Hallo Astrodienst-Team
Vielen Dank. Mit guten Wünschen und freundlichen Grüssen DP.

Hi Everybody!
Once again I want to say how wonderful this site it :). It is so nice to hv access to free astrological info. I am learning more and more about astrology and never get bored from it -- it is the only thing that seems to give me the comfort and answers I need, by knowing that things must happen for a reason since the symbolic answers just happen to be in the sky. How amazing.

Anyway...something wierd has just happened to me. I haven't been keeping a close eye on my chart and will look it all up soon, but here is the deal: i met this guy on the internet. I was in a fantasy world, obviously. We exchanged letters since March of this year, and I thought he was my soul mate, and I thought we'd end up together, forever. We even chatted on webcam, and everything seemed to be normal with us. I thought we were both normally attracted to each other, and all that.

Well ... we just met on June 26 (around 2 am). Wow ... what a reality check. My magic carpet ride was over -- all of a sudden reality hit me. I must've had a bad Neptune transit going on (?)He was sooo different than what I imagined. He is still a wonderful friend, and hopefully always will be ... but, well, i can't figure it out. He seemed soooo different from anyone I hv ever known. I can't figure out what it is, though. He is exxxtremely shy, or something (?). I can't quite pin it down. He is very feminine, I'd say, but I am not necessarily sure If I'd say gay. Hmmm. I wish there would be an article on signs of gay/lesbian birthcharts on astrodienst. I looked for some articles, but I am not finding any good info. By looking at his chart I can see possible signs of it, but then again a part of me thinks it is just like a shyness disorder or something making him act so feminine.

I hv no problem with gay men at all, but I am just in such shock because of how I totally deceived myself. His birth data is Nov 3 1977 11:19 am Corbin, KY. Will someone please w/b with an analysis if you to want to investigate this chart. lol. My data is august 26. 1977 4:56 pm Independence, MO. I am just so ... shocked. malissa456*yahoo.com

Dear Friends,

it seems you are not considering DST rrunning at present in Iraq. The handover occurred today, at 10:26 AM, in Baghdad. Being in Time zone 3, it should give a different ascendent, considering the DST. Please check.

All the best,

Alois adds: You are right, our daylight saving time table was not current for Iraq. We have fixed it.

PS Tuesday 7 am Swiss time: I deleted the 93 records in the database which contained 2004 charts for Iraq with wrong timezone, to prevent the false information to be used further. If someone misses an Iraq chart he/she had entered, this is why it has disappeared. The months April - September are affected.

Alois adds: The period which is considered for the 'short report forecast' is from 1 June to 30 November. Anything outside this period is not considered. The transit you metnion ends in the course of 1 June. Of course it has begun earlier, but he program has not been looking at that - it started only looking on 1 June. So it appears - just begun, already ending.

We call this a feature, not an error ;-)

Hello, I like your site...everything is here for beginners on up...I would like to know more about the Part of Fortune transits and how to reconize, use and interpret them, do you have any info on it? Also, my Long-term Forecast profile on my acct is listing aspects/transits that are outdated and already have past and are still listed...and they dont list the long term aspects/transits like Jupiter*Jupiter, Venus trine Chiron, Venus*Uranus, Jupiter *Ascendant that are currently over-lapping in my Forecast, only the negative ones, why is that? I dont like that part...Can we clean it up and give me/us more positive long term transits to work with? I am sceptical about re-newing my subscription at this point. Thnx, Mj

Hi!

Have you ever considered starting a dating service where we could meet people who might be compatible based on our horoscopes? I would think that it would be a very successful way to meet people.

Hope you will consider the idea. Thanks for a great site!!

Hello,

I have studied astrology, yet I am not a professional astrologer. I do my own chart and follow the transits. I have noticed that your program does not bring up a lot of the significant long term transits for people that have accounts with you. I have had Saturn in my 12th house in Cancer. It has been conjuncting my Uranus, squaring my Natal Moon, and Natal Saturn and soon to square my Natal Neptune. Yet your records did not record this in the personal daily horoscope write up. I don't understand why Saturn square Natal Saturn for almost a year transit is not a significant transit to include in your program. It did not address this transit long term for me. I have a personal account with you and use it because it can quickly do transits that takes me more time to do. I like the quickness, but I find that your transit list is not highlighting what is really happening in my personal chart. Please respond.
Thanks.
Donna

Alois adds: I am afraid you have not looked carefully enough.

You have two natal records for 'Donna' on file with different birth times. I have been looking at the one with 7.21.

Saturn square natal Saturn was the first time exact on 16 Augst 2003, 08:12 UT, then again on 9 Jan 2004, (this is 8 Jan 2004, 22:42 Harrisburg time) when Saturn was retrograde, and finally on 3 May 2004. It went out of orb about a week after.

If you use the 'extended daily horoscope extended day choice' and navigate to those days, you find Saturn square Saturn listed under 'Important long-term influences' for every day of these periods:
9 Aug 2003 - 26 Aug 2003
28 Dec 2004 - 18 Jan 2004
25 April 2004 - 14 May 2004
On 8 Jan 2004 and 15 Aug 2003 it was chosen as the main theme of the day.

Our system tries not to present the same 'main theme' reading more than once within the same calendar year, as it aims to provide variation. It does not choose the 'most important' theme each day - otherwise, while a heavy transit is going on, it would have to give the same daily reading for several weeks or months, which few people would appreciate. Please see the FAQ for more information about this.

Please understand that the daily horoscope is intended as a feature for 'daily news', like a daily newspaper. It is not the best choice of services, if you want to get an overview of the really important issues you are facing in the course of a full year. In the daily horoscope, it is easy to miss important information, because it makes no strong selection for relevance, but tries to tell something new each day - as it should.

You might want to look at our reports 'Transits of the Year' by Robert Hand, and 'Yearly Horoscope Analysis' by Liz Greene. These reports provide a special selection of the important issues you are facing in the course of 12 months. They focus not on the trivia of daily news, but on what is really important.

Both kinds of services are important, the daily news, often entertaining and inspiring, and the long-term analysis, helping to guide our way through time.

If you just want a good data overview about the transits, without the reading, I recommend Free Horoscopes -> Extended chart selection -> group Astrodienst special -> Transit Calendar

This free printout has a graphical representation of all transits (various options for the choice of planets and time range). In the graphics, you find the exact timing of all transits. The multi-page document may look a bit confusing at first, and you should follow the advice on the first page about glueing the sheets together to form a continuous chart.

Hello. I've been getting a daily personal Astrodienst comment for a short time and have wondered: you include some background, longterm transits for my chart, including Neptune conjunct Mercury - but there is no mention of the transit of Uranus to my Saturn which is currently going on.

Is that because the transit is not to a personal planet? It is definitely having a stong effect on my life, health, etc. My birth data is: xxx, 1936 in Yonkers NY, USA at xxx a.m.

Gail  B o n o f f
Cambridge, USA --- Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at 18:49 Universal Time

Alois adds: The omissions are by design. It may be that you failed to read the introduction. It says:

Introduction

This report is a short edition of the astrOtext Forecast. It is meant as a sample and advertisement for the full version of the astrOtext Forecast which can be ordered from Astrodienst as a bound report of about 20 - 30 pages.

In the short edition, only a few, but nevertheless important transits over your natal chart are considered. It is likely however that some important transits of this six month period have been omitted in this abbreviated report. Each time a new month begins and the period of this short report changes, the selection of the themes which are discussed here will change.

If you are interested in the full pattern of relevant themes, please order the full version of this report. Your best choice of report will be Liz Greene's Yearly Horoscope Analysis or Robert Hand's Transits of the Year. These reports will select the really relevant themes of a 12-month period for you, and deal with them in depth and style.

The recent announcement by the astronomical societies of the existence of another planetoid that is far beyond the reaches of our humble solar system is both amazing and interesting. I am referring to the planetoid 99990 currently named Sedna. That so much seems to be known about it is also very astounding. I want to thank Astrodienst for providing an ephemeris for this astral body that cannot be seen but only referred to in these terms. With an orbit around the Sun that is as long as it is, this planetoid's impression goes beyond the generational influence of a planet like Pluto with its small moon. It will be interesting to see how astrologers will interpret its influence if any at all on human history and development.

Hello to all at Astrodienst,
I'd just like to say how much I enjoy your website! I've been using it for the last couple of years, since I first became interested in astrology. It's set up so well for a beginner -and I 've found as my knowledge and experience has increased the deeper I can go into the website, I'm always discovering new things in it. It really is like a gold mine and such a generous resource. I love the personal touches too, like the photos, the childrens' stories and the artwork. So thankyou for the service and the pleasant environment in which you present it, and best wishes for the future.

Lieber Herr Treindl,
Rolf Gross

thank you for your feedback. It is very valuable to us, even when it is not exactly a nice thing to read in the guestbook.

To be able to talk about this to our dutch translators, we would need much more precise information, i.e. as many text samples as possible where the Dutch is 'terrible', if possible with propositions for how it should be corrected.

If you find time to provide this detailed feedback, we would appreciate it. Please send it by email to webmaster*astro.com

The timezoine history in Quebec is very irregular, and different parts of Quebec had different rules, often varying from town to town, in the 50ies and early 60ies.

Certainly, the calculation on our website has NOT changed, unless you have entered different data.

Hi Alois - For some unknown reason, on your homepage the daily planetary placements are being given for the date May 18, 2004, iinstead of for June. I don't know if everyone is seeing this, but just thought I'd let you know.

Alois adds: Dear Pamela, we did install a stack of new web servers (hardware) this morning, and took the old ones out of operation.

This is a major intervention, and many kinds of problems are likely to appear as a consequence, the down time of over three hours aside. All user data were migrated to the new machines without apparent problems.

The planet problem is fixed, thanks for notifying us. In the current situation, we would appreciate notification about problems via 'report a problem' and not by the guestbook.

Currently the website is a bit overloaded, because the new servers seem to suffer under short breath. Once we have installed new Linux sofware on the old servers, we will put them back into operation (probably next monday) and the total capacity will then have doubled.

l use this site offten because I usualy find it very insightful and easy to navigate but, I was wondering if a different Personal Portrait interpretaion has been published on the web site in the last few months, because I came back to review mine and I don´t remember it being so inaccurate or... negative

Hi, I love the site, I was wondering if there would be a list of which signs rule which countries, because I've been trying to find out which zodiac sign is associated with California, but to no avail. Thanks.

WOW! You know what...I don't really believe in one-size-fits-all horoscopes etc, tho I am happy to accept that there are unknown forces out there that can affect who we are and what we are to become. This belief was greatly re-inforced by the uncanny accuracy with which the personality chart interpreted who I am. It described me ALMOST in every detail. Very impressive!

I wanted to order Liz Greene's yearly analysis but I could only find the six-year forecast. Are you not offering the one-year horoscope anymore?

Thanks otherwise for a fantastic service,

Folks,
After posting my comment this morning, I received an email from some nut case - using my first name and mentioning astrology. I'm pretty sure he got the address and name here and I'd be happy to pass on a copy of this thing if you'd like to check. I get a lot of junk of course - but not with my name attached. I wouldn't be surprised if this same idiot was picking up other addresses and names too.
Thank you.
Linda

Thank you very much, and besides I would like to congratulate you on this excellente and informative page you have.

What a really fantastic site you have here- inarguably one of the most informative, and comprehensive I've ever seen. It's also extremely refreshing to see an astrological website that gets to the point...without the fluff or ADHD make-me-feel-good horrorscopes. I have purchased a long-term outlook and am very excited about receiving it... I've never purchased anything like this before, but I felt compelled to support such detail and dedication in some way. I wish you guys nothing but the best.

I've just received my six year horoscope, which I ordered (more or less accidentally) when I renewed my extended daily forecasts. It must have been lurking in the shopping cart from another time. Being a believer in the idea there are no accidents, I decided that I was meant to have this forecast now and left it there.
I'm glad I got it. Liz Greene is superb at convincing you that you can make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Or rather that no matter how seemingly dire a long term transit - there really is no sow's ear. (I am coming up to a Saturn return, opp my Sun - and have Pluto at the desc. bouncing off a natal T-square on the angles. Neptune is conjunct my natal Sun and Uranus is conjunct Mercury and opp Mars!)
I very much appreciate the guidance given in the report and feel better prepared to face the challenges coming my way in the future. The outstanding feature of the report lies in Liz Greene's depth of understanding of the overall significance of changing patterns - what we are meant to learn and develop as long term transits affect our lives. The information on my particular generation was accurate and insightful, and I particularly enjoyed the section on Environment. Liz's take on Canada, I thought, was dead on. I'll be referring back to this report for next few years and I want to extend my thanks to all at Astrodienst for the superb web site and for producing reports and services without equal.
Many thanks!
Linda

Salut,
eine wunderbare Site des Lebens. Frage: wenn So in 16 °Krebs und Pluto in 10° Jungfrau warum erscheint dann auf dem chart bei den Zeichnungen kein Sextil für diesen Aspekt in der Tabelle ?

I am looking for a way to use Swiss Ephemeris for a fast transit search. For example, given today's date, when is the next date when Saturn is within 5 degrees of 25 degrees Leo. Currently the only method I have is brute force i.e. iterate through day by day and test the value. Is there either a routine that you have or an algorithm you can refer me to for this? Thanks.

When I run a natal chart for someone and that person has moved, how is the daily scope accurate using that birth data? Isn't a current chart based on where they live now?
