Hello from Amsterdam!
A pity you have changed your web site. I used to visit at least 3 times a day
for some reason or the other. I loved the free reports, the simple way of
getting there, the possiblities it offered and the analyses were great very
accurate! However, now you have changed your web site, as it seems to me
without any advantages, and I get a little frustrated when trying to get to
the info In look for. I tried several times, but without success. The pages
also seem to load slower than before.
Just for your info, I will check every once in a while if the clarity in the
lay outs have improved and you won't see me here 3times a day any more until
they have.
Thanks anyway,
M from Amsterdam

Alois adds: I am sure you do something fundamentally wrong, but I have no idea what
you are doing.
I've been studying astrology for several years now and your website is most
appreciated! I had my horoscope chart done once and it didn't agree with what
I had done on astro.com. When I mentioned that Liz Greene was affiliated
with this website he re-did mine to match the one I had done because he said
if Liz Greene had anything to do with it, no doubt it was 100% accurate.
This website is considered #1 with most everyone!

Alois adds: Thanks for the feedback. Liz Greene has a very important role at Astrodienst
as the author of most of our excellent Astro*Intelligence reports. She should not be held responsible
however for other content or services which are not visibly connected with her name. Not
everything you find on our website has been blessed by her.
In the near future, Liz will get much more involved also with our website content, but as it
stands now, don't hold her responsible.
In the are of chart precision the main source of errors for all astrologers is incorrect
timezone and daylight saving time. It is a sad fact hat there is such a large number of incorrectly
computed horoscopes out there, often by established astrologers.
For many years the most reliable source, which everyone
uses, was Thomas Shanks' 'American and International Atlas'. We use it too and have extended
it for more recent years and some gray areas. It is an ongoing effort, every year
some countries in the world change the timezone laws, some even for simple sports events!
I like your site very much. It makes it very quick to draw up a chart and get
a quick interpretation. However you need to do something about security. I
gave the link to a friend and she put her data in. I then put mine in and
after a bit tired the partner option in the free charts. I wasn't sure if
the data was hers or just a random person but the chart came up with her data
in it. I'm not sure if this was meant to happen or not but you should change
it so at the very least you have to enter a specific person's name to get
their data and just put up a random person as the choice if a person is not
entered.

Alois adds: If you forwarded a link to your personal account, then your
friend could access your account (i.e. the list of your astro data).
This is currently the programmed behaviour of the system. At this stage,
the password's function is only to ALLOW access if the cookie information is
not present on a computer. A bookmakr contains this information (it needs to
so that the recipient of a bokmark can access the intended data).
We have already
implemented a 'high security' mode where any access to a named account requires login via password. This will allow publication of links without write access.
However this feature is not yet activated in the released version
because it has not passed final testing yet. As of now, if you want to
publish a link to a chart, it is recommended to create a special new guest
account with that data item only and nothing else in it.
DEAR SIRS,
Your website obtains the best reputation in our country,so I like to share
your information to my friends. however I can not enter your birth data page
since the homepage was changed - I fill out all my birth data but I can not
enter the chart drawing page and the page always shows access denied . Now I
still can't enter any selections of your site. Can you help me check your
access authorization and I will be appreciative.

Thank you so much for this service. I've been studying astrology for a
couple years now and started by making charts with a Table of Houses, a lot
of math, and at least a 1/2 hour per chart. Your service now allows me to
focus on actually studying a chart as opposed to how it's drawn out. Your
service is the best on the web and yet free. I do agree with your comments
about that people shouldn't complain about a free site. If they think they
can do better, then they should try to rather than criticize. Love your
site!! I'm on it now at least twice a day....

All in all the new changes aren't bad. One thing though, on your Astroclick
Love area it's great to see the chart, but a DRAG to have to click on each
area to get an interpretation. It was much better to be able to look at the

Alois adds: We know that a few users feel disoriented by the changes
we made. Please take your time to read the instructions and help texts
(wherever a [i]nformation button appears). You will find out that the new site
is far better than the previous one. The very large majority of
the visitors has been able to see that.
It seems time for a little review:
The main advantages of the new site are:
- your data are stored on the server; whenever you connect to it, you have all your data
for up to 4 person (unregistered guest account) or 100 persons (named account)
- you can bookmark any horoscope output page now, eg. the page with the daily horoscope for
tomorrow. Whenever you use this bookmark, tomorrow's daily horoscope appears. This holds for any
chart or reading type. On the old server, bookmarks were tricky and we had an unbearable number
of support questions due to that.
- when you create a named account, you can access your astro data from anywhere, e.g. from work and
from home or while travelling.
- the visual appearence of many horoscope output pages is more appealing in text style
and colors now.
- multilinguality is fully integrated into the site in a much better way now. Currently we have German
and English as navigation languages. On most pages you simple switch languages by clicking on the
language flag in the menu bar. More languages will follow.
- it is now possible to browse between the dynamic areas of the site (personalized horoscopes)
and the static areas (catalogue, samples, other non-personal information) without loosing your
data. This was impossible before.
For anyone with an open mind these advantages were obvious when they saw the new site,
and we received so much praise for it (see below).
However for some users every unvoluntary change is a 'challenge' and
some react agressively.
I personally had to suffer an incredible amount of verbal abuse over
the last two weeks (some abusive guestbook messages had to be deleted, and a lot of harrassment
full of 4-letter words came by email and was never public).
It is astonishing to what abusive length some people go to complain about changes
in a free service which has never asked them to pay a single dime and which has never done
them anything than providing generous free astrological services - the best there are on the
Internet.

Alois adds: I don't know what that is. Our choice of chart types reflect what
Swiss and German
astrologers asked Astrodienst to provide, mostly in the first years of the
company's existence betwen 1980 and 85, when there were no PCs yet.
Another factor were the techniques which interested me
personally and which I wanted to study. We never intended to offer EVERY
possible technique. The range of choices is already confusing enough, I think.
There should be some market share left over for astrology software you have to buy.
Love the site, except everyone on my list is relocated,...and preferences
only accepts one site. Is there a way to let everyone on a list have their
individual relocations? I use it for angles mostly for SA's and lunar returns
on a 90,...Friends and family are all over the place,...but the My Astro is
handy other than that. Thankyou for a great site,.. Martina

Alois adds: now I have added a length explanation to the reference place
entry page, which should explain why this is so. Please read it. The truth ist
that the reference place is rather irrelevant, though few people seem to grasp that.
Relocation charts are mostly a nice illusion. You cannot change your birth chart by moving.
This is an impressive site - I'm hooked since discovering it last week. I
have a question, although I'm not sure if this the right place to ask, but
I'm trying to discover the birth-time of the poet Ted Hughes so I can find
his ascendent. I only know 17th August 1930 in Mytholmroyd. I've looked on an
Astro-celebrity site, on your VIP list, and in the usual biographies, but to
no avail.
What intrigues me is that in his poem St Botolph's - where he describes his
momentous first meeting with Sylvia Plath in Cambridge, he is quite specific
about the astrology on that day - the 25th February 1956, and its bearing on
both their charts. But I cannot get it all to fit together, and feel that
either he is mistaken about the astrology, or I am doing something wrong. He
says Jupiter and the full moon conjunct/Opposed Venus...The conjuction,
conjunct my Sun...Venus pinned exact on my mid-heaven. He later says that
Neptune is in his 10th house. But on 25/02/56, Venus was around 16 degrees
Aries, so never opposite Jupiter/Moon, which were close together around 25-28
degrees Leo, (Hughes' sun), as was Pluto, which he doesn't mention. And no
matter where I try out his ascendent (initially favouring Leo or Scorpio), I
can't get his midheaven to be at 16 degrees Aries AND his Neptune to be in
the 10th house, it's not possible. Could anybody help me out there?
Thanks to this site, and the ease of being able to edit data and see a result
at the click of a switch, the hard work done for you - and free. It makes
seeing and interpreting the patterns, and correlating these patterns with
peoples' psychology, all the more interesting, even if you're only a beginner.

something that wasn't broken?
You had a wonderful system which was easy to use and move back and forth

I don't like the itemization or seperation of everything, which is a pain.

others I Have studied astrology for some twenty years and read many of Liz

a teacher qualified in the London school who now works in Australia, all of
which helped me considerably to comprehend the psychological symbolism of
astrology and can only suggest that others may wish to discover more about

to choose another person for the same type of chart.
Alternatively, please use the 'My Astro' page.
Obviously you are incapable accepting any kind of negative feedback and have
to turn your responses it into a psychological diatribe. You never addressed
the difficulties that the user has getting back to the screen to change the
birthdata after they have put one set of birthdata in place nor have you
addressed how to easily get to advanced chart selection. It has nothing to do
with powerlessness over the changes made, just maybe the person making the
changes should look at their inability to consider other users and the
difficulties they may have...it is called consideration and looking at the
other persons point of view. Which I'm not so sure you are capable of doing.

It is prominently near the top of each page, below the link 'Add new person'.
The 'My Astro' page always had a link 'Edit data' besides every data
record listed.
We do consider this sufficient, and indeed 39'000 users have been using
the site since the last 8 days, when we started the changes. I think we have
reacted on the feedback to a considerable extent. At the core pagees, the

For all the beautiful souls in this warm-wonderful world.
I just wrote a letter and afterwards I started to read letters from others.
And because of that I feel like to response on some of them.
I've read a lot of letters, in wich were said, that things weren't right.
Well, let me tell you, that I have made hundreds of horoscopes without a
computer and they are simulair with this program. So I think, that your
initiate horoscope wasn't made right. It's good to make a mistake, but then
look further. Astrlogy is not a game-. I study astrology for more than 20
years and in this website I haven't find one wrong placement of planents and
cups!
I would also like to expres my feelings about loneliness. I think that most
of the readers and writers are quit lonely with themeselfes, like I am. So I
would like to ask you all, for bringing life to these lonely words and
feelings(?).
When you live your life. Just live it in your own way, listen to your
wonderful music an live in a wonderful giving spirit.
The only thing we need is TRUST and when we have trust we can believe in
ourselves and the future. Then nothing can stop us, and astrology is nothing
then.
Don't ever be afraid and feel the love of your enviroment and grow as it
should let you grow.
And as you can see, I am just like you like tears will never dry, n'or give
any anwers.
There's only one way to fulfill this life in a good way, and that's to do
your best in every form or sort of a way, both spiritual and physical.

Hello,
I'm grateful, that all around the world, people have the opportunity to learn
about themeselves through your webpage. I study astrology for 21 years and
through this period, I was able to help a lot of people. As you know, we all
go through both deep inner and exterior conflicts. In my opinion, astrology
could be the key to understand yourself and transform, if you would just open
yourself for this wonderful wisdom of knowledgde.
I've read lot's of books about astrology and I was always suprised, that
American astrologers like Liz Greene, Stephen Arroyo, Robert Hand, Jeff Green
and Martin Schulman really understand astrology in every way imaginable. They
walk pathes of the great philosophers and psychologists. Just trying to
understand the human psyche in it's wonderful complex, personal and spiritual
way.
So I was strucked, when I found out that a few of my favorite astologers made
a webpage to give their knowledge away. Their intentions are giving, like it
should be when you practics astrology.
For me, this webpage indicates a form of peace in my life, because it took me
a lot of time and money to help others with my knowledge. Note- I usually
have a conversation with the person, after I made the horoscope and tell him
what I see and feel with his questions. When he or she wants to know more, I
make copies of the aspects wich are suitable for the situation, because I do
not want to earn money with astology. I think, it's already written in such
wonderful words, that I can't do it better.
But I do have some questions. First, a personal one, my son is 11 and I could
not do the love click. I was playing around with your program and wanted to
see the Uranus/MC-conjunction. I was told that his age wasn't right yet. On
the other hand I was able to read in his personal portrait both Neptune in 10
and Cusp Pisces. I also read his daily horoscope, that he had an Mars
conjunction with Venus, wich indicates sexuality for instance. As you can
understand, I did not read the words, because it's just not intresting.
Next question. -Would it be possible to get Schulman involveld in this
webpage. He is the one who writes about karmic astology, like the Moon- Nod
and Happy-point. (Don't possibly know the right translation.)-I would also
like to know more about Chiron.
Further, I would like to say something important to the people who will read
my letter. Would you please take care in your development in matters like
tarot-carts and others. Try to stay in your own world and don't try go
looking for answers. Just believe in everything you already have. You really
don't need more than that. It could bring alienation with yourself in a
terrible way. We all have a divine spirit, wich helps us all the way. And
astrology is a wonderful way to walk your life in a way wich will suits you
well!
A lot of love, light and power from Muriel.
My birthdate is the 11th of february 1966, at 06.23 at Rotterdam, the

Hi, and thanks for a great site. My problem is about hose-systems isn't it
true that all house-systems other than equal house will collapse when the
birthplace is north of the polar circle? And howcome my horoscope gets
calculated with Placidus houses when I'm born at 68 degrees north? I feel you
should make house-systems optional, so that the user can choose freely among
the various systems normally used. I believe you actually had this option
some years ago? Anyway, I did't mean to be overly critical, I really love
your site. It's just that this house-thing makes me uneasy about the accuracy
of my horoscope. Keep up the good work! Susie.

house systems, but not in the reports. All reports default to Placidus.
Inside the Polar areas we default to Porphyrius but it is possible that
no all output pages indicate that.
You can use the extended chart selection
to verify this.
I would feel uneasy too if I were born north of the polar
circle and used standard astrology. You might have to develop your own...
Your site is a a blessing. Thankyou so much for making this form of

her books that are in print and use all of her reports. Her work is so
penetrating, so profound and comprehensive. You have all helped me so much.
Zurich is so far away, though. Having Liz on tape or CD would be so fine.
Thanks for your great work.

Hi! I've just started studying Astrology and I'm so excited that I have
found this web site on
the internet. Now I can check my charts and study
with more accuracy. There are very few Astrologers in St.Louis because it is
still considered an evil practice by the Protestant and
Catholic churches here. Until two years ago I
had held the same views...At age 40, I had my very
first reading and the astrologer told me everything that was going on in my
life...and all of it was true. I became determined to find out
how she accomplished this feat, and so I began my
studies. Now my co-workers have become interested
as well as my children that I am home schooling.
Thank you so much for your web site!

helpful for me. But i've one question. When i use the Composite chart on your
site i get a different chart than with using the composite MP-method chart on
your site. How is that first composite chart made? Wich technique has been
used for that one??

i for one love the new site format. i think this is by far the best astrology
site , free or otherwise, and not having to waste time typing your
information everyday makes it even better. definitely a step forward, about
all the complaints i would sincerely hope you would work out the problems
with second and third person data rather than going backwards and forgetting
a great idea because a few people were temporarily annoyed.

Alois adds: Thank you. I can assure you that there exist no such problems.
It is just like driving a new car, where the light switch and heating control
are on a place different from before. Some drivers can get very nervous
about something like that.
Why do you guys continually change the format for Astrodienst?? Just when I
get used to one format you go and change it.
It is next to G.D. impossible to get a second and third persons birthdata on,
after you've already put one persons in. It is also impossible to get to the
extended chart selection section to do progressions etc. after you've put up
a birthchart. CAN'T YOU LEAVE THINGS ALONE? YOU ARE NOT IMPROVING THINGS,
JUST MAKING THEM MORE CONFUSING, DIFFICULT AND A MESS.

Alois repeats: I know how terrible it can be if things change when you were not the
one who made the decision for them to change. It can create feelings as if
a loved partner decided to leave you. Calling out 'I hate you' however will
most likely not bring him/her back.
Please try to understand that we feel very different about this.
I am having trouble with your new system. Not only do I get my daily
horoscope when i click My Astro, but I also get it when I use Personal Daily

Your web site is the beast for Astrology on the net. IMO.
As for reading your comment on making money and not giving everything away
for free. I would be in favor of a yearly charge fee. To use the basic chart
generation service you currently provide. As to the money of a yearly fee. It
would be up to you! You could charge a membership fee of say!, 5 or 20 a year
or whatever amount to help you with your costs. If this is a solution you
should try it! As for a fee of 100 a year would IMO be high for some. But it
shows how valuable your service is the public. this is just a thought.

Since I have just gotten my computer working again after being totally
incommunicado for a week, I have just discovered the changes you have made to
your website. Beautiful! Every time I think you can't possibly make it any
better, you do. I still love reading the Feedback entries, which I do
religiously every day (when my computer's working!) My favourite of your most
recent comments, Alois, was the one about Saturn in the fifth being as good
as an apple between the knees. Living in an area where it is rare to find
someone astrologically literate to talk to, it's great to be able to have
access to your comments and jokes. And as soon as the vocational reports are
available, I'm ordering several. Can't wait!

I can go with jokes; it depends on my mood of course, which is not always
good. I have worked to much in recent weeks. I also look forward to the

to make it real.

The typeface on the new version of your site is much too small to read!
Please change the font size back to 10 or 12 points, or make it accessible to
browser enlargement. Currently any attempt to enlarge the typeface in my
browser only enlarges the sidebar info, but has no effect on the links or
main text. Thanks!
Martin
--- Sunday, October 22, 2000 at 15:17 Universal Time (UT/GMT)
Alois adds: The question of font sizes on web pages is much more complex
than anyone might think. The same page comes out VERY different on different
systems. Windows enlarges everything, and the Mac shows it too small. The server
has no way of knowing the user's screen size or font preference settings.
We need to control the size of fonts, so that the navigational
elements keep within the limited space assigned to them. On the other end
we understand quite well that it is desireable if a user can change font
size in his/her browser. We hope to find a solution which is satisfying for
both, the page designer and the reader with ageing eyes.
Me gusto mucho la nueva presentacion, pienso que podrian cambiar solo el
ancho de la pagina de Free Dayly Horoscopes, para no tener que correrla a la
derecha al leerla!. de resto, me encanta.

fix it so we can just come in and out? As for keeping the info when we

Besides, maybe,I'm not wanting to keep the info here....maybe I'm doing a
short chart like Persona for a person and I don't need to logon under that
same name next time I come on.I.also,had trouble when I went back to change a

Alois adds: To get to extended charts is two clicks from any location
on the site: click 'free horoscopes' in the top navigation, then 'extended
charts'.
Also, now you can bookmark ANY page on the site, including dynamic
pages with chart output.
For editing natal data, EVERY chart output page has a link near the top
for 'edit data'. The My Astro page has one for every row of data you keep.
Do you need more such links? Please tell us where to put them!
I recommend you give yourself a bit of time to familiarize yourself with the
advantages of the new site, instead of complaining.
I hope you are aware that the Liz Greene reports are not offered for free.
They are too good to be free.
We have updated www.astro.com to the new software release. Patiently we will
bear the collective outrage that we dare to change our system.
Alois
Alois adds: Now the new system is running 10 hours and it goes very smooth.
We chose the weekend because the traffic is much lower on the site (most
people seem to do horosopes from their work desks...). There were 3738 natal
data records added during these 10 hours, by 2255 visitors. 171 of these have
chosen to register already, which is great. Thank you all for using our services.
Alois adds: I know. My solution was a pair of reading glasses.
Alois adds: Thanks, I am so glad we get your positive feedback.
Alois adds: Must be my three Aquarius planets and three Libra planets.
Alois adds: Thanks, I am so glad we get your positive feedback.
Alois adds: I know. My solution was a pair of reading glasses.
Alois adds: Thanks, I am so glad we get your positive feedback.
Alois adds: Thanks, I am so glad we get your positive feedback.
Alois adds: Thanks, I am so glad we get your positive feedback.
Alois adds: To delete a person, use the feature on the 'My Astro' page.
To add a person, every chart output page has a link near the top for 'add new person'.
Alois adds: Please us the page 'My Astro' (top right link) to administer
your data. You can delete or change them, or add your registration to
be allowed 100 stored charts.
Please be aware the A and S are not bound to plus or minus.
Okay, Dear Alois, I
understand the difference between A and S now, but let me see if I understand
the difference between the negative number and the positive number. The
positive number indicates the number of degrees to which the orb of aspect
differentiates and the negative number indicates the degree to which the
aspect is precise with in one degree? Thanks for your help... and your
patience.
Alois adds: Maybe an example helps: In my own chart, Uranus is at 1 deg. Cancer
and the Moon at 26 deg. Libra. The distance between the two is 115 degrees.
120 degrees would make an exact trine, the actual distance it 5 degrees short,
so the aspectarian has -5.
Moon moves much faster than Uranus, and it will reach the position of 1 Scorpio
(the exact trine to Uranus) soon after my birth. Therefore there is an 'A'
for applicative aspect.
My Jupiter is at 22 Aquarius. The moon has an angle of 116 degrees to it,
which is 4 degrees short of the exact aspect. Therefore there is a -4 in the
aspect table. The Moon is moving away from the exact aspect (which was a few
hours before my birth), therefore it is separating and has an 'S'.
My Mercury is at 29 Aquarius, the moon has an angle of 123 degrees to it,
which is 3 degrees more than an exact trine. It has a plus 3 in the aspect table.
If you want the orbis with more precision than the rounded degrees, use
the 'additional data tables' available for most chart types. (Or do the
math yourself from the positions listed on the chart).
Alois adds: You have misunderstood. You just have to register under 'My Astro',
which ist totally free and without any commitment, and then
you can store up to 100 of your amigos in the server's database under this
registration.
Do you have more than 100 'amigos' for whom you want to make
horoscopes? Then it looks as if you run a professional service, which goes
beyond legitimate 'private use'.
Please read the 'legal notes' under the bottom link
in the left column of the home page. If you want to run a professional
service based on our resources, pleae contact us to acquire a license.
PS: Please communicate in English or German if possible. I can just
approximately make out what your message means.
I do have a suggestion...Surely there are people who are born around the same
time and same place, that might have similar life experiences/similar natal
charts. How about creating a database to match them up based on different
variables as people sign in for their free natal chart.
Alois adds: Your idea is certainly interesting, and maybe we will set
up something like that in the future. If we do it, only those data that
vistors explicitly want to enter into such a 'matching service' will be used.
We would never automatically subject user's data to such automatic matching
or processing.
We are very much privacy-conscious and we treat the data
our visitors enter into our system as highly confidential. We make great efforts
that nobody can access another persons's data.
Astrodienst is not just an Internet startup but has a background of
20 years of astrological computer services by mail order. We have always
treated our customer's data as highly confidential, and we extend that attitude
to the free services on the Internet.
