Alois adds: I am afraid this is not possible for technical reasons. Web pages can be configured in such a way, that your browser will change colour on links you already visited. But this works only for websites where the content behind each link is frozen.Browsers look only at the URL for that memory purpose, not at the actual link text or page content.

In the daily horoscope, the content behind the link 'Yesterday' is different each day. It would be wrong to let your browser change colour of the link, because you read the 'yesterday' horoscope already a few days ago.

The same applies for the subnavigation of alternative transits, even when it will be less obvious to you. If you look at the link URL, not the visible text, then you will find that it says only something like 'third sub-item of today' or 'fifth sub-item of tomorrow'. It does not say that literally, but via some URL parameters like &sover=-5&hnx=1.

This link URL remains the same, but the actual content of 'third sub-item of today' changes every day. It would again be misleading if your browser changed the link colour, because you visited 'third sub-item' already some days ago.

There are various types of such calendars, and you can choose the starting date of each so that you can cover periods of arbitrary length.

Alois adds: You had visited www.astro.com on 1 Sept 2003 and entered your data. Your browser still kept a cookie remembering the session of your last visit, and when you revisited, the cookie enabled our server to reconnect you with the data you had previously entered.

You were lucky - the data expire after one year on our server, if they are not revisited. You can of course delete them earlier, via 'my astro'.

Alois adds: This situation has its origin in the history of Astrodienst. Founded in 1980 (incorporated in 1983), Astrodienst was an astrological calculation service for professional astrologers and astrology schools in the German speaking countries.

This was before the advent of astrology software and computers on the desks of astrologers.

Our customers were astrologers, astrology schools and students of those schools. We provided calculations and chart drawings. The astrologers and the astrology schools provided the explanations and the teaching about how to use those charts, diagrams and tables.

Later Astrodienst was transformed in an astrology service which provides excellent astrological interpretations for the interested public, the non-astrologers. Our specialist software for the various charts and calculation techniques was used less and less, because most astrologers have their own computers and software.

We have made our technical software accessible on the web via 'extended chart selection', so that those who study astrology can use it, for free. But our goal was never to replace the astrology schools who teach all these astrological techniques. It may be desirable, but we lack the time to write a series of astrology teaching manuals. It would be a very big and expensive taks.

Please, try to find answers to your questions in the published books that are already out there. After all, book publishers and authors must also make a living.

In terms of astrological advice, I recommend the reports 'Yearly Horoscope Analysis' by Liz Greene, and 'Transits of the Year' by Robert Hand. They will give you a good and honest perspective about what kind of emotional climate is ahead for you in the next 12 months (or any other period you choose for the report). But please be aware that no horoscope could have foreseen the terrible tragedy which happened in your life.

We once had a 'Child's Horoscope' sample report for George W. Bush on the website, but we took it off again. The problem was that our report presented him too much as a 'nice, soft and insecure guy'. This did neither meet the expectations of his popitical opponents nor those of his fans.

What politicians usually show to the public is a mask, which has little to do with the real person behind it. Too often they are controlled by others hiding behind the scene. This is why we love to present a personality like Teresa Heinz Kerry, daring to be herself even on the public stage.

Alois adds: An interesting story, thank you. There is that idea of the Collective Unconscious as a deep large ocean of information, very old myths as well as our current dreams, including information on the movements of the celestial bodies. In this melting pot of knowledge, the myth of Danae meets with the orbit of the minor planet named after her.

Our human souls connect again and again with this deep ocean, synchronising with it and catching glimpses of the knowledge which is there forever.

It is not surprising that you also connect - unconsciously - to this collective information when you make such an important step as a name change. You chose the moment to do so, and some people believe that our souls also choose the moment to incarnate and to get born.

I would not call any of this an 'effect' of the asteroid Danae, but consider it as acts of your uncoscious self, in synchronisation with data from the collective unconscious.

I cannot say this well, it is not really my field of expertise. You will have to read Jungian literature to learn more about this concept, e.g. C.G. Jung and Marie Luise von Franz.

Not all asteroids carry such deep meaning and myth. Some are simply jokes, near random name assignments due to a flimsy idea of their discoverers. There is an asteroid Alois, #3045, but this was only named after the grandfather of its discoverer, to honour him. I have not found that in my chart, asteroid Alois carries meaning.

Alois adds: No, the so called 'true node' is the north node. The orbit of the Moon dangles a bit on the sky, due to effects from the Sun. This is why the nodes of the orbit also move about in a rather irregular fashion. If we average this fast, irregular motion out, we get the Mean Node, traditionally used in astrology. If we don't average the fast oscillations out, the we have the so called True Node. It oscillates around the Mean node, differing usually by less than 1 degree from it, in extremis by 2 degrees.

Both, Mean and True node, always are the North node, where the Moon crosses from south of the ecliptic to the north of the eclitpic, i.e. the 'ascending node'.

At exactly 180 degrees opposite in the chart is the South node; you can use the Mean south node, or the True south node, as you prefer. Because is is simply at the same degree in the opposite sign, most astrologers do not draw the south node in their charts. The know blind where it is - opposite the north node.

Alois adds: We don't know more than you do. There is currently an 'inflation' of new TNOs (Trans Neptunian Objects) going on, i.e. new relatively big objects are discovered every year. They all move slow, slower than Pluto. Whether and how to read them in charts is still unknown.

There is also no need for hurry. The content of a natal chart is already rich and complex to read with the current 10 planets.

Let me use an example: If you visit Paris in France the first time and want to orient yourself in the city, it will be enough to locate the main features, the river Seine, the Champs Elysees, the Louvre, the Mont Martre, the Eiffel tower etc. You need not to now and visit every minor street in every quarter of the town, and you need not to bother with those new streets they are just about naming on new city development areas outside the city.

Even if you live in Paris, you will never in your life need to know the thousands of minor streets (aka asteroids). Even if they build a new boxing arena (aka Varuna) in the outskirts of the town and make some fuss about it in the media, but you are not interested in this sport, it does not concern you and you never should bother. Just because something is there does not mean that it has importance for you.

Alois adds: How can the Sun shine while your house burns down?

Alois adds: Danke für das Feedback. Ohne Zweifel hat auch die raffinierteste Computerdeutung ihre Grenzen, spätestens dort, wo eben das Geburtshoroskop nicht bestimmend (im Sinne von deterministisch) ist, sondern nur Potentiale und innere Widersprüche aufzeigen kann.

Jeder Mensch entscheiden im Leben in vieler Hinsicht dann selbst, ob er sich entwickelt, in welchem Mass er die verschiedenen Persönlichkeitsanteile integriert und in die bewusste Ebene bringt oder eben nicht. Ohne Kontakt mit der einzelnen Person kann das kein Astrologe herausfinden. Hier sind die Grenzen der Ferndeutung.

Trotz dieser prinzipiellen 'Aussagegrenzen' ist aber das Psychologische Horoskop fast immer wertvoll für den Leser oder die Leserin. Selbst wenn man die dort beschriebenen 'Schattenteile' längst bewusst lebt, gibt Liz Greenes Text viele wertvolle Hinweise für die eigene Entwicklung, wenn auch manchmal nur in Form einer Bestätigung "Ja, ich bin auf meinem richtigen persönlichen Weg".

Bitte bedenken Sie auch, dass doch sehr viele, auch gebildete und intelligente Menschen erschreckend unbewusst leben, brav im angepassten Trott des Konsumenten. Ein Horoskop wie das von Liz Greene ist ein ganz wichtiger Augenöffner für solche Menschen. Für andere mag manches nur noch ein Deja-Vue-Erlebnis sein.

Alois adss: You should not have shared your birthtime with people you don't trust - the same way you do not share other personal intimate information, e.g. pictures without clothes on, just with anyone.

Once your birth time is known (the birth date and location is usually not a an easy to keep secret anyway), it can be used with any astrological software or service to look up your horoscope and read about your personality. There is nothing you can do now.

Of course, if your private information is published by someone, you can intervene, and if it is done with malicious intent, you can sue them.

Even if we would be willing to, we could not block the usage of particular birth data on our system. Changing the time by a minute or the location by a few miles would not give a different horoscope reading, but the natal data would not be identical and therefore not blocked. Under the many millions of users on www.astro.com there are actually quite a few accidental astrological twins, i.e. people born near the same time and location, who do not know of each other. We cannot begin disallowing horoscopes for the public.

Please keep your data more secret in the future.

Alois adds: It is (transiting) Pluto conjunct (natal) Sun, not the other way around. It began for you in January 2003, was exact on 21 Feb 2003, 2 May 2003 and 6 Dec 2003. Currently it is again in orb (of 1 degree), but will not become exact anymore.

Alois adds: You certainly did not read this on www.astro.com. A lot of opinions go about regarding retrograde Mercury, some of which I consider superstitious. Some people indulge in bad news.

I don't share that particular faith. For me and for Astrodienst retrograde Mercury has usually been just as beneficial as 'direct' Mercury.

Alois adds: We do, when we like to and have time. Often, unaswered question remain so because they have already been answered, e.g. in the FAQ section.

It is usually my free time which is spent for the guestbook, and my willingness varies, particularily during vacations (which I take often).

I recommend using google.com to find answers to open questions. It is often helpful and eats up nobody's time except your own.

Alois adds: I never agree to concepts which are narrow in thinking and perception. Love takes as many different forms as life does, as people do.

Some people will need Mercury for love, some need Saturn, some need Pluto. Venus may be nice (sometimes) but it does not explain everything about love.

Alois adds: You can run chart drawings of any kind for event charts. Only the chart READING functions are disabled for event charts. Our readings are only for natal charts of actual people.

Alois adds: In short report forecast, only the current six months, beginning at the 1st of the current month are considered. Any transit which began much before will be listed as beginning on 1st August - that particular software does not look forther back.
