I just ordered the astrotext portrait, love and forcast and absolutely love them all! They were very informative and I find that the information I received from them have already helped me decide what I can improve about myself. The information has also answered a lot of questions I've had about my life for a long time. Thanks!

Hi. My current interest is in composite charts (must be my 7th house stellium!) which I find fascinating and often illuminating. Other than Mr Hands fantastic book can you recommend other books/sites. Also my friend is about to marry and their composite sun and mercury are unaspected but both conjunct the descendant their venus is very strong - does this bode well in the long term? Also also where can i find more info on progressions? Thanks in advance for any help offered xx

Dear AstroDienst people,

I have encountered in your web site about a few days ago, and since then I am facinated from it's contents, reachness, depth and above all- your generosity.
Never else did I found something similar.
THANK YOU ALL!!!

I wanted to offer back some preceptions which I find rare, to those who may be interested-.
In nature everything phisical is born from the unseen worlds (energies, forces, radiations etc), and it's phisical manifastation implies and give lots of clues about it's unseen part. This may not be understood, but reading a few examples will help to add this up.
* The moon is very small and rarely has an atmosphere. Therfore if something hits it's face, it will echo for a long time. This implies that Cancer people at times tend to feel volnurable, even small. It may also take them longer to recover from emotional hit.
* The moon is very close to earth, the closest. This can imply that Cancer people enjoy being outdoors, close to nature, mother earth.
* Mars is associated with the Roman/ Greek god which it's main role was to protect ( not to initiate war). This might imply that Aries people have a natural capablity of defending themselves if needed.
*Mercury ( the metal) when confined ( thermomether etc.) is extremly precise. This implies that the Mercurian people esp. Vigo ( the negative of the 2 signs) will tend to have mental precision and be very sensitive to any change in the atmosphere.
* The god mercury was considered to be the fastest god in the Olympus. This can imply that the Mercurian people ( Virgo's Gemini's) will tend to have very fast mental abilities, and will be able to move between subjects at great ease.
* Earth-Water-Air-Fire and the natural qualities of each. And how it dresses up in the different signs. Aries- very spontaneous, warm, tends tosudden flickering , Leo's- have the attractive power of the fire, like the tribe fire which assembles everyone together around it, and the Sagitarious- what kind of fire will they have?

The atmosphere of the planets, their colors, density, distances from the sun, metals related to the signs, animals, legends to do with the galaxies (signs) the planets or their gods and so on.

Best wishes,

Carmit

I love astro.com, and enjoy your information. I haven't been able to find any articles however on the the Harmonic Concordance of 11/8/2003 which will show the star of david along with the lunar eclipse. It would be interesting to know what the experts think of this and what it reflects for humankind on our earth.

Thanks

Hello - I am sorry to bother but I ask for a little help.
Let me first say that I am an amateur and just started 2 years ago to get into the issue. Astro.com is a great service helping me much to improve my knowledge and experience.

Now my question:
I entered around 6 people (woman from my past and in my vicinity. Practically 90% of them are showing a certain aspekt n the partner horoscope. It is a sun/mercury conjunct. This strikes me. I need to know whether this is a beautiful coincidence or rather a technical problem or kind of logical in a way. Can someone help me with this?
Thanks to Madlen for her patience and greetings to all of you seekers of knowledge and experience. Nik

I am sad that after all these years and thousands of people who have visited your site you are still not offering readings for sidereal astrology. You probably have the site on the web that offers the richest diversity of services. [... ]

It is a sad time for astrology and for many ancient lost arts. I just wish you would give more space to jyotish astrology (ancient indian astrology, the original astrology and the oldest). I believe that it will bring you even more users if you can extend your vast array of services to the sidereal chart used in jyotish (or vedic) astrology and would bring them even greater satisfaction. [.. lengthy pro-Jyotish arguing edited by webmaster]

Alois adds: Our website is dedicated to the kind of astrology we practice. This is modern western psychological astrology.

We have published articles which highlight our position in the sidereal/tropical discussion.

We are aware that a large number of people in India and elsewhere practices Hindu astrology, also known as Jyotish, which uses a different planetary coordinate system, not related to the seasons and to the annual rhythms of the Sun's movement.

There are more talended programmers, and more astrologers in India than in any country of the west. If the need for Hindu astrology web services is so great, it is the duty of these people to fulfill it. It is not something we at Astrodienst are interested in.

The demand that Jyotish astrology elements should be introduced at www.astro.com is comparably to the demand that altars for the Hindu gods should be set up in mosques, synagoges or catholic cathedrals. I think it is better to keep those systems separate. Each of us is free to go where his/her preferences lie. Mixing everything with everything is not a necessarily a good concept.

Liz Greene is a wonderfully gifted human being, with incredible insight and intuition.

Liz, if you get to read this, I wanted to thank you for the report I just received in the mail. It was filled with valuable insight, some of which I knew to be true - other points served as valuable gateways into better understanding myself, my unconscious, my relationships, and my journey.

The first thing I do every morning upon waking is to check my astro scope. I highly recommend getting a personalized horoscope sent to you. The insight it will give you into yourself will prove to be an invaluable resource.

Alois adds: It is a fact that the rising sign of the zodiac at your birth time and location is Taurus. It is rising in the far north east, in a retrograde way (the last degrees of that sign rise before the first degrees).

There cannot be a normal set of Placidus house cusps displayed within the polar circle, but we took great care in our software that the Ascendant is always represented correctly: the rising degree of the zodiac, appearing in the eastern hemisphere of the sky.

Hello Astrodienst-

I love your interactive travel map. I have used it many times for myself and my friends. I was wondering if you could add a map covering the south Pacific. It is difficult to pin point Hawaii, Tahiti, American Somoa, Tonga, etc. on the world map. Perhaps it would be more trouble than it is worth to make such a map, but I thought I would ask. Thank you for your service.

I recently learned how to calculate solar and lunar returns (on your site) and have found them almost frighteningly accurate. After a very tense and difficult month involving a Moon-Neptune-Saturn yod I just calculated my December lunar return and saw that it has the same yod in different houses plus lots of squares. What confuses me is that my transits for December are mostly very positive (Saturn trine Venus and sextile Moon-Pluto, Pluto conjunct Mercury and sextile Saturn, Jupiter conjunct Moon-Pluto) - so which energies dominate? The configuration of the lunar (or solar) return or the transits?

Hallo Astrodienst

A very useful service to freely allow to check different time zones for all countries and dates all over the world. I was checking if you have some horoscopes of conjoined twins, or the general unusual births of multiple babies in one time. Yet I couldn't find anything on the website. Maybe you can help me, or anybody who might have those charts, please write to my e-mail personally.

I've been a staunch fan of astrodienst for 6 years, having the opportunity to provide a US published book to Mona Reigger, who hunted down my birth time from a Berlin hospital (a lovely gift). Periodically I MUST tell you how amazing this site is, and what a gift it is to the professional aspects of astrology. This is THE definitive site, it's the only place I go.

My horoscope today is so spot on I had to once again give you my kudos. Each aspect is strongly stated without wishy-washy disclaimers. My life is changing dramatically, my attitudes are shifting, and all this is clearly stated by you!

Alois, Mona, and all the astrologers who rest here, thank you, thank you, thank you. You are quite simply the best!

Does Astrodienst have a facility whereby you can find out exactly when a transit is happening? For eg if my sun is a 3 deg and 08 mins of Cancer and I want to find out exactly when a particular transiting planet will hit it. Please advise

Alois adds: Free Horoscopes -> extended chart selection -> group Astrodienst special -> Transit calender for 3 years (slow planets) or 6 months (all planets)

There are also other items which contain that information, e.g. graphical ephemeris with natal, or Transit-Cyclogram. The chart items differ in the way in which the dynamical behaviour of the transits is represented graphically.

Your service is incredible! I have just begun to learn and luckily found your site. I did a chart and the First House seems equally distributed between Leo and Virgo. It is an interesting coincidence that all three charts stored in your profile have a Leo ascendant!

Hello. I just wanted to direct this to PAUL SCHRANZ, FROM NORTH VANCOUVER: Solar Fire cusps always seem to be a bit out. I was just discussing this with another SF user the other day she says they use a different atlas or something - she couldn't remember the name, but personally, I have not been overly impressed with SF. Kepler seems to be a better more accurate program - and you'll find that your house cusps agree with those of Astrodienst, too. :) Also, Kepler will list the declinations the speeds, as well as parallel/contraparallel aspects more, right on the same page as the chart itself - very handy!

I belong to the Fraser Valley Astrology Guild which you can link to here: http://www.astrologyguild.com
We meet once a month in New Westminster if you are interested, you can get the info at our site, and are welcome to come attend one of our lectures.
----------------------

To those at Astrodienst: you have a terrific thing going here, thank you! But, I must ask: how does one go about entering specific orbs for either individual aspects or planets? Or at least a certain amount of degrees, rather than a percentage?

Thanks!

Roni  K.
BC, Canada --- Saturday, October 18, 2003 at 22:16 Universal Time

Alois adds: I have never seen a copy of Kepler, but I have one of Solar Fire, and like it a lot. If you buy it with the ACS atlas option its database is as good as can be.

I assume that Kepler is about equivalent. Both are probably far ahead of the rest of American astrology software.

To answer your question: We have no option to set personalized orbs - this kind of feature is only needed by professional astrologers, and I think they should rather buy some astrology software of their own. We cannot fulfil all the special wishes of professionals in our free service. We focus on the astrological needs of the wider public.

Hello Alois,

As always thank you for this site and the wonderful software.
I have a queation, regarding progressions.

In my natal chart, I have Venus and Mercury Direct first house and Mercury has now Progressed to my fourth house but Venus is still in First house, but changed signs.

I did a progressed chart 15 years from now and Venus is still in my first house. Just curious, why is that? The Rx planets have moved backwards and the stationary or Direct planets have progressed forward including the asteroids.

Maybe I have missed something.

Thank you!

Alois adds: You are mistaken. Your progressed Venus is now at 11 Aries and very near the cusp of the 3rd house which is at 12 Aries with Placidus houses. Just run Extended chart section -> natal and progressed, and look for the green planets in the outside ring around the chart, which are your progressed planets.

Did you possibly confuse the Venus glyph with the Chiron glyph?

There is no mystery about progressions. If you are N years old (I do not want to give away your age here), then find the progressed planets in the ephemeris at N days after your birthdate.

A lot of editing work is done by the seminar speakers on the transcription, both to add material which did not fit into the space of a one day seminar, and to anonymize confidential matters contributed by seminar participants, to protect their privacy while still allowing publishing of the essential discussions.

Dear Pamela Young, Dear All,

Regarding using relocation charts to explain Schwarzenegger's election victory: I used to not have an opinion on the subject, that is until having come across a chart of a very successful astrologer whom, having staid in the place of birth [in another continent], would hardly ever have become an astrologer at all or, at the most, would have become just another underground unknown astrologer, imho.

Come to think of it, if relocation charts didn't *really* work, what other use would they have for us, why else would have they been created and why would they still be in use after all these years? To find out what vibes would come out of being here or there? I don't think so....

Another thing that comes to mind is if Alois didn't believe in Astro*Carto*Graphy - he can speak for himself of course! - why else would have he dedicated tremendous amount of time and effort into building the interactive system that is now an important part of his web site?

Today I do think that if one consciously relocates to another place on earth, one might be decisevely contributing to a tremendous change in one's life and perhaps maximizing the possibility of successfully achieving one's own birth potential. I don't know, however, how long a period is needed for those energies to be well absorbed, one's mind be reset and the different reality to then be created...

Pam, if you're correct - and so I think from your explanation - then we can all put a smile in our faces since it seems to prove our friend Arnold is well in tune with the Universe.

Greetings to you all from Portugal

Alois,
Far be it for me to tell you anything about the website other than how wonderful it is and close to perfect , but I would very personally like to be able to search out when a particular aspect will occur in any given chart. You know, when will venus trine my sun, etc. How bout it?

River Ridge, LA, USA --- Monday, October 13, 2003 at 02:05 Universal Time

Alois adds: I may be old fashioned but I recommend the use of an ephemeris for such questions.

There are two points in the zodiac which are in trine to your Sun,, and each time Venus crosses these points you have the aspect. The trine points are at the same degree as your Gemini Sun, but in the other two air signs, i.e. Libra and Aquarius.

Becoming familiar with a printed ephemeris gives you more insight than clicking around on computer screens.

Does anyone know if birthtimes are written on birth certificates in Austria, as they are in Germany? I'm asking because I'd like to check if the birthtime given for Arnold Schwarzenegger in the Astrodatabank collection is accurate. The source is given as a colleague of Schwarzenegger's.

Now that Schwarzenegger has won the election to become governor of California, there is some debate over at Astrodatabank as to whether the stated time of birth is accurate, because it is felt by some that if it is, he should not have won. Some people have rectified the time to 8 AM, and all kinds of stuff.

Personally I feel that simply relocating his chart to Los Angeles could account for the win. I know Alois doesn't think much of using relocated charts, but in this case it means that Schwarzenegger's Sun, Saturn, Pluto and Venus all move into his seventh house, with Venus very close to the Descendant, and it puts Jupiter into the tenth house. It moves transiting Saturn from the twelfth house to the sixth, and thus it will cross into the seventh rather than the first. Consequently, instead of entering a period of obscurity, as would normally be predicted when Saturn enters the first, he is entering a period of increased responsibility, and a climb to power. (Could the rules be changed to allow for him to become the first non American-born President? )

Anyway, just thought I should find out for sure, if possible, if the birthtime being given is in fact accurate, since otherwise there's no point in discussing the whole thing.

Alois adds: Birth times are officially registered at the birth registry offices, both in Germany and Austria. They are usually not printed on birth certificates - you have to inquire at the registry office to get the time.

I see no reason to doubt the information given by Astrodatabank, 4:10 am.

I have many times in my life thought I had It figered out. But nothing has ever helped me more than what I found out when i started doing my friends and I charts. I actually moved my family of four to where it was best for all of us to live. I have also changed other peoples lives by turning them on to this web sight. You guys have the most acurate astrology that I have every seen. And I have been seeing astrology charts since I was a kid in the early 80's. I enjoy this web sight fully and give it a 10+. This type of advanced contemporary astrology could actually change the world. I also incorporate feng shui , numerology, and faith in the mystery of religion in to my life and I'm starting to create some kind of balance. Anyway, thank you very much, and keep up the good work. Buying the services for the extended forecasts doesn't give you much. I notice that there are no additional forecasts added and the Long Term Influences, as before, often don't show up until near the end of an influence. I love this site and wish this could be corrected. For instance, I have been checking my long term influences over the past months. There is a long-term influence showing up today that hasn't been there previously, although it started in August! I would love to know why this is so. Here's the long term influence that only showed up today:

Mercury in the 3rd House
activity period from beginning of August 2003 until 10 October 2003.

I like your work very much, but when I do my map, there's an error - you consider the day I was born here in Brasil ( 7 of march of 1953 ) like summertime, using the Almanaque Pensamento as a reference, but most of the books I read and astrologers I went say that that summertime ended at the final of february. So there will always be error in the interpretation of my map if this summertime is considered. could you please check this information?

Hi Astrodeinst Team

My congragulations for the wholesome astrology site. I believe it has stood the test of time for about 20 years. That is really commendable.

I have been personally using this site for lot of my homework in Astrology. I did like to express my gratitude for the same.

I wanted to know whether is this facility available on the site:
The astroclick potrait uses the Placidus house system for the chart construction. Is it possible to have astroclick potrait with say vedic / equal / Koch house system.

Mine is a simple request, I hope! Would it be possible to make our personal daily horoscope printer friendly? That is to ... eliminate all else like pictures etc. which use up a lot of one's ink cartridge. I don't always want to print a day's report but sometimes I just have to!

Thank you, also, so much for this wonderful site, I am so glad that young woman was perusing astrological stuff at 'Barnes and Noble when I came along. Bless her, she was there to give me your web site ...in addition to whatever else she was doin there, of course!

Thank you again, Samantha Vadnais

A few weeks ago, I received a deluxe natal chart analysis from a well known professional, level 4 NCGR astrologer(not astrodienst), that was done in true node and koch housing, which I thought was supposed to be most accurate for time.
But, I was confused because it seemed that 2 of the trine aspects that I was supposed to have were not even shown in the report. (Mercury trine Saturn, Moon trine uranus). I was just wondering how this is possible?
I had a basic chart done many years ago and they were there, and when I checked your free chart selection and the interactive charts, they are there as well. Can it be that they were just left out, or do some astrologers count aspects differently, or does charting in placidus versus koch change the aspects?
When I order a career chart from you service, can I specify koch method, or does it matter when picking a vocation? I know my nodes, and my moon changes houses from placidus to koch. Thank you so much for such a great website!

liebes astro-team,

i have found that synastry relationship charts are very accurate. i have found that composite chart energies are not felt immediately upon meeting someone. is this something you can identify with? i have a 2nd question, my friend that i like and me have in SYNASTRY: his Mars is opposition my Venus AND his Venus is opposition my Mars, so does this double the affects of the Mars - Venus opposition? I am wondering if there is a way to see the Hawaiian Islands with the location map? I can see the USA with 'all aspects' but Hawaii is not included. I can only see the Islands with the world map, and then I can't see 'all aspects' .

Your website is really good one!
I was born on the 19th of April, 1976 at about midnight in Vietnam. According to other astrologers ( using birth time and places ), my sun sign is Taurus. But by your calculation, my sign is Aries. Can you suggest why?. Cheers!!!

To Paul of Vancouver, re your ascendant discrepancy: I also have Solar Fire, so I checked your data. I use Placidus myself, not Porphyry, but I got an ascendant of 9 degrees Leo for you, and when I did it again using Astrodienst I got 20 degrees Leo. This is very weird! I don't think I've ever come across it before. Alois is on vacation for a week, and until he gets back nobody's answering guestbook questions, so when he's back, maybe he can figure it out.

AstroDienst states the Ascendent as 20degrees Leo. I think this is a mistake. SolarFire and other astrology software states the Ascendent as 8degrees Leo.

Any comments?

Very comprehensive site, thank you very much. I've been wondering about some basic concepts: we have the aspects of the current astronomical bodies, we have our natal chart aspects, we have the aspects to our natal chart positions, we have our progressed chart and the transits to those aspects. How do these influences compare and how do they differ?
Can you recommend any good reading? I'm getting dizzy with all these motions and angles. Thanks!

I have had astrocartography work done several times, by computer, and by an individual recently. In all cases, the maps provided are no more detailed or clear than what is on the screen here at astrodienst. Without more cities or other geographic details on the maps, it is very very hard at times to tell exactly where a line is running. And since the maps are relatively small, a quarter of an inch amounts to significant movement over land and away from the line. I get out other maps, thenormal ones with more geographic features and squint at my astro maps or the ones on the screen and try to figure out where the lines are, let's say in Australia, by guessing back and forth between the two. But without any further detail on the map, its reallyguessing. Where can I get a more detailed map in the background of my astrocartography charts? In some cases it is pretty clear, but with lines in less populated zones, it is too difficult.

Hi,
I had a chart done for my child, it was awesome. I was wondering if anyone has ever done a chart regarding an event such as doing a settlement on a house? I plugged it in as an event chart, and it was interesting that when we made settlement back on 8-15-95 (11:09am est- Woodbury,NJ USA) Libra was rising (both my hub and I have Libra Moons), so there is also a 10th house sun and venus-both in Leo), and the moon in the 7th. This has been a place where we've evolved a tremendous amount- we are very different people than we were when we moved in8 years ago. Maybe you all could offer it.
Thanks

Hello-

I had ordered a report from you back in April. It was very comprehensive and informative. It was also supplied online which was great. Thanks. However, I think that the Longitude and Latitude of my birth city is different. I would like to know if the report can be adjusted. Also I have searched on your site for the correct coordinates and it seems that the information you have may be a bit off hence creating a different report. In essence the coordinates that I have obtained are more detailed and the signs and houses are not the same if the new info. is used to calculate a chart. Is it possible to use these new coordinates? Thank you in advance.

Beth

Alois adds: Please be specific about the name of the town, and the coordinates used or preferred by you. In general, small variations of coordinates have zero relevance. Most errors and complications in charts come from false timezones or incorrect information about daylight saving time. In this respect, Astrodienst has very reliable information.

Of course, if we made an error due to a fault on our end, we replace products for free. In case of customer error (e.g. you pulled the wrong place from a selection list) we charge modest 25% of the original price for a replacement.

The correct address for any such matters is order*astro.ch via email, not the guestbook.

Hi! I love the site so much! Happy anniversary -). I have not had much time to check things out on here lately though. I was wondering if any medical astrology articles have been written than I may have access to.
I have a major problem that is really scaring me. I am loosing MASSIVE amounts of hair - by the handfuls all day long. I can't wear anything dark anymore because it is so bad :(. I have ruled out every cause except a thyroid test which I am going to get tomorrow. I have been looking at my chart to try to figure out how my placements may relate to this. I am not sure which planet rules over hair - I have heard that Mercury does and also that Venus does. I was thinking more like Pluto would atleast be a co-ruler because of regeneration. I have been keeping an eye on my eight house placements. I have natal Mercury, Sun, and Saturn there and Mercury and Jupiter transitting it. I also have Pluto in the 9th and Sun and Venus transitting there. I am just trying to put a connection with the lotsa and the hair plus regenertation (hopefully it is growing back as it falls back - more than what it normally grows!). I am not educated in this field yet though and am not good at exact angles, ect that may be hitting right now.
Will someone please help me with this and let me know id it may stop soon! If it is not my thyroid, astrology is my last hope to get a grip on why this is happening.

Alois adds: I suspect you asked for the wrong thing.

You should not have asked for 'birth certificate' - these documents are always issued without birth time.

You should have asked for 'copy of birth registry information, including birth time'.

It is absolutely certain that for all births after 1905 the time IS ON RECORD in Germany - except when the books were destroyed by fire.

Every time I visit this site I feel a wave of gratitude to the team at Astrodienst. If the majority of your two million monthly visitors experience the same, then the universal law of cause and effect will be working very much in your favour. A very happy twentieth anniversary to you all.

While Liz Greene works closely with us in developing the reports, and in expanding our 'understanding astrology' section, she is not a team member working actually at our offices every day. This is why she is missing in the office tour picture show. For our weekly meeting I usually go to her house.

I'm particularly interested in the Astro Travel program. Do you have the next level of analysis, what I believe would be called Locational Astrology? Where I am now has been an unproductive roller coaster the past ten years. My daughter is also interested in what place would give her the best advantage.

If you don't provide this service, is there a type of software you could recommend for this purpose?
