Dear Astrodienst. I received my chart reading and transit report as ordered. Thank you. I am not quite sure whether or not I will be able to articulate what I wish to say to you all, especially to the Drs. Liz Greene and Alois Treindl. The report is astonishingly correct, succinct, focused, sensitive and complete, and all this without any form of prior communication, contact or consultation. I am constantly surprised that such in-depth and intuitive information can be extracted from a simple set of birth data, Astro*Intelligence is quite amazing, the skills and experience brought to bear by the prioncipals is quite remarkable. Astrology is a precious gift to us all. My husband cried when he read the interpretation of his relationship with his parents, it was so accurately and sensitively written..

I got my chart from "astroadvise" with the same data input in yours and they are different.
Could you explain the reason. (astroadvise is using the same kind of chart placidus)

Alois adds: I cannot answer for (incorrect) charts created by other software.
Very likely the other source made an error with the timezone, i.e. used
no or incorrect information about which timezone a place belongs to, or
whether daylight savings time applied for the given date.

The reports are quality printed and bound into booklets. Getting some
pages our of your local printer does not have the same impact.
We are preparing our system to add an email-in-advance option, though. We
have to adapt our formatting software for this purpose, as our
current inhouse printing system does not use formats suitable
for typical email files and printing on PCs.
It is a very good site. Being an Indian Astrologer myself I wish there was a similar site for Indian Astrology based on Niriyan Method.

Good day. I know that Mr Noel Tyl, an international Astrologer (ex USA) who has written several books, etc. has started a major esoteric project in South Africa and has arranged (etc.) to have built what is being called casually as the Milly Dome, a modern New Age Centre in Midrand just outside Johannesburg, due to open just before y2k. Most recently he has started Astrology classes which are held at the Rudolph Steiner School in Bryanston, Johannesburg and which will result in 'hands on' astrological diploma. Anita Noyes-Smith, (no 'phone number to hand sorry), a well known Astrologer in South Africa may also help and for further information on the Milly Dome, classes, etc. you can contact the Executive Director, Mitzi at 011 463 4798, or Mr Basil Hetherington who I believe is giving the classes. As for classes in the Ballito/North Coast/Durban areas, I cannot help at all. Anita may give you some information about the Astrological Society in South Africa, who could help. your local computer into a text file, and then print it. Of course it will
contain a lot of garbage.
What I would like much better if someone would compile a FAQ (frequently
asked questions) document out of the guestbook archive. I would be happy
to publish this FAQ in its own web page, which would save a lot of questions
(and answers) in the future. Any volunteers?
I would like to be able to draw up composite charts on line..Do you have plans to include this capability and if not..any idea where I could go?

Alois adds: We do have plans but cannot promise a date. The problem is not
trivial as the web user interface needs to accomodate two sets of birth
data born on different places, plus a third place for the composite.
I have been using both astrodienst and astroadvice (another server), which both utilise the normal Placidus house system and for one set of birthdata that I entered in both systems, I got an Aquarius ascendent in astrodienst and a Pisces ascendant in astroadvice [the birthdata was 28 Feb 1980 at 5.30am in Maitland NSW Australia]. How am I supposed to determine which set of data is correct? I went back and checked both to ensure I entered the data correctly and I still got the same result. However thank you for providing a very good service.

of other astrologers. If there are differences in the chart, the error is
most likely in the timezone/daylight savings time information used.
Our database for timezones and daylight time in all countries of the world
is the most complete in existence; you should check what GMT/UT the 'other'
horoscope did use. Probably its error is in this area.
There was dayligth savings time in effect at your birthdate.
I am just learning to do charts and I am using your free service to check to see if they are right. I will not take advantage of your generosity, I much appreciate the free chart. Thank you! I got your e-mail address from the book "Day by Day Astrological Guide" by Sidney Omar.

Alois adds: Dear Todd, you can download the free ASTROLOG software and run
heliocentric charts with it. To add heliocentric charts to our list of
opions would be confusing to 99.9% of visitors and therefore do more damage
than good. The few research-oriented people who use them tend to have
their own astrology software anyway.

Personally I think that the risks of giving a credit card over the computer
are very much overestimated. It is mainly one of those media-created fears.
Any use of a credit card makes the number
available to others and could be considered risky.

This site is fantastic. I have used it to plot all my family and friends' charts and it is absolutely fascinating how accurate they are. One question: if you do not know the time of birth and have to try and rectify the chart, is there a good way to approach this, or is it different for different people?

Thanks for the feedback, Cassie. Rectification without ANY estimate of
a birth time is nearly impossible in my opinion. At least something like
'early morning', 'late afternoon' etc should be known.
There is no standard approach to rectification; all kinds of astrological
methods are used, and most of them are not simple.
The most important step should always be careful enquiry of birth registries
and in depth discussions with persons present at birth, if alive (mother,
father, mid wifes, older siblings). Only if these 'objective' methods give
no result, rectification should be used.
I'm delighted to find your wonderful site. My natal chart differs in small respects from the hand done ones I've used to date; I presume because the computer is more accurate. I'm going off to figure out the differences and whether they are significant.
I'm very pleased with Walter Pullens interpetation as that has saved me hours of bookwork from books I don't have !
A am most grateful for the progressions, as I have not done them before, and was about to spend a long time in the library learning how to do the calculations manually.
Is there any free sites for getting these interpreted, also transits plotted for the next year or so ? It would be great if there was.

Alois adds: I have been on vacation for four weeks and therefore many guestbook
entries with questions have remained unanswered for this period. Most answers
could have been found by scanning the older guestbook archive files, though.
I am happy to answer technical questions and questions related to the atlas
and timezone information we provide. I cannot start reading individual
charts here, and also I cannot teach astrology and chart reading in general.
You will find astrological literature (both excellent and poor) in most
bookshops and many libraries.
Also in the Internet one can find a lot
of chart reading material; use one of the public search engines like
Altavista or Hotbot, and search for keywords like 'astrology', 'horoscope
reading', 'chart reading'. A good starting point for Internet
astrology is also

Hello...I have questionabout my chart. I wrote the exact dates and time Kalix/28/Feb/1975/am 20/ 45 and then clicked on "show chart"..I did it twice and I got TWO diffrent charts...and still same town date year and time...How come?? Why does it show diffrent everytime I look on it...And where can I read and undertsand about my chart...how I am and what everything stands for in the chart..like..the first one I had sun in Pis. and in the second one I had sun in Can.

I compared my chart that I had done manually against the one computed at your site. I have one question- Was there daylight savings on 8/29/62? My calculations are an hour later than what appeared from your computer. Otherwise, the chart was beautiful. Excellent idea.

From the chart shown below, I have Sag in my 1st house, but have Gemini in both the 6th and 7th houses. Is this possible?
Shouldn't my 7th house be Cancer and 8th house Leo (which is completely missing from my chart) such that my 12th house is Scorpio?
Or, does the fact that three planets and a node are in retrograde effect the above.
Please help. This is a great site if the charts are correct (explanable). I'd like to order full reports once I'm certain the essentials are right.

Thank you for saving me hours of time from constructing charts. This program has saved me from much frustration and innaccuracy. However, I would like to know (for the sake of accuracy), if your chart analysis takes into consideration daylight savings time for each respective city and time zone. For the time period I am researching, daylight savings time is not consistent. For example, in certain states, half of the state (or certain cities) would participate in daylight savings time while others would disregard. Please answer! I would be grateful!
