Dear Alois,
I've been looking into my progressive chart and I'm wondering about
something. Is it common for the 4 corner houses to change signs all 4 at the
same time, or is this a rare event?
This should be happening in my chart, a few years from now, all 4 corner
houses will then progress to 0°01' in the next sign.
I'm not asking you to give me a fullblown analysis, but maybe this does have
some significance you wish to share with me.
Thanks a lot!
Annex.
ps: I've recently been hired to work on a book about horoscopes, and I owe
some of it to this website I feel, so thank you for showing me the 'light'.

Alois adds: This happens if the angle between the Ascendant and the MC axis
in the pogressed chart happens to be exactly 90 degrees, AND the progressed
MC ist just at the end of a sign.
Is it common? No.
A simple hand-waving analysis: assume even distribution of Asc-MC angles
between 60 and 120 degrees -> probability of having between 89°59 and 90°01
is 1 / 1800.
Probability that this happens at 29°59 of a sign = 1 / 1800.
There are 60 years of adult lifespan for this to happen once.
total probability = 60 * (1/1800) * (1/1800) = 0.000018.
It happens to one out of 54'000 persons at some point in that person's life.
Statistical probability analysis has little value in astrology, as it does
not convey any MEANING. The really important question is always: what does
it mean? and not: How frequently does it occur?
I was doing one of your short forecasts for a friend of mine who has her Sun
in Pisces 5 degrees 30 minutes. Uranus will be in 5 or 6 degrees Pisces from
April through August. I don't understand why the obvious important transit
of Uranus conjunct Sun was missing from your forecast. Her birth details are

Hi,
First of all i thankyou for one of the best sites i have been to.
A QUESTION:
i was once told that King Solomons birth chart had a grand trine hence the
six pointed STAR OF DAVID. I was wondering if it is really true? and i would
love to have a look at King Solomons Chart if somebody has worked on it. I
understand a lot of people must have done extensive research on that.
And also i am not even sure if the GRAND TRINE is related to King Solomon why
is it called STAR OF DAVID? Was it because his birth chart also had a GRAND
TRINE?
I would really appreciate a reply.
Thank you again astro.com

Hi Alois, thanks for the response to my feedback from yesterday. I would just
like to stress the point that my criticism of Monas method does not mean she
interpreted things in a NEGATIVE way and thus I was disappointed or anything,
no, it is actually the contrary: her horoscope was very nice, positive etc.
which is ok (who does not like to read good things!) but just so general and
in some points just not true (I dont mean too positive or too negative or
anything like that, just not right in some main characteristics...). I am an
artist myself so I dont expect every word of the report to be true in a
scientific sense, but as I said, I find her method extremely unlogical and
when I pay for something like this, I would expect at least some 70-80% of
the things to be true. As said, Liz was much more specific (and not always
just nice and flat) but more to the point. Anyhow, perhaps I should have read
more about Monas report before ordering..Regards, J.

I used to have a lot of respect for your website. It was recommended to me
by someone who has been studying and following astrology for many years. I
do not feel the same right now. I guess my main question right now, how do 2
people with completely different birthdays and charts have the exact same
horoscope on the exact same day, March 30, 2004. Take for example, my
birthday is Nov of '80, born in IL and someone else has a birthday in Dec of
'76 born in GA. There is no logical explanation, and this is not the first
time this has happened. I have also mapped my birthchart myself using an
astrology book. Your website came up with something similar, but had some
discrepancies. I assumed it was my error because I came up with the same
chart each time I mapped it, and you still came up with something different.
I figured that me being an ametuer at horoscopes, I could be making an error
and not know it. Now I am questioning the validity of your website. Is this
site actually ran by professional astrologists or someone claiming to be?
Thanks for your time.

Alois adds: There are two possibilities:
a) This website is a fake
b) You lack some understanding of astrological technique. Having a natal Sun in Scorpio, you
prefer to hit the other in the face with your mistrust instead of simply asking for an explanation.
b) is true. Apparently you have not read the FAQ section
about the technique behind the daily horoscope, and apparently you do not
understand well what 'transits' are.
Please, look at the FAQ question How can two people have exactly the same daily horoscope? and
also at the other sections nearby.
In your case, it is the MC you have in common (only 1/3 of a degree apart)
and all aspects of planets to the MC happen for both at nearly the same time.
For a slow transiting outer planet the 20' can make a difference of a few days, but
for a fast one like the Sun, which moves a full degree per day, the hits are
on the same day, about 8 hours apart. You have all the houses actually lined up close together, so
that also all transits of planets through a particular house will occur at the
same time for both of you. It would be a good idea to get familiar with
both your chart drawings, so that you become aware of the differences as well
as the common elements. A Synastry drawing shows that even immediately, see
extended chart selection.
Dear Alois,
Will there ever be interpretations for future events. I know you
have said that Astrodient only deals with the present, but are you all
planning on dealing with the future. Why do you have an event tab if you
never planned on it's being used in the first place??

Hi,
I have ordered the relationship hoproscope by Liz Greene as well as the
horoscope for two by Mona Riegger. The latter one was very different from the
Liz Greene one (Liz one was very detailed and exact in many things) and I was
wondering WHY. Not only that Monas analysis was written in a very general and
unspecific way, it had parts which were absolutely not right. So I compared
the last page (combined horoscope) and discovered that Mona uses a different
method. I must say that besides the fact that I think many of the things were
wrong in my case, it is also a method which is just NOT logical. it refers to
the middle between two birth dates and depending on how many years difference
of age you have (for example 5 or 6 years), the result would be totally
different!!! For example, two people born in October with 5 years of age
difference would have a combined horoscope in ARIES and two other people born
on the same dates (and say, both people would still have the same ascendant,
moon, etc too) but with 6 years age difference would have a combined
horoscope somewhere around LIBRA. Now how much sense does that method make??
None at all, according to my point-of-view. Liz Greene uses the midpoint
method which is much more logical as it does not depend on how many years are
lying between two people...It was a coincidence that the outcome was quite
wrong in my case, I would probably not have recognized it if I was born a
year later or earlier (which would have made the difference according to this
method). Very unfortunate. Not worth the money. I would recommend Liz Greene
though.

Alois adds: I am sorry if you were disappointed about one of our reports.
To read a person's or couple's horoscope is always an risky act for an astrologer -
there is the possibility that he/she fails to meet the client's expectations,
and is blamed for that.
Astrology is not a science, it is an art. Two different artists, when asked to produce
a work on the same 'subject', will come up with differnt results. That is in the nature
of the art. Some artist's work will speak to you more than another's.
Of course it makes a differnce for both, Liz Greene's Relationship Horoscope, and
Mona Riegger's Horoscope for Two, whether the partner is born a year later or earlier.
Already a day can make a huge difference. It always depends on the individual case.
That said, I also like Liz' report better; but there are many cases, where the result
of Mona Riegger's work is very refreshing and interesting. It can throw new light on elements
of a relationship which remain in the dark with any other technique.
We keep the different techniques not secret - we have complete sample reports of all our reports, and
they each contain an appendix explaining important parts of the used technique.
Customers can really get full information before they order anything.
You will find yet another partnership horoscope in our service, AstroText Partner by Robert
Hand. It is based exclusively on the Composite, while Liz Greene uses a combination of Synastry,
Composite and natal chart reading, and Mona Riegger uses what is called 'Combine Chart' in
German, and Davison Relationship chart in the english speaking world.
Ihre Persönlichkeitsanalyse ist wirklich wunderbar und sehr hilfreich. Auch
die Sprache ist freundlich und elegant.

Hello,
thanks for your great website with its great contents and products.
And also many many thanks to Liz Greene whose books and articles published on
your site helped me very much in understanding my life and my life's misery.
That may sound somewhat exaggering, but thats how it is. It seems that you
know her quite well, so please say her thanks from me when you meet her.
But one (I think important) thing I have to add.
In the Neptune book, she described what the transit of Neptune through
Saggitarius brought with respect to cinema and that films aimed then rather
at a younger target group. Yes thats true. But don't forget the children
TV-programmes. Perhaps the globaly (at least for children growing up in the
western world) most telling example (perhaps its symbol per se) is the
Sesamestreet which began in the early seventies and was carefully translated
to other languages and broadcasted in many countries.
Often when I am together with others of my age, all of us born in the early
seventies, we first remember all these lovingly caricatured different figures
like Ernie and Bert (I don't know the English language Names of the other
figures, they were translated). But then too, we remember all the other
figures of Astrid Lindgren or Heidi (a cartoon about a little swiss girl
produced in Japan). I often think about Globalisation (though, rather in an
economic perspective but from that point of view it makes sense, too) and its
origins, and it seems to me that here are its roots.
As an irony of history, in October 2001, around a month after the
September,11-attacks, a photo of Osama Bin Laden together with Evil-Bert on a
poster shown on a demonstration in Bangladesh, spreaded like a brush fire
through the internet. I would like to know, what that may mean in that
context, I am convinced, it means something. Maybe I can get an answer.
Anyway, carry on doing your great job alltogether.

excellent job as always. I have a question about astrology computer programs
and commercial use. Are there any programs that astrodienst endorses or can
suggest that can also be used to aid professional astrologers? Are there such
programs? Or is it best/ethical for a professional astrologer to cast a chart
by hand?
Any reply is appreciated,
Thanx!

Alois adds: We really have experience only with our own software, the one we use for the reports we sell. We think it
is by far superior to any 'astrological reports writer' software you can buy, and our customers
seem to think so as well. Many professional astrologers use reports they order from us, to enhance
and deepen their work with their clients.
When we came out with our first report, the Psychological Horoscope by Liz Greene, seventeen years ago, it
was a big step forward in computerized astrology. We expected the 'competition' to make an effort
and to catch up with us. Apparently, this has not happened. We are still far beyond everyone else
in the field.
Of course, there are important elements in a personal chart reading with a client, which a computer
report can never provide, e.g. the feeling of empathy, human warmth and understanding. Even
when the text written by our authors often also evokes such feelings in the reader, it remains
detached and is just 'letters on paper'. Here, a feeling human astrologer can provide something
different to her client.
Thank You so much for this wonderful informative site. I have learnt a great
deal about myself and others through your service.

Hello. Congratulations on your excellent products and presentation on your
web site. I have recently subscribed to the extended daily forecast. It would
be useful to me as a subscriber to be able to access all portions of the
extended forecast for a day as a single HTML file, rather than having
separate pages for each transit. When I read, I tend to save the file on my
Palm Pilot so I can read on the train while commuting to Washington, D.C. If
this is not possible, I quite understand. But I hope you will consider it, as
it would increase the usefulness of an already excellent product.

writing again - probably confused everything with my last e/m. repeating now
- and hope this is not a pain.
am writing a paper for a psychology degree and am linking analysis with soul
work and talking about the role of intuition., am particularly interested in
the vertex - have the classic meaning -
The vertex is a theoretical point in the heavens where the ecliptic-the
apparent orbit of the Sun around the earth-crosses the prime vertical-the
plane that runs at right angles to the meridian and divides the celestial
sphere from front to back.
The vertex/anti-vertex is only theoretical to the degree that the Ascendant
and Midheaven are as well.
BUT...............
what i want to know is - what does that mean on an intuitive level - is that
where earth meets the celestial sphere? a line of vision? what does it
actually mean for the ecliptic to cross the prime vertical? HELP!!!
and............... why was this the only vertex shown
AND..................why doesnt anyone in Europe use it - why just the
americans???????????????
so.......i leave you with this and look forward to some explanations from OUT
THERE !!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks in anticipation, S

Alois adds: I think most people consider this 'vertex' as a very technical
concept, as not interesting, and that it means nothing to them on an intuitive
level. This is why we don't use it.
Ask the Americans why they use it even when it means nothing on the intuitive level....
I love your site. But I wish you could lose the random graphic which

Sorry I'm not so good in english to tell what I think.
Das was in diesen paar
Zhi yu Dao ( Der
Weg ist das Ziel. ), weil ich es so wollte. ...

Saturn return is where the authentic self is interfaced with responsiblities,
limitations of the mature world. This is where you find how much you have
grown into being a person essestially responsible for what you want created
in the material world. Saturn rewards, Saturn limits, Saturn tests your
strenght in finding your place in the world.
Usually, heavy responsibity incurs at this time. What will you make of it?
How has up to now, your observance of yourself with the world been
intergrated. It is somewhat different for everyone but this is a generic
Saturn return.
Saturn has passed through all the houses, What have you learned through the

Is there anything wrong or was there a time shift during these years?

Astronomers have discovered a planetoid beyond Pluto. Sedna is named after
the Inuit goddess of the sea. She was a beautiful but vain woman, as you can
read for yourself in the links provided below. Sedna is a tad smaller than
Pluto, thus in the middle of controversy as to whether she is a planet or a
planetessimal. The above links are two reports.
The below links are two versions of the legend of Sedna, Inuit Goddess of the
Sea.
http://www.hvgb.net/~sedna/story.html
http://www.inuitgallery.com/sedna.shtml
I'm curious to hear what astrologers have to say about Sedna.
I'm personally leaning on the possibility of the planet Sedna indicating our
place of vanity or lack of humility. Another possibility, IMO, is the place
where our blind spot to finding love is. I'm leaning, however, toward it
being an indicator of vanity.
As ever, a loyal fan of astro.com --thanks for an excellent site for
astrologers, both professional and the laypeople.

If the dates of a transit are 13 March 2004 to 26 July 2004 (Enlightening

halfway between 13 March and 26 July? Or is 3 March the middle and strongest

Will you be putting up an ephemeris for Sedna (2003 VB16)
and/or do you know the number codes for this and 2004DW?

2003 VB12 (there is confusioan about VB12 or VB16, I think VB12 is right) is not numbered either. We gave it for Swiss Ephemeris usage the provisional number

I received a relationship horoscope from Liz Greene that I decided to
purchase AFTER the breakup of a relationship so that I could try to
understand what had happened on a much deeper level than circumstancial
situations. I was reluctant to read it, so I put it at my bedside and decided
to read it when I was ready.
I read it this morning after months of it sitting on my nightstand, and now
that my mind and spirit were open to hearing what it had to say, my final
analysis is this: WOW! It could not had been more accurate. I am truly amazed
at Liz Greene's analyzing skills and intuition. I feel you have made
astrology a true science.
Thanks you for easing my mind and feeding my soul.

I have been following the Robert Hand predictions for trying to make sense of
the events of my life. I have also experimented in trying out the extended
chart section. Just needed to know whether the F/B or Lahiri Ayanamsa for
sidereal correction actually corrects for the position of the planets on my

take into account the sidereal position of the planets. Please correct me if
I am wrong in my understanding.

First, I would like to thank astrodienst for its extremely informative web
site on astrology - you are the best (by far) of any site I have run across.
My question pertains to the composite chart between two individuals. I was
curious about my sibling relationship with my twin brother, but it seems that
the composite is the same as our natal chart. This makes sense in its
formula but leaves me in doubt on how to interpret it. Any suggestions.
Thank you.
John M i t c h e l l
Deming, WA, USA --- Monday, March 8, 2004 at 00:06 Universal Time
Alois adds: The composite chart does not work for twins. The only approach for
a relationship chart for twins, which I know that it works, is the one by our author Mona Riegger, as used in the report 'Horoscope for Two'. You can order
it from Astro Shop, we cannot offer it for free.
Mona's approach makes a distinction between 'the older' and 'the younger', which
is always defined with twins, even when born by cesarean section. Then she
reverts some elements of the Davison relationship chart for the younger one, getting two distinctive
charts that way. She is able to make very interesting deductions about the
relationship between the two. Not accidentally, Mona is the mother of twins.
I am the father of twins, by the way, and have sibling twins. This gives
me a natural interest on the subject.
Help....I was on your site the other night reading one of my free charts. I
found that I could click on any symbol and a small window popped up with an
explanation ie Saturn in the Seventh House.
Now I can't seem to get this info. Can anyone tell me how I did this. I can't
remember. Thanks

Hi. I need help to a website link if anyone should know it. I want to track
all the ephemiris days of planet squares/oppositions/conjunctions etc that I
have had in my life with each planet (excluding the moon due to its fast
transit --except for perhaps conjunction). I have used search engines in vain
to find an ephemiris for the Eastern Time Zone. All I seem to find are
Greenwich/Central Time Zone/and of course Alois' Swiss Time Zone.
All these are of course helpful for the people that live in those time zones,
but they add more work for people that live in other time zones, as hours
have to be subtracted (or added) and skews accuracy in all kinds of
directions. I want a link to ephemerises from 1974 to the present year and
beyond to 2020 for the Eastern Time Zone.
Also please if you can, tell me a link that does NOT have a pdf format. HTML,
GIF, JPG, JPEG, TXT, Wordpad, Wordperfect formats are all much better. I
tried Alois' pdf and I could not highlight any text at all in the Acrobatty
so that I could put dark blue (or whatever color I wanted) and leave the rest
the normal black, so that I could have the color stand out.
I want this as simple as using a manual highlighter with a book...so that I
can alter the color say around 22 scorpio versus other days. Anyone that can
be assisting towards an Eastern Time Zone ephemersis, I will provide my
gratitude in advance. Any research I can pursue on this will advance my own
skills in astrology and allow me to track down days in my past of
astrological transit, and days upcoming.
Thanks,

Alois adds: I think your best choice is Free Horoscopes -> extended chart selection -> group Astrodienst special -> Transit calendar for 3 years
Print out the PDF files, and then paint on them with colour as much as you like.
I think that ephemerides set for midnight Universal time serve easily
for the whole world. All you need to know is the offset between Universal time
and your local timezone, which is fixed. For eastern timezone, at midnight
Universal time (beginning of a new day), it is 7 PM in New York during
winter, and 8 PM in New York during US daylight saving time in summer,
the evening of the still previous day. I don't see why this should be hard
to handle.
All important transits are active for many days and weeks anyway,
and the precise hour is quite irrelevant. They don't usually show effects
by the hour and minute.
PS: The plural of 'ephemeris' is 'ephemerides'. But you don't need the
plural. An 'ephemeris' is a book of printed planetary position tables, i.e.
one ephemeris, e.g. for the whole century, contains already all the information
you need. In a bookstore, you might find several ephemerides,
but you only need one, really. Or lets say two, one for the 20th and one for
the 21st century, though there are some on the market covering 1900 - 2050.
This website is fantastic! Everytime I meet someone I connect with I get
their info and come to this site to see where there planets are. This
website has helped me to better understand myself, my relationships, the day
to day, and significant events.

Dear Alois, Thank you for your patience! Looking at an astronomy site,
there's quite a bit of excitement being generated by a Venus transit of the
sun on June 8th of this year, wherein Venus will glide across the face of the
Sun for the first time since Dec. 6th, 1882. (It'll be visible in Europe,
not the USA.) Astrologically, what would be different about this from any
other Sun/Venus conjunction? (With solar filters, the sight of it crossing
into and out of the corona should be awesome!)
Any ideas?
Sue O n e d e r
USA --- Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at 19:43 Universal Time
Alois adds: It is a 'mundane' Sun Venus conjunction, which happens about
twice a year in ecliptic longitude. Because Venus' orbit around the Sun is
slightly tilted versus the plane of the ecliptic (3°39') these conjunctions
in longitude are usually not exact in latitude, i.e. venus passes in most cases
a bit below or above the Sun, which has an apparent diameter of 1/2 degree.
This June, it happens to pass over the Sun's disk. Astrologically, this
has no particular relevance. Mundane Sun Venus conjunctions are so frequent
and regular, that they are not of much concern, even when one of them
is a bit closer than the others. Of course, for children born during the hours
of this transit, they will have a really close Sun-Venus conjunction in their
birth charts, and this will be effective forever in their personality.
But it is certainly interesting to watch. You need a solar eclipse filter
for your binoculars or telescope, large enough to cover the complete lenses
(the side where the light from the Sun comes in), too look directly into the Sun.
Last year, there was a Mercury transit over the Sun. I
together with my colleague Dieter. We are going to watch Venus too,
if the weather is OK.
[later] I just realized that I will be on vacation in the south of France
at that time, for a two week trip on a friend's boat. I can't take the big telescope along, a pair of binoculars
will have to do.

A warm hello and thank you for providing the free items at Astrodienst, as
well as, the affordable extended day choice. I have been studying Astrology
for a year and a half and have found your website sight and your Astro
Intelligence Horoscopes to be immeasurably helpful in my studies.
I have several questions:
Has there ever been any consideration towards making available a Liz Greene
non-intimate personal relationship horoscope?
Is there an email sign-up for seminar announcements?
I am very much interested in the Romancing the Stone: Alchemy and the Birth
Chart seminar.
Is there a library or resource for older Western Astrology books?
I consult Robert Hand's daily horoscope at an almost frightful rate and,
again, have found it immensely helpful as I have just begun looking at the
transits. I have noticed that some of the Saturn transits refer to seeking
the advice someone older and wiser. In my readings and experience I believe
these transits to also refer to someone younger as well. I realize this all a
bit nitpicky on my part (I am laughing) but this is my nature and, I believe,
a valid point.
I am currently in a relationship with someone seven years my senior and thus,
Saturn seems to leap off the page for me. I would apologize for bringing up
the issue, but I am trying give-up needless apologies. tee hee.
Thanks again for the website and for all of the books and horoscopes written
by Astro's Astrologers. I have gained a much better understanding of myself
thru them.
