Auf diesen siderischen Tierkreis bezieht sich Ihre NZZ-Notiz.
b) den tropischen Tierkreis, der am Fruehlingspunkt beginnt und in 12 Teile
zu je 30 Gard eingeteilt ist, welche Tierkreiszeichen heissen. Das is das
Koordinatensystem der westlichen Astrologie. Vor zweitausend Jahren waren diese
beiden Kreise in Deckung, heute sind sie gegeneinander verschoben. Die
Astrologie arbeitet nicht mit Fixsternen, sondern mit den Rhythmen unseres

Alois adds: This is really your own problem, to fit an image onto whatever
paper and printer you use.
Why don't you try printing in landscape mode, or setting a scaling factor
of less than 100% in your print dialogue?
The online longitude and latitude is really useful. Thank you, excellent idea. I wonder if many astrologers know about?

I found this a very helpful and interesting site. However, from the marketing point of view I suggest two things. First, upgrade to a secure-server technology so people feel more confident in providing credit card info over the net. Secondly, it would be wise to establish membership accounts (even with a fee) that offer reduced cost for the analysis of the charts in exchange for some volume purchases.

a normal Internet connection. 95% of the people do trust it, and the risks
are HIGHLY overestimated anyway.
We do consider the SSL option but it is not trivial to implement.
We do currently provide discounts only by individual agreement after purchases
of at least 1500 USD.
We do offer reseller conditions however, or full licenses.

not find it as well. I checked all Poland for similar sounding names,
but none is close to Stary Sacz.
For a chart, our practise is to take the next nearest larger town.
Only for birth times exact to the minute differences of 20 miles matter.

In doing a chart for April 13 1973-2am-in dublin ireland I am receiving two different ascendents from two astrology programs. The one that you offer says that the rising is Sag., but my friends says that its 09cap02. I have double checked to see if the house system is the same the date and time and lat and long. what is going on ? I found your web page to be wonderful! However, I noticed that you did not use daylight savings time to calculate for April 4, 1960 birthdays. I entered a time of 6:43 AM for the city Niagara Falls, NY and it reported a wrong ascendant. My calendar shows daylight saving time being in effect for this date.

I seem to have a similar message as other folks who have written. THANK YOU! I'm new but not green to astrology, and your service has made learning quicker and easier. (Moment of silence for Uranus.) I do have a question about the various types of charts. I learned how to cast a chart graphically using equal houses. Could you explain any significant differences between the different chart types? (e.g. Koch vs. Placidus vs. Equal... etc.)

There are many different house systems in use by astrologers.
Placidus, Koch and Equal houses are the most common ones, followed by
Campanus and Regiomontanus.
It comes down to be a matter of taste which one you use. They represent
different ways to divide the celestial sphere into sections.
It is like explaining different musical tastes of different people:
I cannot do it.
I find this site very useful, but I find some of your information very inaccurate. I wrote several days ago explaining an error in the time zone for Craik Saskatchewan where I was born. This town is NOT in Mountain Standard Time it is still in Central Standard Time. I received a reply that this was not an error but due to the date on which I was born that that was the effective time. No matter which date or year I key in that remains the given time zone, and it is incorrect. To the last person who commented on their Ascendant being different depending on which book they read, it is errors in time zones that usually account for inaccurate Ascendants.

We may have a problem with the CRAIK area in our database.
We are expecting an update to the timezone database which is promised to
contain some corrections for Canada.
We hope to fix the error then. It looks like about 26 towns in SK are
affected by being assigned to MST instead of CST. As you know, the state
is split in the two timezones, and there have been various changes in the
assignments over the years.
Thank you for the chart. I have a question. Why does my Ascendent appear as a different sign, depending on the book that I read. You chart has me as an Pieces, another has me as a Gemini, and still another has me as an Aquarius. I believe they are Placidus house charts. Could you explain please?

I like the methodical presentation and layout of this page. But being an eager learner, I have for you a question regarding the validity of planetary positions as shown in the chart. After comparing the positions of planets as mentioned in your chart with that of Vedic Astrology, I found that all planets are displaced by 23degrees ahead in your chart. I would appreciate if you could clear my doubt as to why this is so, and which one is correct.

Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac, Western astrology uses the
tropical zodiac which is also used in contemporary astronomy as a celestial
coordinate system.
Both deviate from each other because of precession, the
motion of the equinoxes relative to the fix star celestial background.
Western astrology is concerned with the rhythms of our immediate cosmic
environment, the solar system, which moves
in relation to the fixed stars, whereas sidereal astrology binds
itself to the distant fixed stars. It uses the astronomical zodiac of 2000
years ago. To me personally western astrology makes
much more sense because of this.
It is a matter of taste which style of astrology you follow.

Hi folks, what a great site, a real highlight!! I look around and search the web, but there isn't anything more amazing like this online stuff. Keep on computing! There is only one question left: I'm a Mac-User and I downloaded that lovely ASTROLOG thing and it works well, thank you. But excuse me, I'm a little unhappye using a text-based interface, I like it very much to do it with my mouse (not what you might think of know) and some of this nice symbols and graphics and menus and so on. Hello. Your service is wonderful but I found a discrepancy in the daylight savings time consideration for Toronto, Ontario. When I put in Feb. 15, 1971, 3:45am (my birthdate and time) I find that my ascendant is in Sagittarius. However, I know that my ascendant is in fact in Capricorn. Can you please comment on this discrepancy for me? Thank you very much. And thank you for this free service.

The 'fact' you quote is not correct.
Only from 4.20 am on that morning
there was Capricorn rising in Toronto.
The chart and calculations seem wrong.
I had a Chart Evaluation in India according to which the planetray positions are different and even my Ascendant is showing up as Capricorn and not Aquarius as shown in your report.

Alois adds: The problem is that most Indian astrologers use a zodiac
(sidereal zodiac) whose position on the sky was only correct about 2000 years
ago. Try the 'sidereal chart' among the list of optional chart types. It
should give the same result as your Indian chart. If those disagree, the
Indian astrologer made an error with the timezone or daylight savings time.

Question: Which date(s) are you referring to?
As far as I am informed only the province Baja California Norte has observed
Daylight savings time like the USA (since 1976),
but all other provinces of Mexico did not observe daylight savings time.
Has this changed recently, and if yes, when (which year), and which
provinces are affected?
Alois later: I have found a source which says that starting 1996, all of Mexico has
dayligth savings time like the USA.
I have implemented this into our database.
the site really is fantstic. You are missing a few things, though. Please add an option for a natal/transit chart and a progressed/transit chart. A solar arc progression scart would be great too! And a solar arc/natal and solar arc/progressed, would be amazing!

Your Astrointelligence reports on Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles are really excellent. I notice that for Princess Diana's chart you are using 19:45 as her time of birth. As I'm sure you are aware, there are some astrologers, especially the Vedically inclined, who swear that the alternate possibility, 14:15, is the correct one. I take it you feel that they are not correct. Have you tried your reports using the 14:15 birthtime? Perhaps running two "Meaning of the Time" reports for the year of her death, one for each of the two possible birthtimes, could resolve the issue once and for all, which would be very helpful. If you've already done this, I'd be very grateful for your comments on the results. Thank you very much.

I made my first horoscope 20 years ago,
