One more thing, when it a heavy rain and I can't see my astro. The AGC is 65

I am surprised how water resistant your computing

Alois adds: We accept personal US dollar cheques. Please use the online
order form until the last confimation button 'I confirm this order'
appears, but then don't press it. Print out that page, and send it to us
by mail together with a cheque for the amount displayed on the page, including
shipping charges. This is the simplest way to pre-compute shipping cost.
Alteratively, ask a friend or relative to permit the use of his/her
credit card for one order.
First, a question:
My natal Saturn is in Scorpio at 19º 34'.
I've been looking for references to the transiting Uranus square as it
approaches 19º Aquarius.
None have appeared either in the daily horoscope or in the more expanded
forecast.
Is some Uranus data not being transmitted properly?
Then: I am continually amazed at the quality of your work and the sheer
volume of information you have made available - in seconds' time - involving
so many aspects of astrological calculation.
Congratulations on your excellent, beautiful presentation!
Deborah (visiting www.astro.com)
San Francisco, USA --- Saturday, December 30, 2000 at 18:20 Universal Time (UT/GMT)
Alois adds: For limitations of 'Short report forecast', please read its
introduction. For complete forecasting reports, please choose among the
various offers in our Astro shop.
The daily horoscope will discuss
that transit at some point, but for which day during its year-long
activity it is assigned as 'reading of the day' is impossible to predict.
Our software makes its own inspired choices in this area. For many weeks
the transit will probably appear among the 'important long-term influences'.
The
printed edition 'Personal Horoscope Calendar' gives you the reading for
every day of a 12-month period, and you can easily look up this particular
aspect by its index.
Of course, also a book like 'Planets in Transit' will
gibe you the reading, if you know already what you look for. Of course the
book will not give you the personal timing for the transit, and it will not
make a selection by importance, like our advanced reports 'Transits of the
Year' or 'Yearly Horoscope Analysis' do.
RE - Upcoming Saturn/Mars conjuction previously occured in Grand Trine
formation with Uranus a little while ago..From the 4th of Janurary this
aspect will be in Grand Trine with Neptune, carrying through part of the
month. Hope this helps!

Alois adds: Thank you for the feedback. For zooming of maps, besides the
fact that our small development team is burdened with too much work already,
the main counter-argument is orb. You must take into account that
you need to allow for at least 100 miles on each side of a line for orb, so
any higher resolution map display would just be an illusion of high
precision which has no basis in reality.

Astrodienst site is a real great one. The outputs are fantastic. One
improvement that you may condiser is drawing an extended chart using the
Kundig method where transit or solar planets are placed at the same outer
band as the aspect circle planets. This messes up things and makes it
difficult to read. I suggest you put the transit/solar/whatever planets
further out to clear themselves from those in aspect circle.
Take care

fit well with all chart types. We don't actively develop this area of our
software, we just make available what we have in store. Please use it as
it is, and use Kündig just for natal charts, and use another style
for bi-wheel chart types.

I love you, I adore you but also...:
God gracious me:-), why did I ever take a look at my chart for 2000-2001?
I yearn across pathless waterlands for
a whiff of your sour fragrance,
a waft of dimpled arms,
the flick and murmur of your speaking…
(P Davidson, poem: You)
and then I came across my ...eh, so red full and amazing square pattern:-)
for the year 2000-2001, and I realized that red is ABSOLUTELY not my color
and squares make me quiver… but I promise to stay as nosy as I can on a
borders of unknown (Virgo asc. Lion as I am, I have to fight with all what I
have). So I take a handful of my abilities and a bucket of a good hope to
swift me tenderly in an blue green wander boards.

difference of the vertex in the progressed/natal vs. progressed. Is the
difference in the vertex position due to the natal ascendant vs. the

Hello Astrodienst Folks,
I've been a devoted user of your services for two years, now, and still find
your site the best by years (though I haven't looked around for a whiles
need). Still, your changes to the horoscope server over the past year have
made acquiring horoscopes slower due to added step/pages whereas, before, one
could simply go to the old atlas query mode and, staying in there, make
repeated changes to date/time inputs in order to compass and fine tune
horoscopes. The thing that really makes your server quite tedious is the
added feature of an allowance of only four persons/date info per account,
where, you must spend minutes editing/deleting old inputs in order to get
5,6,7 new castings. Would you please return the old atlas query to it's old,
spectacular glory! where, after 100 different inputs into the date/time
plate, then your web-server location is shut down for 24 hours!
Thank you,
and Happy Holidays

i love your website have really enjoyed working with the free chart services
you provide. i'm curious, however, about your composite charts using
midpoints. when i did a couple of composite charts, all the planets were
where i expected them to be except for saturn jupiter which were exactly
opposite to where i thought they would be. i don't have any formal
astrological training-what i know, i've learned from books - the only method
for figuring midpoints i've seen involves adding the planets' positions by
degree as found on the zodiacal wheel, then dividing the result by two. i'm
guessing there must be at least one other method, would like to get some
feedback about how these methods compare differ.

CLOSER midpoint. For example, assume one Moon at 10 Pisces ( = 340 deg.),
the other at 10 Aries (= 10 deg). The arithmetic mean would be (340+10) / 2 =
175, or 25 Virgo, but the CLOSER midpoint is 25 Pisces.

Alois, yours is one of the best site.I wish to have a software with similar
capabilites of the atlas. I think , new matrix software may be a close
approximate.
However, I wish to see cuspal chart in north Indian design. This is basiscaly
a rectangle, with a parrelogram at 45 degrees and two diagnols of rectangle
cutting each other. This way I house is designated as the top box. This
design is highly intuitive to give quick readings. May be you may consider
incorporting this type of chart.
At our website, we are advising lucky gemstones, for the time being free of

Dear Alois,
First of all I want to thank you once more for your GREAT service.
I have one question regarding the free forecast reports. I checked them for a
friend of mine, who will have a T. Pluto opposition to N. Sun on 14.1.2001,
but this aspect is not mentioned.
Which criteria do the described transits follow? Did I do something wrong or
are the offered just transits just not all the transits that take place ?
Thank you for your attention.

I was very disappointed to find that when I used AstroClick Love, that
several of the astrological interpretations actually were advocating multiple
partners and seeing other people in secret to allay sexual frustration or
balance their primary relationship. This isn't something that I would expect
from this site. I've always thought you to be a very upstanding group. Why
are you giving this sort of interpretation to people that is endorsing the
lack of monogamy in our love relationships? Do you really believe that this
sort of behavior is better for couples now? This is very upsetting to me.

Alois adds: I am sorry if you are upset.
I promise, when monogamy has become
the standard behaviour of the human race, we will take Robert Townley's
text off the web and lock it up in the compartment for politically incorrect
literature.
Meanwhile, you might want to read what we say in the catalogue
section about the report
'astrotext love' which is also the basis of AstroClick Love.
"As the text was written in the early 1970s, it reflects
the spirit of that time, when sexual freedom was still
great news and a tremendously liberating
achievement. We have kept the original text even
when it is sometimes a bit outdated due to later
changes in social attitudes, because it carries the
lively quality of that time and is fun to read."
You see that we are aware of a change in social attitudes. I suggest
you don't take AstroClick Love that serious. It is mostly for fun.
I would really enjoy one addition to the charts available: I'd love to see a
composite chart with current transits, much like the natal chart with
transits. The charts coming off this site are so beautiful compared with the
ones I do by hand! -)

I recently visited the Astro Travel section, which needless to say is

great, but I have a few requests/suggestions:
1. In addition to clicking on the map,
the ability to enter the city and/or
lat/long location and obtain the
report on which lines are having impact
on the location.
2. In addition, to the lat/long for the line crossings, it would be helpful
if location/city name was also given. It would make it more
user-friendly.
3. Additional astro-graphs using
progressed natal chart, solar return
natal chart, transits.

Dear Alois
I like your site a lot, I think it's very enlightening and useful.
However, sometimes, while surfing your site, I begin to feel surrounded by
computers - machines, that's when I turn to your page, to read something
actually written by a person in the present. I can allways learn something
unexpected from you, and it warms the heart that there is a person in the end
of the computer. I think if there was a column in the site (weekly, daily or
monthly), written by a live person like you, writing about topics in
astrology, either about present transits, general articals on various
astrological subjects, or answering readers questions in an elaborated manner
(not about individual chart interpretation, just general astrological
questions), it will increase the satisfaction from the site, and it's
popularity. A lot of other sites, less compatible than yours, offer this
service, and I can't see why you can't have this service too, done the best
way around, as you do everything else.
On another matter, congratulations for the new astroclick travel. I must
admit, though, it left me quite confused... It seems all my life I lived in
the wrong places... I did read the introduction, and I still don't understand
how am I supposed to relate to it... is there a 'right' place to live? It
doesn't seem like we have much choices in life with this map, everything is
pre-destined... Modern astrology, as I understand it, usually presents
challenges, and by realising the challenge, we might find a way to overcome
the problems. With this map I don't realy know what to do except maybe
roaming the whole globe until I find a suitable place (if I find one..) and
move there...but that doesn't seem very practical either... Could you talk
about this, and maybe include a more in depth explanation in the
introduction, since this is not a subject discussed often in books.
Thank you kindly

Alois adds: Dear Iris, thank you for the feedback. You are not the first to
suggest that we add more 'journalistic' content to our website.
It is more effort than you think, however, to write a weekly column.
For me personally it is hard to write anything on a fixed schedule. I find
it easy to write replies to questions or comments, as I like conversation, but
when I have to write a paper or an article I suffer from severe writer's block.
But I am sure we will find a way to have regular columnists at some point.
Your comment on the AstroClick Travel readings applies in a general way
to the technique
of 'astro cartography', as its main proponent Jim Lewis called it. [Lewis
copyrighted the word, and has tried to prevent anyone from using it. Soon the whole
English language will be copyrighted or patented, and we all will have to pay
royalties if we want to speak.]
As all cookbook readings where single horoscope factor are interpreted, you
should take the reading not at face value.
Wherever you go, you have your whole natal
horoscope with you, and much more than that. A single planetary shadow
line will not change that much. I personally found 'astro cartography' just a
beautiful thing to play with, after I had written my first program to draw those
maps in 1982. Only when I travelled to Australia, where the whole east coast
is under my Saturn-Ascendant line, I found out what it feels like to live with
Saturn on the Ascendant and I began to take 'astro cartography' more serious.
I still think that only the strongest lines count, and only when seen in
connection to your natal chart. I have a strong Saturn placement in my chart,
and a lot of what I have achieved I have to thank this constellation for, as it
gives me the strength to solve hard problems. So I think because I relate strongly
to this planet, I can feel it when it appears in such a prominent position as
on the Ascendant.
Please keep the limitations of 'point and click' astrology
in mind when you play with our maps.
A funny personal note on the side: The Big Island of Hawaii which is like
a second home for me and my favourite place on earth besides Switzerland, is void
of any direct lines in my astro map. It seems as if 'astro cartography' could
not explain what draws me to Hawaii. Only when we had programmed AstroClick travel,
which also looks carefully for planetary crossings at the same latitude, I could
click on the Big Island and read:
Crossing Sun/Saturn:
At first glance, this region appears unfriendly, cold and
unattractive. A lifestyle, which is stamped by its severity and
loneliness, hardly seems inviting, and thus this region does not
lend itself to finding relaxation, amusement or harmony in your
relationships.
On the other hand, Sun/Saturn regions offer the best conditions
to develop personal maturity, seriousness as well as technical
and professional competence, provided you are prepared to be
responsible, disciplined and
to continue working. Conditions are
harsh, but consistency and persistence create impressive results.
You put your time to good use by asking important questions
about life, making every effort to work constructively and focusing
your energy on establishing a solid, material base. Here, you can
gain independence. You become a perfectionist, get ride of
excess baggage and learn to differentiate between essentials and
non-essentials.
This is pretty good stuff for someone with Sun-Saturn as the predominant aspect in
the birth chart. I had developed all these sides already before I discovered
Hawaii, but to find it expressed here - available at a click - adds to my
confidence in what I am doing.

available at various sites, e.g. www.astrolog.org. It implements a variety

You might want to visit our samples section, to see the
difference between a computer horoscope you might get anywhere, and

Interesting site. I would like to correct and amend some information
submitted a month ago by Dennis Garwitz Sr. I believe there actually was an
presidential election in 1820--of James Monroe. (An ancestor of mine was the
only member of the electoral college to vote against Monroe, but... bygones.)
Also, Theodore Roosevelt was elected vice-president, not president, in 1900.
His presidential running mate, William McKinley, was indeed assassinated in
Sept. 1901. That is how Teddy Roosevelt became president. (Historians say
that when McKinley was murdered, his campaign manager said, Now that damned
cowboy [Roosevelt] is president! I'll bet somebody somewhere must have said
the same thing in reference to Lyndon Johnson when John Kennedy was
killed.)
The astrological theory is that Jupiter/Saturn conjuntions only bode the
death in office of an American president if the conjunction occurs in an
earth sign. From 1840 until 1960, these twenty year conjunctions did occur in
earth signs. Not so in 1800, 1820 and 1980. However, the recent
Jupiter/Saturn conjunction did occur in an earth sign. So the worst is
possible. What I do not know is why the death in office sometimes occurs
within the first year of office while at other times the president does not
die in office until his next term after the one nearest the fateful
conjunction. Also, I am aware of a rough pattern involving the deaths of
vice-presidents in office every couple of presidents from the early 19th
century until the early 20th. About 15 years ago, I wrote an unpublished
paper tracing this phenomenon, but I reached no conclusions as to why the
pattern appeared or why it stopped.
Also, as to Mayan astrology, I have heard speakers on this topic who think
that the Mayan End of the World does not mean a literal end of the world but
a change to the world as we know it. That may not be helpful. Perhaps that
will make some worry all the more.

First, This is a wonderful site. I really appreciate the fact that it is
here.
You are probably asked to do this and to do that. And bearing in mind the old
saw about not looking gift horses in the mouth, I would respectfully ask if
you might include a function that would do semi, or half year, solar returns.
Those are quite useful. A general harmonic application would work well, as
one could easily compute semi, and well as quarti returns, and enneads too.
Of course, half year returns are doable by using the sidereal function,
getting the sun's place, and casting back and forth till you center in on
that opposite point.( I like mine precessed). For a normal precessed return
in the tropical zodiac it's real easy, just get the sidereal return, and
recast for the same time, only in tropical format.
Thanks again for a great site.

Alois adds: Thanks for the feedback. I am afraid there are limits of what
we can do for the technical experts. We focus on services useful for the
larger population. For experts like you, at some point it is advisable to
buy a good astrology program like Solar Fire.
If it were not for precession correction (which I personally consider
an illogical technique), you could use the the Graphical Ephemeris for
one year with Natal, additional data tables, to get the moments of the Sun's transits over its
own aspect points, and use those to set up event charts.
I find your midnight ephemeris very helpful, however, I have been taught to
cast charts using a noon ephemeris. Short of actually going and buying
one(which i plan to do when I become more proficient), how can I accurately
convert from midnight sidreal time to noon sidereal and have my charts come
out correctly. I have found a site or two with printable ephemerides, but
only one, yours, with sidereal time, but I need noon not midnight. Please
help! Many thanks in advance!

Enjoy this site!!! Please include in your chart drawing section an option
that includes the transneptunian points!!!! thank you

Alois adds: I am afraid we include only real astronomical objects.
But you can use the Swiss Ephemeris test feature to get positions of
those fictual objects.
I have realy enjoyed your Astroclick program. Thank you for making it
avalible. And thank you for your time.
Om Ah Hung may you be well and happy

Can't thank U enough for this wonderful site! I'm passing
out yor adress left
and right. A Question: can you very briefly tell me the bare bones of
reading
a solar-return chart. Just the basic technique, not interpretation.
And/or
recommend a good book on the subject. thanks and much love. Gro.

Alois adds: Look at it as the birth chart of a new year of your life; there is
more to the Solar return than that (it is a transit chart for your
birthday), but it is a good start.
For books, please check the link 'book search' in the left column of the page
you are reading. There are 16 titles for Solar Returns. I have to admit that
I have not read any of them and can't give recommendations. I doubt there is
a really good book on the subject out there.
Thank you Astrodienst! Your site is a wonderful gift to the world. I will
soon order charts forecasts for others I know would benefit from your
valuable information! (I also hope to visit...while we live in America, mein
mann ist Deutsch, and we plan to be in Zurich in Spring.) Continued
blessings success!

Alois adds; Thanks for the nice feedback, Rosalind. I am afraid I have to
discourage visits. I know I sound unwelcoming, but we really have no facilities
for physical visitors, we do not
run a shop or a center or anything, just a back-office mailorder operation in
a quiet residential area in a lakeside suburb of Zurich.
All the rest is virtual and the actual persons creating and running the
webservices are spread out over the world.

Thank you! Your LOVE PARTNERSHIP charts are terrific. I'd like to be able to
print them, too. Is that possible? Thanks
