Astrodienst Online Feedback Area Archive August 2001
Your response to IRWIN A. WEISBERG [ IWEISBERGHVC.RR.COM ] about your ad
using mother theresa is as follows.
Alois adds: I do not know what you are talking about. Which ad? Astrodienst
is not advertising anywhere.
Your AD is says see our sample charts I believe. Your site is an
advertisement for seminars and charts, the short reports are advertisements
to buy longer reports,readings, etc.
Please cut out the wise cracks, read the email and respond like you know what
others are asking. You come across as hasty, insensitive and frankly, like
you don't want to take time to do a good job.

Thank you for a response to my feedback, however, you did not respond to
either question. Please reread my feedback as I never questioned the logic of
timezones. I merely asked if they can be posted on the chart because they do
vary.
Also, my initial problem with your database in the accounting part of my
astro was not addressed. Thank you in advance for rereading and considering
my actual question.

Alois adds: Sorry if I was reading to superficially.
Each chart contains a data area with the birth time in local
time, and the birth time in UT. The difference between both is your timezone.
On data entry, the time type (standard, war time, daylight saving time etc)
is given explicit in words. You can access it any time later by 'edit natal data'.
For your data deletion problem I have no answer. If I don't have an
answer to a question, I often do not answer.
I think you are doing something strange.
In this month of August, 1.05 million people have used our website, and NOT
reported this kind of problem. This makes me believe that the problem is
on your end, not on ours.
For bug reports, please use the
feature at the bottom of most pages, to report a problem. The process of problem
reporting will ask you to include detailed step-by-step instructions (recording
every keypress or mouseclick) so that we can reproduce exactly what you are
doing. Without such details we cannot reproduce your problem, and without
observing the same problem, we cannot investigate it.
This site is extraordinary--don't change a thing (unless you want to add more
stuff, of course)!
I have one question that I can't find an answer for in any astrological
literature: if my Moon sign (or Ascendant) is a sign that is normally
incompatible with my Sun sign, do I stand an improved chance of getting along
with and understanding people that have my Moon and/or Ascendant as their Sun
sign? As an example, my Sun is Cancer, Moon Sagittarius, and Ascendant Leo.
Normally, neither Sagittarius nor Leo Sun signs fare very well with Cancer
Suns however, does my Sagittarius Moon and Leo Ascendant make this less of a
hangup with these types of Sun signs than it would for the typical Cancer?
Frankly, I'm doubtful, since I definitely recognize my qualities as a Leo
Ascendant but, almost across the board, have loathed every Leo Sun sign I've
ever had to deal with. How does this factor in, or does it at all, and why?
Travis Brashear (visiting www.astro.com)

Alois adds: A birth chart is a rather complex web of patterns. As I don't
subscribe to the concept of 'incompatible signs' I cannot really answer you.
The answer to why you 'loath' something outside is most likely to be found
inside, in the area of non-integrated shadow elements of your personality.
Great Site! Keep up the good work. Does anyone know of a good online chat
room for astrology?

Hi,
You have a wonderful website with some of the best stuff out there.
But one matter of sensitivity occurred to me when your ad used the chart of
Mother Theresa as an example. I am not Catholic, but Mother Theresa was a
nun, whose vows to the Church certainly did not include approval of
astrology. Perhaps you should consider a different chart, one that would not
insult the beliefs of a person like her, and the many Catholics who share her
dogma. I am an astrologer, incidentally, so I am only talking about good
taste and not wishing to offend the beliefs of others. Most charts would not
run afoul of this.
Best wishes and lucky stars,

Alois adds: Regarding this supposed ad, I do not know what you are talking about. Which ad? Please give
a URL. Astrodienst is not advertising in magazines or on other websites.
For the matter itself, I think it would be perfectly legitimate to read
the chart of a public figure independent of the question whether this
person believed in astrology or not. Mother Teresa excelled in marketing,
and accepted many kinds of publicity, even when it focused on her as a person
and not just on her cause.
About the church and astrology: There have been popes who where active
astrologers. I know personally some
catholic priests practising it more or less professionally.
Many things go on in the
church which are not officially approved, I can assure you. Some of its
enlightened members are far more open minded than you seem to think.
I very much enjoy reading my free daily horoscope on your site. Of all the
forecasts offered by astrologers and pseudo-astrologers, I find yours to be
the most comprehensive. Is there any way I can know what phase the moon was
in on the night of my birth? Thanks.

Alois adds: The phase of the Moon is represented by the angle between the
Sun and the Moon in your birth chart, starting at the Sun, counterclockwise.
Zero degrees will be a new moon, 90 degrees a growing half moon, 180 degrees
a full moon, etc.
A great big Thank You for your awesome site! The young people in my life
especially love it, and they are learning about the value of Astrology at an
early age, when they are still open minded.

Dear Alois,
I hate to quibble with near perfection, but the sun is in Virgo. With the
long-term influences - I really notice these influenes and appreciate your
descriptions. I think you work on the top (3) influences working at any one
time ??? Just wondering.
I'm asking, cos, the other day, I had Mars trine Mars which was a long range
very positive angle ! However, it only showed up on the day it was FINISHING
this aspect ! Too bad that this is a great time to put extra energy into
projects etc. etc. -- I was listening to the Pluto trine Moon every day, and
some other long range ones, and didn't even know about the Mars one! even
though I could kind of feel it!
If there are more than 3 long-term influences, could the important ones (eg.
more than 2 months) go in every day please ? or something like that ?
cheers and love always

Thank God I found this site! It´s absolutely wonderful and among my favorite
top 3 sites. I know you must have a great and accurate database, but I´m
still a little skeptical about something being the fact that I live in a

certain. Thanx.

Fenais da Ajuda, Portugal --- Friday, August 31, 2001 at 02:06 Universal Time (UT/GMT)
Alois adds: Matters like time zone rules on small islands are not unknown to
us, because we specialize in these
questions. Portugal had no daylight saving time between 1966 and 1976; only
1977 it was resumed. Azores followed mostly the Portugal mainland with a few
special rules.
I've been having some problems with account deletions in my Astro. For
example, I delete a name (I click yes I'm sure I want the name deleted) and
then add a new one and after all is filled out and double checked it returns
me to my list with the OLD name still there. The new name is not. Also,
sometimes I click on a name and it will bring up the chart for an old one
that was supposed to be deleted and is not on the list any longer.
I was also wondering if would it be possible to have the charts give the time
zone as well. Someone born in 1948 in New Jersey would have DST time observed
but not in Mpls or Oregon. If the time shows only 6:14 am with no indication
of CST or not, it is not reassuring. Especially in light of how databases, as
stated above, can and do have gliches.
Thanks much for your time.

The best seminars eventually find their way into

CPA books.
There is no intention to tape or broadcast any seminars. These are events

When seminar transcripts are published, they are edited in such a way that
the participant's information is anonymized.

set of natal records, which all fit on one screen (less than 10 records) and
there is no need for alphabetic order in these cases. If we see that many

Alois adds: The position of the Moon at a specific degree of the zodiac at
your birth time is a FACT OF NATURE. It can only be computed right or wrong.
Your Moon, 'N', is computed at 23 Sagittarius. Your Sun ist in Capricorn.
Probably you are confusing planets.
Astrodienst knows how to compute correct horoscopes for any part of the world
for any date. This is what we do since 21 years for a living, and we are THE
experts for the field of astrological (and astronomical) computing.
For some parts of the world, there are some historical times with uncertainty
of one hour daylight saving time or timezone information. This would affect
the Moon's position by 1/2 of a degree. Australia however has no areas
of uncertainty.
Planetary positions are not open to opinions like 'I would want it rather there than here'.
You need to get yourself reborn if you don't like your current planetary
positions, I am afraid.

I have a quick question, I have a friend who is currently have a transit of
Neptune Trine Saturn (Saturn being in her natal 11th house) But on her natal
chart, Saturn is in opposition to Neptune. Will the affect of the natal
opposition have an affect on her benefits with the current transit with
trine? Or will it heighten the restrictions of the natal aspect of Saturn
opposing Neptune? Any comments would be appreciated!

Buches im Blick. Es handelt sich um Alan Leo's Astrologisches Lehrbuch Nr. 4,

nicht das aktuellste. Leo gibt hier u.a. konkrete Deutungen zu bestimmten

Dear Astrodienst,
Yours is the only chart generating site on the web that I really trust
because you know all the obscure time-zones. I visit your site often.
Thanks for making this service available. However, there are two points I
would like to mention. The computer-generated personality profiles don't
seem to even come close to the individual's true personality, and you had a
much better selection of charts a year ago. I really miss the aspect chart.
I'm glad I printed one for myself before that option disappeared. Is there
any chance that you might bring it back? Once again, please don't take this
criticism personally. I truly love your site.

Hello,
Pulled up lots of fun charts, I havent looked at my solar return in 10 years
almost. That was interesting. Then I went short report surfing. With a moon
in Scorp and a capricorn rising I never expect a particularly charitable
review but little did I know how harsh and ruthless I am! Can we please
review the stereotypes that were established for these signs during the same
time women were deemed to generally be handmaidens of satan? (and if you
still believe this is true feel free to disregard this entire post and go
back to whatever it is you do) This is an awesome site and I often recommend
it to people as a very useful source. I also am grateful to Liz Greene
especially for her book 'Saturn, an new look at an old devil'.In fact it is
part of the reason Im so very shocked at finding the most negative
reading(regardless of the fact it was short and computer generted) I have
ever experienced about my chart. It seems ridiculous that even as I extole the
generosity of this site I
have to warn people not to take the personal profile even remotly seriously,
which of course impacts an individuals decision to purchase an in depth
report.
A drop in the bucket, im sure....

This material has nothing to do - and nothing in common - with e.g. a report

If you visit a bookshop, you may find some book
which you dislike; you cannot really draw conclusions from the content of that
book for the content of any other book in the same shop. The same applies
for a website which contains content from different authors. Liz Greene is
not responsible for any content at ASTRO.COM except that which was written
by herself and is attributed to her.

When you are taking the birth data, it is better to ask for latitude and
longitude. As a matter of fact the city option is vague for people borne in
different cities and you do not have the listing of the same. so in addition
to the city option please have the latitude and longitude option, so that the
city becomes informative and the latitude and longitude becomes decisive. The
chart can be appropriately made. The present options are only serving for
people who are borne in cities listed by you.
I hope it could be incorporated by you soon.

For years I have been trying to rectify my house cusps, and have been
frustrated whether I do the math myself, or have it done commercially.
Accuracy in both place and time are critical, and finding the wealth of data
you offer is truly amazing. I am convinced [almost!] that two chart phenomena
are necessary: Pluto must be in my first house and my MC must start in Aries.
My entire life experience demands this. Your location data delineated fairly
precise neighborhoods in my native Boston, and by coupling these with
variations on my approximate birth time, easily done with your format,I have
narrowed my Ascendant almost to a point. It was disappointing that you
allowed entry of only hours and minutes, and not seconds, since manipulating
the seconds would bring me infinitely closer.
Psychologically I am still open
to alternative readings on Pluto's influence on my Ascendant. How many
degrees/minutes prior to or following the Ascendant does Pluto need to be to
indicate my father's death when I was almost six? Would this be a 12th house
influence, or a 1st house? At any rate as for the MC, Aries describes my
posture in the external world not Pisces. Cancer on the ascendant
sufficiently explains my inner posture. Thanks for a wonderfully presented,
and for me, a most useful site.

here in the guestbook. I can answer the technical question regarding seconds:
Please click on the [i]nformation button besides the hour field in the data
entry page. A help page with more information appears, and among other
items ist explains:
Precise time entry
The minute field accepts also time entry with high precision,
up to 1/100 of a second. If you want to enter 23m45sec,
please enter 23:45 or 23.45 in the minute field. Fractions of
seconds can be entered like 23:45.67. The minute field scrolls
horizontally if your entry is longer than the visible space. Most
chart output will not display fractional seconds but the
fractions are used internally for computation.

Free vs. paid horoscopes: Freebies are, as stated, short and, therefore,
incomplete (abbreviated versions). When my five children were very young, I
had a horoscope done for each one. When they became adults, I gave each child
his/her bound book, having once again read them myself to see how nearly
accurate the forecasts were. When I did a memory book for my youngest
child's 30th birthday, I used a quote from her horoscope. It added a lot of
value to her book, and we all enjoyed seeing that her prophecy (positive
characteristics), published 20 years earlier, had come true. I also had the
long version horoscope done for myself and for a person of interest and our
compatibility chart also one as a birthday gift for a niece and one for my
mother: in all 10 bound, complete horoscopes. I felt they were worthwhile
investments.

With the discovery of microscopic organisms in the atmosphere it is becoming
more evident that life did not originate on earth but rather outer space. As
gigantic asteroids pound the planets, debris spew off of the heavenly bodies
into space. Could we be the result of tiny organisms composed maybe of other
planatery ingredients? If so, this theory compliments astrology -very well.
If indeed the scientists are right that we are made of spatial elements from
the universe wouldnt we react to them.We live and are controlled by chemicals
our thoughts, persona, emotions, and intelligence all chemistry. If we are
composed of the stars you could make the claim that the stars facilitate and
mediate chemical flow. Think of this during a fullmoon there are more
reported child births, police claim there are more crime reports, and just
more general activity. Now if the moon causes this whose to say that jupiter
does not mediate saratonim levels in the brain? But who knows maybe the aliens
we see are us in the future. They dont travel through outer space but rather
through different dimentions and times by bending gravity and thus
time. Astrology is considred a pseudo science. I think it only has this lable
because we have a vague grasp of it and we dont know much about it. I
appreciate this site because it does not spoon-feed astrology or make any
assumptions it just provides the charts.

Sehr geehrter Herr Treindl!

Je nördlicher man
‚If this is beyond your range of understanding: leave it to the experts.‘
Partner-Vergleiches E.H. (Jungfrau) bei Astro, den Satz „email me, when
updated“. So erhielt dieser Spion regelmäßig sein Horoskop per verstecktem
Mail.
Der Vergleich bei Ihnen ist sehr gut, doch ist der Typ so stockschw.., daß er
mit seinen Kumpanen offensichtlich alles weibliche und schöne regelrecht
extrem subversiv und hundsgemein „bekriegt“ he has sent me through „H“ „E“
„L“ „L“ : HE-ART. Alles unter dem Mantel der „Scheinheiligkeit“, ....my
friends thought I was going to die ........, unnötige prolongation basierend
Zuckerbrot (grease) und Peitsche (offbase), just look to the e-mail-addresses
and you’ll have seen it, Alois (haben Sie nicht zum Schutz einen guten
„Counter“ ?). Quasi dieselben, wie im meiner Firma mit fake-Anfragen. Wofür
deren intensiven Mühen sind, ist mir zwar ein Rätsel, aber definitiv, es ist
.....dev-ilness !
*progressions address these discrepancies* .... Spiritual 'GROWTH' ....
Sie hatten Serverprobleme bei astro ?
Just keep on having an open eye !! Wide open.
