Help...I can't revise a chart...I put in one time, look at the
chart, then go back and change the time, update and select a new chart.
But the chart never changes, even if I quit Netscape and come back again.
What can I do to erase the old chart completely???

Alois: Weil man voellig andere Planetenpositionen erhaelt und es sich

I was delighted to get a chart of my birthdate and surprised it
knew where Smithfield Ontario is (pop=500)! I have printed out a copy and
am now studying a book on astrology to figure out what it all means.

Being an astrologer I hate to call certian aspects ''good'' or

I have a question though, I just had your site do a chart for me for
Champaign IL for 8/19/45 which according to Doris Chase Doane was on war
time on that date (until Sept.). The chart your service produced was
calculated for central standard time.

that birth had to be registered in CST. Our service assumes that this was
observed. If you look below the timezone map, you will see a special

to this effect if you enter a date/place where this strange rule applies.

Before your most recent change of options on charts.. prior to this
High quality [censored].. you could get a sinple default chart and change
time by hitting update button and you could get several charts a day or
any day.. now you get the time it is right now even if you request 8:01AM
when it is 5:05PM..... so what am I doing wrong.. I choose the old
transits for today chart in lower part of selection because the new big
charts don't print well.... pls help me be able to do what I use to enjoy

You probably do not press the 'Update timezone' button after entering a

and all the Pullen style charts are still available if you scroll down
the list of chart types far enough.

I looked up one fixed star (Algol) which has a prominent place in my

had to read that most likely I was a murderer or other criminal,

find coordinates and to check siderian time. It is always good to have
something to compare with, even though I like to draw my charts manually.

I found the site very interesting but I was disapointed that there is
not a little more information in helping to understand what the birth
charts mean. Perhaps a little bit about ascending signs and what the

I can only say that about 5000 visiors get it right every day, and a few

it wrong.

Hello. Nice site. I am wondering if you have ever encountered
the work of one Zecharia Sitchin. Specifically regarding his thoery of a
10th planet in our solar system with an extremely elliptical orbit; approx
3600 yrs per cycle. The theory would explain a number of things
Astronomically, and would seem to fill out nicely the 12 house base of
Astrology as well. I was curious if you had any thoughts on this. Thank

You can compute positions for any date on the
Swiss Ephemeris test

where it is under the listed bodies if you choose the default otion 'all
planets'
I have enjoyed using your site to obtain copies of natal charts and
aspect graphs. However, I have had trouble with progressed horoscopes.
The data on the progressed chart, graphical ephemeris (one month) and high
quality graphical ephemeris (one year) is not in agreement. I admit to
being a severe amateur, but I thought these would all be the same. I am
certain you are incredibly busy, but I would appreciate a response if
possible. What am I doing wrong? What reports are the most reliable?

If you find a hindu astrologer, it might also be wise to express your

a bit more politely if you expect free service. "I WANT" may not be the
best way

I really do not understand anything from this chart eventhough it is in
great details and i would like to know more about it..
since I know how to make it with indian style..so my ascendent is leo and

I really appreciate your site, as I have written before. A strange
thing happened tonight, I was running my natal to include some asteroids (
love the asteroid data base) and my part of fortune came up as 10 scorp.
My part of fortune has always been 25 libra.I have ran my chart on your
system before & it has come up 25 libra. Is this something to do with the
new thing about calculating the POF differently for AM & PM Births? 25
Libra never made since to me , I have been watching the transits for years
and nothing ever happens at 25 Libra. I know you are busy but I would

Please send them by email, and refer
to your guestbook message.
Later: I checked up you chart from the log files; Pars Fortunae
is done by the formula PF= Asc + Sun - Moon, and this results
in 10 Skorpio for your case (a night birth).
If you use the day formula ASC + Moon - Sun, you get 25 Libra. There WAS A
BUG in our web program which prevented the day-formula-option to work with
the HQ charts. Now this
is fixed. I am glad I followed it up after your question, thank you.
Most astrologers make a difference between night birth and day birth
formulas
for Pars Fortunae, but some use the day formula for all charts. You seem
to
say that this did not work for you; it will be ineresting to find out
whether
the night formula works.

Alois, Thank you so much for updating your database concerning the
International Dateline for the island of Kwajalein. I no longer have to
enter info for the previous day to get a correct chart for a day
subsequent to August 20, 1993. I lived there at the time, and you are
correct about the way they went about skipping the day.
I,m going to look into the archives of the local newspaper and see
how they handled the October 1, 1969 change, and also see if there were
any local births recorded on either one of those two days. It would just
be interesting to know.
Thank you for the exact information on the dates that these two
changes took place. Even though I lived there in 1993 I had forgotten
exactly when it had been changed. Since I hadn't begun studying astrology
at the time, it hadn't seemed an important thing to remember.
Thank you again for incorporating this change into your system. I
don't know how many others may draw charts for this remote island, but I
draw many, many, and I very much appreciate your response to something
that affected my very special (though almost infantisimal) part of our
beautiful planet. You provide such a wonderful service and I am so very
thankful for it.

Alois adds: Make sure that you have selected one of the HQ natal chart
types. As far as I can see you have always chosen Pullen charts. These do
not work with the 10'000 asteroid ephemeris extension.

The solar return should be calculated on the place of residence for the
year and not the place of birth. I don't see how to do this since your
solar return uses the place of birth as a reference. Any answer?

Alois adds: As with most astrological techniques, there are various
methods
around. One is to do the solar return on the birth place.
You can always use this, make a note of the exact Universal time on the
solar return chart, and then go back and do a natal for this time and the
place you live in. This is then a relocated solar return chart.
Alternatively, you can relocate your natal, and do a solar return for
that.
It would not be trivial to add another place-lookup for the solar
return
reference place. At some time in the future we will provide it, but not
tomorrow or next week.
This is a wonderful site! I was excited to find a place to do a free
chart. I'm trying to understand how astrology works and finding out a lot
about myself in the process. The site is put together very well, it's easy
to get around and make sense out of what I'm looking at.

figure
where 4 planets form a full square. ther eis a pair of oppositions (the
cross)
and four square aspects (forming the square) involved.
If you look up the chart of the eclips on August 11, 1999, you will see
such
an aspect figure. It is generally considered a difficult constellation for
a person to have in the natal chart.

The best advice against fraud: don't pay your credit card bills without
checking each item in the statement. The Internet is by far not the only
source of credit card fraud.

I love this site! I use it regularly, but I've found a problem that I
think you should be aware of. I lived for several years on Kwajalein
Island in the Marshall Islands and am familiar with the date and time zone
details.
Your information for this area is incorrect. When it's midnight in
Greenwich it's noon of the following day in Kwajalein. Your site now shows
it as noon of the previous day. Is there any way that you can remedy this?
Up until the begining of 1994 there was a jog in the International Date
Line to artificially adjust local time and date to coincide with the US
because of the missle range missions being launced from Air Force bases in
the US.
I gave birth to my daughter there and her birth certificate is recorded
with the local time and date which is one whole day previous to the actual
day.If you have any questions please feel free to email me. I would be
happy to be of any help on this matter.

I have checked up on your info. Kwajalein
Island
went back to an east-of-dateline timezone on August 20 1993. The date is
now always a day more than on Hawaii, with 2 hours time difference.
Since Oct 1st 1969 it had been on a west-of-dateline timezone with
the same clock time but a different date
(same date as Hawaii, two hours difference).
I fixed our database; we had missed info about the switch in 1993 and had
assumed it was still on the 1969 rules.
Now our system represents the legally valid rules for all dates.
Thank you for pointing out the error.
You should consider as your dauther's birth date the date which the legal
calendar showed when she was born. Don't worry about the 'actual date'.
If you start fixing the date, it will be an endless source of trouble in
the future, when
you want to run horoscopes.
Let me explain:
Clock time and calendar dates are nothing natural, they are just
a legal convention among a group of people, typically the population of
a country or a state, so they have a common ground of what they mean
when they refer to a specific point in time.
Some people think for example that 'daylight saving time' is not the 'real
clock time' and start to fix up recorded times. This creates a mess. Every
time recording should be made in the legal reference system which was
valid for the place and date at which an event occured. This is a clear,
non-dubious type of recording.
When you combine this kind of recording with an accurate database of all
legal time and calendar laws of the world (which describe how local time
and date relates to the astronomically defined Universal Time UTC), then
everything is automatically correct.
Time and date of a birth event should be recorded with what a clock
and a calendar hanging on the wall of the room are showing, assuming this
clock
has been set to the legally correct time.
All the rest can be handled by databases and computers very easily.
If people record their birth data in different (non-legal)
reference systems, the problems start.
However one thinks about the issue
whether the legal time system is wisely chosen, one should
always obey to it.
PS: I wonder what they did on Oct 1 1969 on this island: They had the
same
day twice; how did they record a birth on that date?
On August 20 1993 a day was skipped, probably they went from 23:59 Aug 19
to 00:01 on August 21 skipping the 20th. At least this is no recording
problem,
because no date occurred twice.
PSS: You may want to read Umberto Eco's novel "The Island of the day
Before".
IMHO it is not Eco's best novel, but plays an interesting game around this
theme
of the dateline.

The site is really amazing, but I suppose that there's a problem with

I've tried once and it gave me the correct solar sign, but when I've tried
a new location (very close to the previois one) I've got a different solar

What an indispensable site! Though I'm not asking for a personal chart
evaluation, my birthday of 6/29/69 * 9:45 pm, at South Lake Tahoe, CA, may
be of some curious use to several general questions that I have. I am in
no hurry for answers, and, as I am far along in this study and without any
other place for technical answers, these questions prevent me from
definitely moving on with my life:
With a good sense and understanding of astrology, can (or should) a natal
chart (for example) be seen thru a person's life as an oracular wheel of
fortune? Taking into account the aspects between the planets, etc., would
you say if there is something to this oracular concept and to throwing the
I Ching? Coupled with numerology, can such a wheel last (or begin) as a
fate up to (or after) the next stage in one's life? Or are we talking of
a glimpse to forever? Taking into account free will, as a basic
understanding, is a chart with, say, a predominating influence of
Pluto/Scorpio more likely to be an affirmative answer to this substantive
question of destiny? Looking to the sign-power rankings provided in the
Walter Pullen chart summaries, how should one reapply a sign-ature to
one's sun sign--as an adjective?--as say, for example, a (more or less)
Scorpio Cancer? What if, in that scale, Cancer ranks down as #6? In the
scale of planets, regarding the aspects in the power-ranking makeup, are
"aspects" taken to mean the influences of the planets upon each other,
only? Or, is the relative positions and respective houses and signs
wherein they reside also taken into account to mathematicize the rankings?
Getting back to my predominating Scorpio and Pluto, can you say a little
something more beyond the astro dictionary's descript of their aspectual
properties regarding destiny, sex, death, occult, regeneration, etc? As
if they are inseperable!? It is a sublime, romantique world? In the
deepest sense of 'love' as true and eternal and wonderful, beginning,
arguendo, between a man and a woman, is there one sign or house (or combo)
to where this possibility belongs, exclusively? What if there is a
completely empty house and sign, How do planets in their aspects in nearby
houses--on a scale--determine the fate of this aspect to one's life? Is
there a possibility of no possibility to an otherwise empty sign/house
experience? The astrodictionary under "grand trine" says that each of the
three planets gain in strength? Are there--and if so, generally speaking,
what are the exceptions? What are the properties to a stellium,
especially if one of the planets (of three) is strongest of all the
planets in a chart? Taking the midheaven/immum coeli line, what sort of
properties or aspects does this bring upon the world being's make-up? Is
it possible to have one side of the line "on" more than the other?
especially if a stellium sits on one side, with planets in sexton and
trine right on either end of this line? Does one see cosmic--geometric,
trigonomic--crystal properties through a chart? About the Sign/House
dispositor hierarchy charts, using the planets, does one read That the
planets Are the rankings in the signs or houses configuration? Or,
conversely, does one read with the planet relationships and energy flows,
that the signs and houses Are the rankings, wherein the planets so reside?
I'm a little fuzzy on "nodes," also: On my Pullen chart summary, the node
is listed as retrograde. However, on the wheel, the node is not listed as
retrograde--and the position is slightly (in minutes) different. Is there
much of a difference in aspects to the two directions? And what if the
node is in Pisces--where karmic goals, for example, detail? What are the
aspects to (I don't know the technical name of the node) opposite the true
node? What if, and this may be too specific, as opposite the true node,
this other node is in a stellium? I've noticed the idea of the stars
configuring into one's horoscope. What star(s) or where does one look to
search for a star for--I've heard of the idea--one's love? I mean both
the region(s) of one's horoscope as well as some astro-web-site? If there
is karma and destiny and lessons and gifts and skills and so-forth to
one's wheel, can you say that one's life Is the working with what is given
for what we all want as human beings? Are there impossibilities to some
people which are fortunes or necessities for other's--to set up a frontier
of sorts?

chart without either the transts or progressions?? I think that it might
make things a bit easier to understand especially for the novice.

about the date, 11/11/74 in Hollywood, California, but what is your source
for the time? According to the Zodiacal Zephyr website's celebrity
database, his time of birth was 2:47 AM, which gives him Libra rising, not
Aquarius. This time comes from the birth certificate via Dataplus UK, as

quite awhile, because i have been engrossed with my study of black history

planet is sometimes called a singleton. I have heard the expression used
in lectures by

What is the significance of a fate aspect and how does it differ from
one that is not exact? I have Saturn and Neptune both in 17'02", Saturn in

Whether a specific chart contains these aspects depends on the chart
itself.
I read your info on Millennium. I am not in disagreement with your
comments but I am not sure if I agree with all your literature. I did up a
chart for the spring of 2000 and ALL the planets but Pluto are on one side
of the earth. In any studies I have done, this is NOT GOOD. Could you
clarify what this means?

Alois, I have met a friend who turns my t-square into a grand cross.
His Venus/Mars conjunction is conjunct the empty degree in my seventh
house. It is also conjunct my Vertex there and my Part of Fortune there.
(Our moons are trine.) Is this a partnership mandate? When you get your
synastry program up and running, will it be able to spot such completion
of t-square configurations?

and Julian calendar before. Could it be that you yourself do not quite
understand what you are talking about?
As a student of Astrology,I learnt that countries in the Southern
Hemisphere should have a chart where the angles are opposite of the ones
from the N.Hemisphere.Your free chart service have same sign ascending in

Alois adds: Whoever taught you that has little knowledge about the actual
practise of southern-hemispeher astrologers. I have met many of them, and
I have made an extensive tour of Australia meeting astrologers. All of the
ones I have met use the regular zodiac with no 'hemisphere transpositions'
whatsoever. My contacts with astrologers in South Africe, Argentina and
Chile had the same result.
I have met astrologers in Germany who had the same ideas as you quote,
but
they also had never any contact with practising southern-hemisphere
astrologers
and their position was a purely theoretical one, not based on chart
reading
experience. I trust the experience, not the 'theory'. This 'theory' would
imply a sudden switch of all signs at the equator. I consider it nonsense.
This is simply a great free service that you provide! I will recommend
it to my asto-friends!!!

I have a fixed cross in my chart, so I don't adjust to change easily
and I previously criticized the new changes . . .What was I thinking??? I

When I had my chart done originally, the astrologer included a heart
symbol, and said I must love my career ( it was in the 10th house ) to be
happy in life etc. How do you calculate this phenomona as I haven't seen
it any where else since? He also had a symbol he described as being two
snakes around the cross, similar to what the medics used to use, as a

I was a bit disappointed with the new page - the other one had
clearer graphics and letters: this one prints out in a rather blurry
fashion. I found many of the symbols hard to read. On the other hand, (I
