zu erfahren, insbesondere den synthetischen. Welche Qualitäten birgt dieser
Aspekt? Ich habe festgestellt, dass sich dieser Aspekt durch mehrere

I wonder why it is not possible to save the wonderful astrocharts after
having them constructed on your webpage. I would love to save them on a
diskette and take them to the office for printing. Can you advise me on
this?
Also, how to access BCE ephemeris, that is, those before the common era? I
am doing some biblical research and the time scale takes me beyond your 700
yrs printable ephemeris you most generously provide on the Net. I know of no
websites that provide BCE data. Please help!

Alois adds: There is a map for Asia. Even if there was not, the world map
is absolutely sufficient. The space resolution of the astro-map technique
is only about 200 miles, so there is nothing gained by high resolution
maps.

asteroid tables yesterday-and in my personal horoscope the asteroid Monica
lands exactly on my Sun/Neptune midpoint asteroid Andersen on my Mars/Chiron
midpoint. I first took up astrology in 1975 and its still my favourite

Just a little note regarding your use of the English language: I have
noticed in some of your daily forecasts lately the erroneous use of the term
half-cocked. You continually refer to going off half-cooked. The correct
term is going off half-cocked, ie. as in a gun going off before it has been
fully set to be fired. This term usually refers to someone losing their
temper without thinking things through too clearly. Half-cooked refers to
food that is still partially raw in places.
I love your website, your forecasts and your lovely natal charts. Keep
up the good work!

Alois adds: Thanks for pointing out this error. Robert Hand's original text
in 'Planets in Transit' has 'half-cocked'. It was probably changed by our
editor when the shortened descriptions for the daily horoscope were created.
I have corrected it. I wonder
how many of our readers will understand the term 'half-cocked'.
Our editor obviously did not.
I am glad to have finally gotten some personal attention. My requests for
the addition of the Planetary Hour to your ephemeris didn't receive any, so I
figured I'd show off a bit. Please, I am having the greatest trouble
calculating a table that will accurately tell me which planet is ruling the
current hour for Horaries. I am sure I am not the only chap who looks to
this site for answers to questions. Can you put in a word to the programmers
on my behalf???

You will have noticed that horary is not exactly in high esteem at Astrodienst,
we do not understand or practise it. It is unlikely that you will find
support for horary among our services any time soon. I recommend you get yourself some PC software which does what you need.
I am currently doing a few charts for friends who have had children recently.
The two grand trines located in there leave me with the feeling I'm missing
something.
What is the significance of a grand trine,and how often do two happen in the
same chart?

Finally got around to reading Liz Greene's analysis of the September 11th
tragedy. I found it very well written and soothing to the soul. It was also
great to see George Bush's chart/progressed chart out for all to see. I had
heard that he had a 12th house sun...I hope that he does not become a
'victim', rather, that he chooses to serve others in a selfless way. I also
would love for US officials to get a chance to read this analysis. Any way
to leak the article, to say, the Wall Street Journal? Just a wishful
thought....

If you have the opportunity could you comment
on the following.
At the same time as this horrific event in the USA, one of two major
Australian airlines (Ansett) financially collapsed leaving thousands without
work, many more stranded short and long term, and all their planes grounded.
I realise this in no way reflects the tragedy in the USA, but found the
similarities ie airline/planes/endings thought provoking.

Your site was the first to introduce me to the concept of the composite
chart, and although I find it illuminating in some respects there is one
majore flaw that needs to be pointed out. Granted the aspect interpretations
are general and are parts of the whole, the composite chart offers so many
contradictory interpretations that it may render your composite chart
illegitimate. From the composite chart that I did one planetary aspect will
indicate a relationship bound tightly, but then with another planetary aspect
it will say quite the opposite. The composite chart is different from
synastry, (isn't it?) and I'm wondering if Astrodienst could make a synastry
service. Once again, great site.

Alois adds: Astrogeography is a somewhat questionable area of astrological lore. After
all, there are only 12 signs but about 200 countries. I do not know which
one is assigned to Ireland.
I have asked my friend Hans Taeger, a highly intuitive astrologer living
in Ireland. He assigns Sagittarius, representing Irelands spiritual potential.
I am confused... What is the difference between the house # listed in the
Planetary Positions section of my report vs. under the House
Positions(Placidus) section and which ones are used for the wheel/chart
drawing?
For example, the Planetary Position section states: Sun in Gemini in 12th
house, but under the House Positions it states: 12th House Taurus. Also, in
the Planetary Positions section some houses have multiple occupants while
others houses are vacant vs. the House Positions section which has a single
occupant in each of the 12 houses.
I'm not looking for an interpretation of the placements, I am just confused
about the differing house #s. I did read through your intro to astrology,
but I haven't the answer yet. It seems that the more I learn about astrology
the more confused / dangerous I get!!
There is sooooo much to learn. Thank goodness you have taken so much of the
work off our shoulders with your web site!

Alois adds: If you LOOK AT THE CHART you will see that houses and sign do NOT COINCIDE.
A house may begin in Taurus but will extend to some part into Gemini (possibly
even into Cancer) and a Gemini Sun may be in that house.
The 'house position section' is a list of 12 house cusps. Whether anything
is IN THE HOUSES does not depend on the location of the houses but on the
positions of the planets which are totally independent.
As a more familiar example: Your own home will probably
have a kitchen, a living room and a sleeping room. The postion of those rooms can
be located on a map of the building. Wether anyone is in a particular room
at any given time does not depend on the layout of your living space but on the
behaviour of its inhabitants.

wonderful. Is there other services on the internet doing with study, such as
the position of a daily planet and its aspects, house, sign and other studies
such as mid points and how this info. is derived that gives that kind of

I just want to say, besides the fact that Liz Green is phenomenal, that I did
the same chart for 8:45 and then heard from one of the military, perhaps
Colin Powell, state that the attack actually took place at 8:48 AM. I
personally find that chart (8:48) much more appropriate for what occurred.
Differences in house cusps plus house positions of Mercury and Pluto make
major differences and convinced me that 8:48 is the correct time.
Regardless, any interpretation by Liz Green is a wonderful astro lesson to
me. I would like to see what she thinks of the later time. Thanks, S. Kane

Alois adds: Thanks for the feedback. Strangely, several times go around,
between 8.43 to 8.48, but for the chart this makes really so little difference
that it is not relevant (try it out yourself). It is kind of surprising
that the precise timing of the first hit is not better known.
Liz Greene is hoping that Bush might be the right president in the current
climate. So do I.
Unfortunately ten days after the criminal attack,
his only answer towards crime is WAR, WAR, WAR, applaused by the full
congress.
Probably exactly what the terrorists were aiming for: the collapse of the
western social and economical system.

I love all the free charts, as well as the interactive astology options, and
was trying them out today. I was a little amused and chagrined to see that
the entry for twelfth house Sun included this advice, however:
Sun in the Twelfth House
. . .You are urged to make an about face and confront your own accumulated
history. Take some time for introspection. It may result in a purification
process accompanied by some remorse of conscience.
I don't know if it's all due to my twelfth house Sun, but I'm about as
introspective as they come, myself. The thought of being encouraged to
examine myself as though it was a novel activity made me smile. Perhaps I
have some unusual perspectives of the twelfth house. I'm happy to say there
are some positives to the twelfth house placement, as I realize your staff
agrees.
I do wonder, though, about whether the above suggestion will ring as useful
for the majority of those with twelfth house Sun. We tend to be very well
aware of our own inadequacies! Those who are in early stages of spiritual
evolvement will probably feel, along with this inadequacy, that they are at
the mercy of forces far larger than themselves, and thus, despite
introspection, will probably fail to identify areas of remorse of conscience.
Our culture does not seem to incline us to appreciate the validity of our
tininess, our lostness, in comparison to the infinite. As I see it, the

conscience, but rather to define our individual interests, to determine to

I must say that I am also a bit disappointed in Liz's analysis.
The planets are not merely symbols of events unfolding on Earth. They are
the timing forces to which all cyclical activity on this planet is
synchronized.
The only chart which shows with any degree of accuracy what happened in New
York on Sept 11th is the one for the time of the event. A hidden enemy (12th
house, ruled by Mercury), from overseas (9th house also ruled by Mercury),
crashed (Saturn, in the 9th house of long distance travel) airplanes into 2
buildings (Ascendant).
Overlooked previously, Jupiter (ruler of the 3rd house of media and
communication, and 6th of the nation's military, squares the ascendant from
the 10th of the nation's leader) he is in Cancer, the sign of his exaltation.
The Part of Fortune is also in the 10th house.
It is this astrologer's opinion that the current military action taking place
in America is an excuse for the president to divert taxpayer funds towards a
larger defense budget. He is goading gullible Americans into a wild goose
chase to rid the world of evil-doers. That is a quote from a recent speech.

that as one country rides off into the sunset holding a Wanted, Dead or Alive
poster, that the rest of the world will temper the approach with some
Geminian intelligence. The opposition of Pluto and Saturn has brought more
than the current terrorism. Global warming is escalating to crisis level
following our abuse of our environment. (Pluto, the vengeful face of mother
nature) and unless ALL countries are prepared to be involved in the control
of greenhouse gasses, we will undoubtedly see more places in which a desert

that in the last 2000 years, this opposition occurred along the
Gemini/Sagittarius axis twice, once at 29-30 A.D. and also at 1266-1267.
Obviously the 29-30 A.D. period represented possibly the greatest religious
change in human history and 1266-67 also marked major turmoil with regard to

I don't have a chart for the USA to work from, but I seem to remember it
having a Gemini ascendant, and possbily Moon in Aquarius (?). Saturn is in
Gemini at the time of the attack, in the 9th house of foreign affairs,
trining Neptune and Uranus in Aquarius. Mercury is rising in Libra, in exact
trine to Saturn. Mars has also just moved into Capricorn, after an extended
stay in Sagittarius. Although he is exalted there (in Capricorn), I can't
help but wonder if exaltation to Mars is the increased ability to bring about
fires, bloodshed, and war. Certainly there is an unprecedented (as far as my
23 years have seen) flood of nationalism sweeping even the most liberal and
tolerant reaches of the country. New Yorkers (already a course lot), must be
in a militant frame of mind. Pray for peace as Mars transits Capricorn, and
continue as he conjoins the heavy planets in Aquarius. These next three
months will change the world.

I feel that the aim of the terrorists/fundamentalists is to incite a holy war
and then mount more suicide attacks there is nothing they want more than to
have the US send its precious youth into battle and death and waste its
resources for better things. Let's not give them what they want let true
justice prevail. Which is not to say turn the other cheek. I would also like
to point out that Christian fundamentalists in this country seem to be happy
about the prospect of holy war as well I saw some of them on local tv,
certainly the comments by Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell sadly reflect views
as extremely troubled and paranoid as any Islamic fundamentalist. They want
Revelations to be a self-fulfilling prophesy, though blaming Godless
homosexuals and liberals in the US instead of even more inflammatory rhetoric
against Muslims seemed laughably polically correct. Again, let's not give
fundamentalists of any stripe what they crave what with their chosen people
and holy war. Talk about the Shadow indeed. I look forward to insightful
comments by Liz.

If you check out Lois Rodden's site, www.astrodatabank.com, you will find
several dates given for the birth of Osama Bin Laden in the comments on the
chart of the attack on the World Trade Center. The one most frequently given
is July 30, 1957, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, but March 10, 1957, and April 7,
1957 are also given, with a time of seven PM for the latter. The March 10
date comes from the Interpol website, although in experimenting with them I
found the April 7 date looked the most likely of the three. Of course, they
could all be wrong.

It is possible to have a horror for the dreadful catastrophe that has
happened in New York, a great sympathy for the death and suffering, and a
loathing of what could have allowed it to happen, without having to support
the inevitable further slaughter we now all await. I support Marie Josephines
statements - with our hearts we can feel the pain, but with our minds we can
realise that this is all a manifestation of the seemingly inevitable
conditions of physical life on earth (saturn, pluto etc) that seems to

I believe it is entirely appropriate, along with expressions of shock and
grief, to speak of the Shadow. This has nothing to do with whether you happen
to live in Australia, Canada, or the United States. The Jungian Shadow knows
no national or ethnic borders. That is exactly the point, it is much deeper
than that and it is about ALL of us. A chart drawn for 8:00 am on Sept 11
2001 shows a T-square with Saturn/Pluto opposed and Sun squarely between
them. Jupiter is the cosmic trigger at 11 Cancer (150 degrees from Pluto.)
All four elements are involved, 3 of the planets involved are in Mutable
signs and the 4th (Jupiter) is in a Cardinal sign. The symbolism of the
airplane flying like an arrow shot from Sagitarius the Archer's bow into the
Twin towers of Saturn in Gemini is all too clear. This is an event of mythic
proportions. Let us grieve, and let us pray for the birth of a new
consciousness to arise from the ashes of this devastation.

Would Liz Green care to comment on the Saturn/Pluto opposition currently
sitting with Pluto firmly on USA ascendent and Saturn equally exactly on USA
descendent. I have heard/read her material regarding Pluto/Saturn and its
relevance to the psychological function of the Shadow. The comments made by
Marie Josephine are quite accurate and therefore painful in that they raise
the issue of the Shadow, which is never easy to accept or own. In this
instance United States Shadow seems to be around the issues of 'Religious
Fundamentalism' and 'Cowardly attacks from afar on innocent civilians'. The

People outside the USA may not realize the significance of the selection of
Tuesday's date for the terrorist attack - September 11 translates into 9/11
in the American way of writing dates, and 911 is the emergency number that
people in the USA use to call for help, as people in Britain would call 999.
From that point of view, the day of disaster is the result of cold-hearted,

My sincere and heart felt thanks goes out to all of the people at
Astrodienst. On September 11, I along with all of America was in a state of
shock. When I open your site which I visit regularly, I was so touch by your
compassionate comments on this horrible tragedy.
I am looking forward in viewing the astrological picture of this tragedy. We
need no many answers to our many questions at this sad time. It would be

Dear Liz,
Thank you very much for your and Astrodienst heart felt words of sorrow, for
the tradegy that we all are feeling and are so very much shocked by. I look
forward to the astrological picture of what happened on September 11, 2001.
Some things that I noted dealing with the numbers of the day or the 11th day,
Airline #11, and the WTC had (sadly had) 110 stories. I would also like to
know if this year, being the true beginning of the 21st century, has a
significance in this event. I pray that as a nation we learn from this. I
pray that we understand that this event has affected and continues to affect
all of us, regardless of race, creed or color and the reprecussions will be
felt by all of us for a long time to come. The healing of this nation can
begin on many, many levels, if we can get past our egos, attachments and
ancient perceived ideations,that have torn this country apart. Prejudice is
an ugly this for anybody to live with. I pray that we take this as an
opportunity to look at how we treat each others as neighbors, friends,
business associates, customers, consumers, and family. Black, White, Brown,
Red, and Yellow have all felt this tradedy. What values do we hold that
could have allowed such an disease as four commerical (ours) airplanes to be
used against us like this? I pray that we look at ourselves as one nation,
under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all and actualize those
words in all of our actions.

Just wanted to say thanks to the Mountain Astrologer Magazine and Rob Hand in
particular
for his article on the Saturn opp. Pluto. If anyone can get a hold of the
Aug./Sept issue, or check out the Mountain Astrologer website, you
will be amazed at the pictures he chooses to use,
even having the glyph of Pluto on a skycraper!

The indescribable hatred behind the act which led to the veritable
catastrophy we all unbelievingly witnessed yesterday live on TV, was,
