, I
left.
I am fast, so, in about two seconds, I was in my eminently drivable but alas
not all that eco-friendly vehicle, when the lady behind the elderly lady
generously raced after me and waved me to stop. I responded with the
Crowley-V, to no effect. She just kept on grinning and waving.
Why! 'Cause I stole the elderly lady's generously received groceries, and the
lady after the now generous but know ack-blighted elderly lady, generously
came to rescue us all from my non-comp Robin Hoodism.
I think that this is a neat demonstration of why Aristotle called Freedom
Generosity.
Pass it on, and lashings of love
and thank you for biting back, I deserved it spiritually, and you had the
spiritual duty to remind me that I was failing to give Freedom. Aristotle
says that this is just one of things that friends do for each other - keeping
each other on the right track.
Generosity ain't the word for nothing left to lose (but I think that this was
Janis's point).

Ok, I checked out the Vip-astro-twin and noticed that almost all of my fellow
twins had very similar professions. They were all
politicians, writers, painters and military men, with a few exceptions. I
thought it was amazing that I shared my chosen occupation with so many others
born on the same day,
until I checked some of my friends charts and discovered that we all had
basically only politicians, writers, painters and the occasional military
officer or murderer born on our birthdays.
How come?
I thought it would be interesting to see if I would choose similar
professions and interests with my astro-twins, but instead all it shows is
that everyone has a politician, writer, painter born on their day and no
diversity in professions.

Christine, The answer to your question about the natal chart giving your
entire future, is an emphatic no in my opinion. Your natal chart is a map of
your life. I personally do not find prediction pertinent. What is does is
it describes certain fields of qualities you have come into this life to
encounter. Choice is everything. Two people can have almost identical
charts (ie: identical twins born at the same time under c-section, etc) and
yet their lives may be quite different. So it is the combination of the
energy fields represented by chart, your social environment, obviously
genetic factors, and above all choice which determines what happens with your
life. I like to think of astrology as a language and when used appropriately
it can lead you down a path of getting to know yourself on a new level.
There are many differnt sorts of charts you can look at to help you get a
grasp what may be going on in your life....all of which are based off your
natal chart. So #1 is to have an acurate natal chart. Next, I would suggest
getting your transits (you can order it on this website) and it will reveal
major themes for the year based on where the planets in the sky are now and
how they aspect your natal chart. Your children have their own distinct
natal chart. Get their's as well. My 2 boys are 4 and 6 and knowing what
their moon, mercury, venus signs are (etc) has been tremendous help in
learning how to communicate better w/their eclectic tempermants I feel has
helped me tune into being a better parent overall. If I may suggest as well
a few excellent books to start out: Stephen Arroy's Chart Interpretation
Handbook, Steven Forrest's The Inner Sky, and for understanding your kids
charts: Robert Hand's planets in youth and for understanding transits in
general: Robert Hand's Planet's in Transit. These are 4 essential books to
start out w/in my opinion. After you grasp the lingo, move on to any/all of
Liz Greene's amazing texts, some more advanced than others, but try to start
out w/books of hers like: Astrology For Lovers, and then perhaps the Inner
Planets. I have read every text by all of these author's and each is a
treasure to behold. One more thing, on this site, click on the link to your
left intro. to Astrol. and read the everything under the understanding
astrology section. Memorize the planet symbols, etc.......if it all begins
to make sense to you, I encourage you to then go out and purchase the books I
mention above. Best wishes to you on your journey. (btw-i used to know a
christina applegate in santa barbara in the early 90's.....were you there
then?)

I was wondering. I was born during war time. I've been told by some
astrologers, because of that fact, I must allow a three hour difference. My

If I allow for the three hour difference, it gives me a Taurus rising at 5

I have a question regarding transit times shown for my daily horoscope.
eg. Moon trine Venus - 05.07
Moon trine Mars - 16:06
Why are they listed this way and how should I be reading them? Does 05:07
mean 5:07 am or pm?, and does 16:06 mean 7:06 am or pm?
I'm confused as to what is am or pm and why you use the 2 methods of showing
time.

Hello,
Please modify your interactive chart interpretations to reflect actual
complexity of transits and birth charts outside any disclaimer, when there
are no planets apparantly in a house, a sign, and so on.
The interpretation always says, There are no planets in the [house, sign,
whatever], and therefore it is not important in your chart.
First of all, this is silly. All planets are important, and so are all
signs, although interpretations on degree might vary. Second of all, if
there are no planets, there might be nodes -- for example, there are no
planets in my Capricorn, but the South Node resides there. it's certainly an
important aspect, and for your interpretation to dismiss it entirely is
misleading.
Please modify it to be more accurate -- thanks, Annette

I was just wondering, can you please let us know which houses a person should
pay attention to when interpretting a transit's aspects. I usually just look
at the aspects, but say for instance that the Sun is transitting my 2nd house
and in an opposition to my natal Sun in the 8th - should a person interpet
that transit and aspect as affecting both 2nd and 8th house issues ... is
there any other houses to pay attention to here?I've never been able to find
much helpful info about how most astrologers interpret the houses affected by
transitting aspects (besides a typical description of a planet transitting a
certain house -- but not in relation to other aspects houses really). I've
usually just read to ignore the house issues and pay attention to the aspects
instead and planets involved. Is that right? Please answer this because this
will make my transits much more interesting for me to read here! :) Does this
make sense to you? I'm tired. Thanks so much!

Hello, I'm fairly new to your site and already I love it!
My question involves my selected daily transit for 02/13/2005.
The transit was moon opposition saturn, exact at 08:55 EST.
I also use Kepler ver. 7.0. Results in Kepler have always been extremely
close to the results I get on your site until now.
When I ran transits for that exact time, I got moon 26 Virgo 53' and Saturn
21 Cancer 35'. Not quite an opposition! :)
I then ran the transits for the whole day and compared them to
the rest of your list and they were ALL vastly different. The moon wasn't
even close to the correct house!
At first I assumed I either erred in data entry or the orbs I use were too
tight but then realized that even a 30+ orb wouldn't even come close to
correcting the difference!
Would you have any idea why that might happen? I certainly don't mind being
wrong but I'd hate to think that there was a glitch in my software!
Thanks for any advice!

Dear All
Hope all are having a marvelous year: some do seem to get a bit stroppy,
though.
How come abuse to the webmaster of a free site, RB? Rather think Alois is
pragmatic, a lover of the Razor, and not of fable. Such types tend to appear
to be smartasses to the low-brow, as many sages have noted over the millenia.
Hocus spritualists' demands have tended to be their common bane (see history
of human kind for your reference).
This next is mainly addressed to Chayyim Mayim (M.P.Smith I I I) of San Luis
Obispo CA, USA. Me thinks your rather dramatic predictions of George W. Bush
II's demise (political or otherwise) in 2004, versus Ronald Reagan's natural
death in the same year does not qualify as a 'prediction' . The failure is
both qualitative as well as quantitive: the premises of your argument do not
add up to your conclusion.
Furthermore, do you really believe the whole of the cosmos is about us? Are
we at the centre of the crystalline spheres on your world view, or do you
factor in such trivilaities as physics. As if the cosmos would bother
contemplating something so puny as the death or dislodgement of a New Roman
president. Hurrumph. Perhaps this is a lesson in not allowing wishful
thinking to guide our interpretations of otherwise quite clean data.
Follow the swallows, love, and not the fear move beyond the microcosm and
into the macrocosm.
Alois, enjoy the hemlock and please do send us any intriguing facts you

Guten Abend!
bezweifele).
Gruß

Years ago, in September of 2001, shortly after the American Trade Towers were
demolished, I published an analysis of the events here on AstroDienst, along
with a prediction for the life of President George W. Bush Jr. I noted that
President Bush Jr. is in office at the time of his second Saturn return, a
time which Mr. Grant Lewi, in his book astrology for the MIllions stated
brings calamity for American presidents, either death or impeachment loss of
office.
President G. W. Bush Jr.'s second Saturn return took place in Cancer, and was
joined in that sign in, June of 2004 by Mars. I predicted that this would
likely be the time that G. W. Bush Jr would meet his demise.
My prediction, perhaps to avoid international conflict at a time when
American politicians were making accusations of aggressive bahavior against
several other countries (although not specifically Germany) was deleted by
AstroDienst staff, although the space in the feedback for that time period
remains, along with a message that the content had been deleted. Perhaps
Alois remembers my original feedback...
The significance of my prediction was borne out in June of 2004, with the
decease of American President Ronald Reagan. I had predicted the death of an
American president, and indeed an American president (albeit a different
president) passed away.
Still, at the time that I wrote, (September of 2001) there were (to my
knowledge) only 7 living men who held the title of President of the United
States of America.
Jimmy Carter
Richard Nixon
Gerald Ford
Ronald Reagan (now deceased)
George Bush Sr.
Bill Clinton
George Bush Jr.
So, my prediction, though slightly in error regarding the specific man, was
extremely accurate in both time period (June 2004), and event (decease of an
American President).

Alois adds: It's a fixed star constellation which also touches the ecliptic.
It has no relevance in our astrology. Astrology does not use
fixed star constellations as a location reference. It uses abstract 30-degree segments of the ecliptic starting
at the spring equinoctial point.

Very interested in having a complete list of books written by Liz Greene on
advanced astrology. Any chance of obtaining reviews as well? I am also
interested in books by Karen Hamaker-Zondag. I must say that your web-site
has sparked my interest again in astrology.

It may be more effective to try amazon.com - they also have reviews for many
books.
Thank you for a wonderful web site. Recently I was looking at my daughter,
Erin, transit interpertation. I could see where her intercept was not given
any consideration. Could you explain to me how this could happen? Thank
you, Patricia

It would be great if you gave customers the option of receiving reports
on-line in addition to 'snail mail'. Do you have any plans to offer this
option in the future?

Hello Alois and the Astrodienst team,
I commend you on the accuracy of your astrocartography program. Yes, it
appears very general, having the title of AstroClick Travel, and at first
seems more like a brief holiday program than an actual relocation program.
But it is so much more. I moved to Ashland, Oregon in the autumn of 2001. My
stay here, over the last few years has, indeed been characterised by
Neptune/DC influences. But most importantly, there is also a Moon Crossing
Pluto line that runs through here, which I believe has contributed to much
catharsis, transformation and letting go of the past...Pluto style. I have
counted and listed a few dozen instances of cathartic episodes in the last
three years. The wounding and healing has been so deep and profound that I
have searched your program for other locations and decided, after much
deliberation, on Flagstaff, Arizona.
Of all the places in the world, Flagstaff offers a Venus/MC line, a Sun * AC
aspect, a Mars/Jupiter Crossing, a Mars *AC aspect and a Jupiter Uranus
Crossing. But here is the challenge. Flagstaff also has a Mars/Pluto
Crossing! So...here's to more growth!
Cheers,
Christopher

Hello Alois,
Thank you and the astrodienst staff for providing such a useful and
professional (free!!!) service for so many years. I have a question
regarding something on the site that I have wondered about for years, but
never bothered to ask: why is it that the synastry charts you provide lack
the detailed degree marks and aspect tables found on other charts? I have
always found them very difficult to read accurately for this reason. I
apologize if there is some obvious answer to this question that I am
overlooking -- I did a quick check of the FAQ and couldn't seem to find my
answer there.
Thank you so much for your time.

I wanted to know why my composite ascendent with my husband is the opposite
of what i calculated. His ascendent is 5Scorpio and mine is 23 Taurus. I
would think it should be Leo, but your calculations say Aquarius, Thanks.

Alois adds: Please compute also the composite MC and other house cusps.
Then draw up a chart. You then might notice the problem which forces the Asc/Desc
swap: if you don't swap, the Ascendant will end up at the wrong side of the
chart, and the house sequence does not work out.
Hello
I would like to know more about the 'Arabic Parts'. I have seen fleeting
mention of them in several books but no one seems to use them in depth,
except perhaps for 'Partis Fortunae'. What are thay and why are they no
longer in use.
Thanks - A.

You will find South Acron, Ohio.
to liz greene,
dear madam,
with all my due respect i have a few questions in my
mind, in your sample career report, you suggest a range of careers depending
on various astrological combinations.... however in real life these seems to
manifest themselves as problems due to the inclination of the mind into
various fields, career choices and stability in it becomes all the more
elusive, then how much can can your career report help and how. Personally a
career report that would gimme a 1-10 lines of answer would be great and
helpful instead of all the more confusing the matters.

To Hiroki Tanaka:
The answer to your question (my opinion only) is yes, the Midheaven - even
without a planet there - definitely makes a grand cross formation. This
assumes your chart is accurately timed. Your chart 'ruler' is Pluto (the
planet ruling the ascendant is the chart ruler) so it's dynamic connection to
Mars and Jupiter in the T-square is a highly significant aspect in your
personality and life. Even without a planet in the 'empty' sector of the
chart a lot of astrologers think of that space as a sensitive point. The fact
that your career point falls there means the planets of the T-square all link
directly into your career direction/ambitions/abilities. In fixed signs it is
a powerful set-up and one you should definitely be able to utilise in your
life. Good luck.

Whenever i try to do an event chart, it says it cannot do an event chart, and
if i put in gender it says that the person is too young.
what's a girl to do?
susie
toronto, canada --- Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at 14:44 Universal Time
Alois adds: You can do chart drawings for as many event charts as you like,
but you cannot run readings for them. We do readings only for persons (humans).
An 'event' cannot read, cannot think, cannot listen to advice and to stories.
This is why our authors don't write stories for them. They prefer to talk
to people.
An 'event' cannot be a user of astrology.
A bright girl should understand that ;-)
But if this is an event for yourself, run your own transits and/or
progressions to find out about the event date - what that date has in store
for you.
