time zones in Argentina
I'm afraid you are very right on your appreciation of what our government
does! My moon in Virgo is ashamed to further inform you that the Province of
San Juan will pull clocks backward at 0:00 A.M of May 21st. 2004, BUT the
Provinces of Tucumán, La Rioja, Chubut, Santa Cruz and Tierra del Fuego will
do so as from June 1st. 2004. This information was published in Newspaper La
Nación, which can be checked on-line. All cities included in these provinces
abide to this regulation. I personally find this utterly disorganized and
extremely misleading for astrological work.
I'm attaching by e-mail the document I trust on Argentine erratic time zones.
If you have trouble with the language, just let me know, and bear in mind
that in Spanish we write the day before the month.
Helpfully yours

Alois adds: In regard to natal data entry, please make sure there
is no red message somewhere in the form, indicating a missing data item.
Please press continue as often as needed to leave the form - it will never leave as long as there are messages
printed in red, indicating incomplete data entry.
Please be assured that so far more than 6.5 million users have managed to enter more then 13 million natal data records,
despite this "very poor" system.
The "feelback" entries are made a bit difficult (by requiring an emailed security code to be entered) so that we get less silly entries into the "feelback" area. We feel back then, when we did not have this system, there was quite a problem
with spam entries which we feel have gone back now.
What does it mean when my solar arc-----like right now----neptune is in my

Alois adds: We don't give personal astrological readings in this guestbook area, I am afraid. But please be aware
that a planet is in the same house for about 30 years (roughly the size of the house, when measured in degrees, converted to years) when you direct it by solar arc. I would therefore not overestimate
those placements.
I'm actually interested in finding out how I can discover what the planets
are doing on June 3rd, full moon, in Melbourne, Australia, but not sure how
to find this out. Can someone help me with this?
Naomi R o s e
Melbourne, Australia --- Thursday, May 27, 2004 at 11:30 Universal Time
Alois adds: The planets are in the same celestial positions, whether observed from Austriala or from somewhere else.
To find out where they are at a given date, you can either erect a chart for that date, or look in the ephemeris
files. For 3000 years of printable ephemeris files, please see the left column.

Hello, I want to inform you and everybody who might be concerned that the
Province of Mendoza, Argentina has decided to put clocks back and hour since
May 23, 2004. This is due to daylight saving time and the chances are that
the government will decide to make more changes in the next days.
I am very grateful to Astrodienst who provides accurate worldwide information
on this subject.

Buenos Aires, Argentina --- Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at 21:55 Universal Time
Alois adds: The Argentina government(s) are somewhat prone to rush decisions. Other countries make laws for timezones
a few years ahead, making our life a bit easier.
Now, if we just knew which towns out of our 1197 towns in Argentina
happen to be in the affected province, and which ones choose not to follow their provincial goverment but
their neighbour town across the river in another province, which the occasionally do...
In regard to its timezone history Argentina is an un-researched area. Different sources make different claims,
and many publications, also by local astrological organisations, are known to be incomplete, contradictorial
and sometimes misleading (including astro.com). I am afraid we cannot sort all this out.
If you want to know our least reliable timezone areas on the planet: Argentina and Russia. Both with large
astrological communities, but possible a bit uninterested in researching timezone history nationwide, not just
for the capital. That would be hard, unspectacular labour of love.

I just want to say that I previously ordered Liz's psychological horoscope
for myself and my family. The one I ordered for myself was from her previous
website. Anyway, the information that she provided was absolutely
remarkable.....not to mention how it fit us all.
We all use this as a tool for working on our paths, and has helped us a great
deal with issues to work through, and acceptance of who we are.
Not that we don't want to go forward because some things about ourselves are
not necessarily the way we want to be. Knowing we can grow and change what
we need to through growth is wonderful. However, some things are who we are
and we can accpet who we are and go forward. An example of this is my
daughter. She has had much difficulty raising her daughters. Liz clearly
points out (or should I say my daughter's planets) that being a parent is not
the easiest thing in the world for her, and her horoscope gave her
suggestions as to how she can manage this in her life with more, shall we say
peace of mind, and still have a life for herself along with that. It has
removed the guilt she feels in regards to her lack of basic life, day to day
stresses with raising children causing her much frustration and being
unfulfilled. What a gift this is for her. She can do both.
It has also helped her heal with her issues regarding her father, and with
me. I even catch her when she is doing exactly what her psychological
horoscope says she does with me. I remind her about it. She's working on
it. I don't want to hinder her, I want to empower her to live her life for
herself, and not for what she thinks I want her to do. It's been a true
blessing, and I want to thank Liz for her gifts and incredible knowledge of
how this all works, and the desire to help people understand more about
themselves.
Thank you, thank you and thank you.
Love and Light,

I bought a psychological horoscope by Liz Greene in 1999. I'm wondering
whether it has been updated to include discussion of aspects to Chiron and
the Ascendant, which I have recently noticed are not in the list of aspects
mentioned in the 1999 report (from what was called Astro*Intelligence). If
the program has been changed I would consider ordering another. By the way,
the first was great! When I think what could be added with some info on more
important aspects, it would be unbeatable.

Hi!
I had to come and thank you for this excellent site. I have read many
horoscopes as anyone else but this I read almost daily and I can say it
affects my life. If it wasn't for the horoscope there would be many things I
wouldn't consider happening that day and I wouldn't perhaps scope my inner
feelings. Some days don't match with the way I think but probably we are not
supposed to live through the horoscope but by what we are. I think this
horoscope is an asset, a strenght to see other aspects of ourselves.

Kan iemand me duidelijkheid geven ??

In doing solar return charts I notice that the automatic computation of
daylight savings time goes through only 2007. For years 2008 and after it
reverts to standard time during the summer months in the Eastern time zone.
Is there a reason for this or is it an oversight on the part of Astrodienst?
Steve H u n t e r
asheville, nc, USA --- Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at 23:04 Universal Time
Alois adds: Like many thing, the daylight saving time of the future is not known.
Our past experience teaches us that the rules change all the time, in
many countries.
The best we can do is keep the correct information about the past and the present.
For astrology, what we want is the NATAL CHARTS correct. People who do charts are usually
born in the past, not in the future. This means that the emphasis
is on the correct daylight saving time HISTORY. Because we also want correct charts
for children born now, we try to make sure that our information is always current for
the present time. This is already difficult, because we do not get automatically
informed by all law changes in all countries of the planet.
About the rules in future years, we will worry when the time comes. At the moment,
we do not yet care much about DST in 2008. There may be a new oil crisis by then, and
all the rules will be changed (remember 1974 ?).
Daylight saving time is only about government manipulating the time shown on peoples watches. It
does not change the movement of the sky or of celestial objects.
For Solar returns, what does it matter what time your wristwatch will show on a given
date in 2008? The calculation of the Universal time moment for your Solar return is not
influenced by the setting of your wristwatch in 2008.
hallo,
gibts auf Eurer tollen Seite irgendwo Deutungen über den Venus-Transit am
08.06.?

Alois adds: Please allow me to reply in English.
Most 'free reports' are in fact available in French. Only the 'AstroClick' features are missing.
Regarding emailing reports:
At Astrodienst we aim for the highest quality, and there is an intricate relationship between the quality
of internal content and external form.
We believe in physical shipping of nicely printed and beautifully bound reports in 'booklet' form.
It makes a difference for the perception of our valuable horoscope readings, whether you get them
as a heap of paper coming out from you inkjet, or whether you receive them properly bound as booklets.
The difference is the same as with books, where there is also a huge difference between reading a real,
beautifully made book, or just a stack of loose sheets from your own printer. I for myself am a book lover,
and I prefer to buy
and read 'real' books. I would not want to download them from the web, to read on a screen or to print
them out myself.
We make exceptions sometimes for people living in areas with unreliable postal service, or if a physical
shipment has gone wrong. Then we send Acrobat PDF copies of reports by email. Technically, we can do it,
but on a regular basis we do not want to do it.
God bless you guys for this website! I am really thankful for the information
you give for free as well as the paid reports, which are amazingly
accurate.
It is incredible to find such a vast and accurate information in a user
firendly format.
Keep it up! :-)

Alois adds: There is a secret trick. Display the transit chart, and see that it
shows UT: 00:00:00 below the date, in red, on the left upper corner.
Now edit the URL in the browser and append: &stx2=vshgmt=16
and press ENTER.
You will get the transits for UT 16:00
For setting the minute, it is a bit impractical: you need to use decimal hour
fractions, e.g. vshmgt=16.5 will result in 16:30 etc.

hello aloys and liz I
first, let me thank you for your reliable and generous service you provide on
the net in the domain of astrology. you really do a great and helpfull
job!
i ordered from you an analysis of my horoscope for 2004 which is very helpful
for my personal developement.
i'm going through a cycle in my relationships and i can relate to what liz
green wrote in this analysis. it looks very much like what i went through in
october 2000 and i remember (vaguely) reading at that time on your site a
long term influence concerning karmic, intense encounters with others which
will have a great influence in my life.
i wonder: would it be possible to retrieve the long and medium term
influences in my horosope from october 2000? this in order to have a better
image of the big picture of what is going on in my unconscience mind and how
it surfaces in my relationships.
i very much appreciate the time you take to do this.

I create everyday from this site and thus feel like I'm growing faster as a

Chiron, Pholus, as well as true, South/North Node. Why not state their
purpose and influence via the Charts? Most sites emphasize a strong influence
from South/North Node on a personality report, yet I don't understand its
planetary influence in a chart, nor its relevance in astrology. Not saying it
holds no value, simply that I don't understand it. Same with Chiron. Could
you tell me where to look either on this site or another site that would tell

Hello, thanks so much for offering a free diagram of one's own personal chart

In my case, i was struck by the prevalence of oppositions, in fact, i believe
i have a fixed grand cross in my chart or a near grand cross. Maybe it's
just a T-Square, anyway, it's meant a great deal of misery in my life - lots
of psychotherapy. I read books by Tracy Marks here in Boston on T-Squares
and Twelfth House people and found a lot of myself in them.
I have a great talent for raising opposition in reactionary america - i likee

today are reflected in some of our wierd physics. What a hoot! I've been
reading it and remember him as the Zen guy from the 60's. I was wondering
what you might make of it.

I have only recently heard about an unusual alignment of almost all of the
planets in a T-Square on Aug. 13, 2010. Though it's news to me, I have heard
that many astrologers have been aware of this alignment for some time now.
I'm wondering if Liz Greene or other prominent astrologers have written about
this subject, and where I might read their interpretations?
Many thanks.

Alois adds: Allow me to say that the planets are ALWAYS unusually aligned.
There is no such thing as a 'usual alignment' - the planetary constellation
of each moment is unique in its own way, and just as much an interesting mystery
as any particular alignment on any particular date.
If you like to worry about the future, why not worry about the alignment
of 19 january 2038 ?
I am a 36 year old female and for the last two years I have tried to live by
my horoscope. I can't believe how close it is to my life. I am a Scorpio and
my personality traits are almost exact. I am wanting to learn more about my
sign but am having a hard time understanding some things i.e the suns? and
the different houses. Please feel free to e-mail me if you can help me
understand all this in english..lol...and also I would like to know who to
read that is the truest to our horoscopes. Thanks Stacey

I have always trusted astrological info at face value (I mean, ephem data,
and that the whole system must make sense....I don't mean gullibly believing
any ole astrologer that comes around the bend that's why I enjoy astro.com,
so solid, so extensive, so helpful). Recently I have had the impulse to make
greater sense of what is happening up there astronomically. I want to see
charts, actually see Venus, and so forth.
....... and this has been confusing! Why does it look like Saturn is
presesntly in Gemini, when all proper astrological sources say its in Cancer?
Can someone explain this sort of thing to me? Many thanks, confused.

Alois adds: Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac, based on the seasons
and the Equinoxes. It is the standard coordinate system of modern astronomy
as well. Please see Precession and Zodiac in our section 'advanced astrology articles'.
Only Hindu astrology and its derivates use a fixed-star based 'sidereal zodiac' roughly based on fix star constellations.
Hello - lovely site.
I have a question regarding the cusp of Libra Scorpio, October 22 to be
exact. I was born in 1961 in Cleveland and my birth certificate doesn't have
the time of birth on it. I have determined my rising sign as Gemini. Life
has seemed very tough indeed for me the last 3 years. Libra Scorpio is
awesome, but a lot of work! Please comment if you'd be so kind. Thank you,
love the site!

I've heard about Robert Hand and Liz Greene as top astrologers some 10 years
ago, but I discovered this site just recently. I'm really glad there is so
good site for various free astro stuff, it's surely among the best and the
most comprehensive ones I know about. It's very good and helpful for the
beginner astrology students. I just wanted to say thank you, and all the best.

Hi Alois,
what I find most confusing is: when do you interpret an aspect as a trine and
when as for example a quincunx and what is the exact difference apart from
the angle? because if I have, say, sun in aries and ascendant in leo, this
should be a trine, even if it is ca. 145 degrees shouldnt it? I mean, the
signs are in the same element and that is mainly giving the aspect its
character doesnt it. Or am I entirely wrong. And if so, is a quincunx a
negative aspect (for example, when relating the planetary positions of two
people with each other)? Glad to receive your answer!

Alois adds: Western astrology does not use fixed star constellations (there
are many of those, about 70, not just 13). Astrology uses 'sun signs' which are 30-degree
segments of the tropical zodiac, starting at the vernal equinox. A 360° circle
has exactly 12 such sections. These have
nothing to do with fixed star constellations.
Please see the article Precession and Zodiac
Hullo Sir,
Is there anyway that I could find a sidereal ephemeris for NY on your
site?
Thank you,

I would like to know on what premise/system is a progression chart founded
on?
I was reading Taurus edition of Dell horoscope and they say that a SECONDARY
PROGRESSION is founded on the formula that one day after the birth is the
equivalent to one year after birth.
So the question is: Do you work out a progression chart using the same
formula as a secondary progression, and if not what is the formula for a
progression chart?
Thanking You

Alois adds: In the left column there is a link 'astro dictionary'.
Please use it and then enter the term 'progression'. Most likely, what you want
is 'secondary progressions', so proceed with that link in the search replies.
Hi, My name is neil. I have been searching all the intrenet for the
definition of ''Sun Quincunx Moon'' I hear this is very hard to deal with.
EMontinally and what not. Can you please decribe what that means in my astro
profile In detail please? I would appreciate it som much What does that mean?
THE Following is what i have read about it but i can't desinguish the two
feelings
Sun Quincunx Moon:
There is an ongoing, subtle conflict within you, between your conscious
attitudes and aspirations, and your deeper emotional and subconscious
beliefs, needs, and feelings. This creates considerable inner stress and
sometimes paralyzing indecision, mostly due to the fact that you may be
trying to follow a path that is at odds with your subconscious desires.
Chronic tightness or tension in your body may well be a signal that you are
denying or suppressing the messages from your subconscious or emotional
self.
Ideally, you will learn to accept the two quite different aspects of yourself
and to express both of them. If you cannot do this, you're apt to attract
many people into your life who reflect your denied or repressed qualities,
and who seem to make your life difficult
That gave me no idea of what Sun Quincunx Moon Means. Please describe it
in greater detail.... thank you

I love your service! I've been wondering if you've ever considered starting a
matchmaking component? The personal ads are very popular these days and I'm
sure that many of your clients would be excited about being able to choose
from a pool of potential mates who've already been vetted by an astrologer or
astrological computer program. This idea has kind of taken hold of me to the
extent that I've even invisioned a marketing plan that pits your service
against e-harmony.com, a personal ad service that matches people based on an
extensive (500 questions) questionaiire. Now, wouldn't that be fun...to see
which works better, an thousands of year old art, or the latest from the
social scientists? Would love to know what you think, keep up the good work.
