I am doing some astrology self-study and can't even begin to tell you how helpful your service is to me and the other people I have passed the info on to! Thank you so much! I would love to know how to send the calculated chart to someone else on line though - is that possible?

Alois adds: Use your browser to save the page in a file, and then send this file as a mail attachment from your email program.

You cannot simply send the URL (address of the web page) of the chart without actually copying it to a file because the chart image created temporarily for you will be deleted on our server within 60 minutes, so that the file referred to by the URL will not be a valid reference later.

On Netscape, the option 'Send Page' in the file menu will therefore not work (or only for 60 minutes). You have to use 'Save Page' with the option 'as source' to some local file on your computer. I don't know the corresponding menu options for MS Explorer because I do not use it.

Impressive! Your site is a goldmine for every astrologer with internet access. Thanks a lot for promoting astrology this way!

It`s great to have such a chart writing service available at no charge. Thanks! I still find pleasure in calculating horoscopes manually through use of an ephemeris etc,but as much of my time is taken up with science and language studies/(and will be for the next four years)this astro/chart writing service has been a god send, and has meant that I can continue with my investigation/study and use of astrology. The hindsight project which Robert Hand is involved in sounds like a treat(write up my street....vägen)Any info on that would be appreciated+ I would be interested in reading Liz Greenes writings on palas junus vesta cerves and CHIRON. Specialist books in english cost so much in this part of Sweden so an address to a publisher(in England)who stocks your books and trades with overseas customers would be a great help..Once again thanks

I was born in the 2nd biggest city in Thailand, it's named Chiang Mai and there is no such a location for this city at all. I found the name of very small city named Chiang Doa instead. Please make this Chiang mai name available to choose on your list . I believe there will be a lot more people from ChiangMai than in Chiang Dao, since Chiang Dao is only part of the province not the Province itself.

Alois adds: When I type
chi, thai
I get a list of 7 cities in Thailand, among them Chiang Mai.
1.Chiang Dao, THAI: 19n22, 98e58, Thailand
2.Chiang Kham, THAI: 19n32, 100e18, Thailand
3.Chiang Khan, THAI: 17n52, 101e36, Thailand
4.Chiang Khian, THAI: 19n37, 100e0, Thailand
5.Chiang Mai, THAI: 18n47, 98e59, Thailand
6.Chiang Rai, THAI: 19n54, 99e50, Thailand
7.Chiang Saen, THAI: 20n16, 100e05, Thailand

The simple rule is: type less, find more.

Awesome chart coversion. It's so great that such a powerful tool is readily available to just about anyone at no charge. The charts are helping me with my own interpretation of my horoscope. I am so very fascinated by all that I am learning. You see, I'm Sagittarius w/Scorpio rising and Moon in Scorpio, so I'll keep researching this on my own until I feel confident that I've learned all I can learn. At that point I will return to this site for a "professional" horoscope and compare the findings. Your site has really unleashed the novice astrologer that I am and for that I am grateful. Many thanks. Regards, Angie

This is a complicated question -- please bear with me! My parents have told me that, in order to register my birth as occurring on the same day as my father's birthday, they chose to ignore the hour's difference brought about by daylight savings time. This (I think) means that, instead of being born at 11:06pm, Sept. 21, 1953, as I have always thought, I was really born at 12:06am, Sept. 22, 1953. My place of birth was Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. Could you please tell me on what day the change to daylight savings occurred that year? Thanks!

Regensburg, Deutschland --- Tuesday, March 24, 1998 at 13:08 Swiss time

I found your site by just searching for info thanks so much. robin

Hello, my name is Rebecca. I am a Pisces who is interested in finding out what my rising sign is, and how to identify what is what on a chart..I was born in Seattle, Wa. at 1:06pm on March 12, 1978. I was also wondering if the fact that I was supposed to be born on June 12, ( I was 3 months premature, ) which would have made me a Gemini.. would mean anything in who I am... I am very Pisces, but sometimes I possess Geminian qualities.. please write me back... Thankyou, Rebecca

Only the actual birth moment matters in astrology, be it premature, artificailly induced or anything.

To the authors, I have been interested in the field of astrology for at least 14 years now. I am very serious in learning more about the aspects and synastry of my personal chart and friends' charts/other people's charts. I call myself an uncertified astrologer, because I have not taken any such courses. I do construct people's personal natal and solar charts, and I am getting better at it each passing day. I was visiting various sites and I clicked on yours; I am very glad that I did just that because your site is just what I was searching for. It is easy to understand and read, and it is also quite fascinating in itself. I would like to ask and or clear up something that is picking away at me...so if you could get back to me with a response, I would be grateful. I clicked on my chart/map on your site, and it appears that I have the signs Sagittarius, Leo, Aries, and I think Cancer in my houses. I am not supposed to have these signs in my chart. I have constructed my own one, and have had my chart done by a professional astrologer. I am aware of where my signs and planets are, and in what houses they fall in. Again...my date of birth is May 15, 1970, and my time of birth is 4:06pm, and location is Montreal, Canada. Please, if you could take the time and respond to me....thanks so much. Is it possible that I could have read it incorrectly? -- Jen

You need to go to www.astro.com.my !!

Thanks for your service. I wanted a chart with Koch houses but it keeps coming back with 'Porphyry' Houses. Is this the same? Having read your guest book with all the comments about time zones - I suggest you could add a notice to your site pointing out that you have a very good database which takes account of all known changes to time zones world-wide and tell people to stop pestering you about this!! best wishes Graham Timmins

Graham Timmins [ *aol.com ]

Alois adds: No, Koch and Porphyry is not the same. Is the city you make the chart for north of the polar circle? Koch houses do not exist there, and our program switches to Porphyry (which divides each quadrant into three equal sections).

Thanks for the comment about the timezones. We have thought that the supreme quality of our database is obvious, the data show it much better than any verbal claim could. But maybe you are right and we will follow your suggestion.

Thank you for your reply regarding the Indian sidereal zodiac. You are quite correct. Once using that the position of the planets are as told by the Thai astrologer. Now how would I use this to make the charts from ASTRO for Windows by Christopher J. Noyes, Version 1.16. What type of time zone, time code and the hours and minutes do I use to ensure that the charts come to the same as Indian Sidereal Zodiac. What is the difference between the western astrology and the Indian except that it differs by approximately one sign. Regards, Utoomporn

Alois adds: We provide a free online service to compute charts with our software which is on our server.
How you have to use software you have on your PC is not our concern. Please ask the programmer who created it or the shop which sold it to you.
The questian about the difference between the astrological systems cannot be answered in a simple way. It is about the same as the difference between Islam and Christian religion - common roots, a lot of overlap, but a quite different way to wisdom. In many respects they are mutually exclusive and don't mix well.

Sorry about the typo in previous feedback. The correct Denpasar (Indonesia) time offset is GMT+8. Thank you.

Alois adds: Such a number is of little value without a range of dates. Timezones are always changing, due to law changes, daylight savings time etc. When did 8h timezone start and/or end, what dates are you referring to?

Thank you for this great site! It's been a real help. A correction: Denpasar (Indonesia) time offset is GMT+7 (same as Singapore).

I read somewhere recently (but can't remember where I saw this) that one of my planets is finally moving after causing me approx. 14 years of bad luck. I'm an Aries and this horoscope said to look for improvements around March 8th. Well, I've had 14 years of bad luck, and my luck changed for the better dramatically on March 9th! Can you tell me what's going on? Thanks!

Ein faszinierendes Program! Nur, ich verstehe es nicht ganz, warum Seoul, mein Geburtsort, zur Zone h8e30, nicht einfach h8 zugeordnet wird. More on relocation - if we don't relocate a progressed chart for a move, what about natal chart data using the upcoming location?! I tried it with your wonderful website and the only major difference I saw was my moon sign move ahead one sign (from Taurus to Gemini, what a difference!) What do people do to find how a new place will be for them specifically?! Again, thanks for a very neat website.

I was born in Hong Kong on 2 Aug 1963 at 08:20 a.m. Your calculations show an offset of 9 hours from GMT (h9e). Until now I believed there were only 8 hours difference (h8e)! Is it true that Hong Kong has experienced a perminant change in time zone in 1980/1981? Or why does your programme show a change between 1980 and 1981? I'm puzzled. Unfortunately, my chinese isn't good enough to ask the authorities in Hong Kong, so I kindly ask for your reassurance: Can I rely on your time zone conversion for Hong Kong? And by the way, thank you for your excellent service.

I love being able to put birth info into a computer and have it spit out a chart, instead of having to do it by hand! However, I don't understand how different programs can give such different results. For example, for a 7/4/64 5am, London, U.K. birth, I got a 12'Cancer ascendant through your program, yet two other programs I have on my computer gave an ascendant of 21' Cancer and 25' Cancer. Who the heck do I trust? I think I'll have to just do it by hand and hope my math is correct! Do you have explaination that will help me understand this discrepancy? I mean, a Cancer sun that sits on the ascendant is quite a bit different than one that hides in the 12th House. Then there's the fact that an 10' Pisces Midheaven would be affected by the last solar eclipse, but not if the midheaven is 24' Pisces! What am I supposed to say to the subject.... "the next 12 months could really blow the roof off your career... or maybe not, let's just wait and see, okay?"

Dear Friends! (What else can people like you be to anyone?) I began to use your site a half a year ago, and it works, and it works... I did find two persons born about 18.00 march 22 and 23, their charts are a mirrorpict of "the basic horoscope": Ascendant 0 ° in Lib 90° to MC . When I saw something twisted i this, they were some kind of opposits to themselfes, they told me they were homosexuals. Is this something general? Hi, great site etc. as you know. Suggest however you warn people that daylight saving isn't taken into account.

Also its possible to get caught with the "update timezone" arrangement.....its clear if you think of course but most of us don't always and maybe that could made a bit clearer. Thanks heaps for the site. luv,j

Jeremy Dixon [ *hotmail.com ]
Melbourne, Australia --- Thursday, March 5, 1998 at 03:43 Swiss time

Alois adds: Of course is daylight savings time taken into account. It is the main purpose of our service that this is automatic. If there is an error for a specific data and place, please notify us. Our database has not been updated for all countries for the most recent years, which may affect charts of young children.

Re 'Update Timezone' button: What makes you say that most people do not 'think'? My impression is that they do, only very few don't. Even for those is no problem if they can read the few words "Please enter a time and date and press the Update Timezone button". Without reading, yes, there is a problem. I am sorry for that, or should I say 'for you'?

The Astrodienst Service is a "life-saver!" However, I count on the progressed angles for an important part of my work with clients. Your service calculates these angles differently than any other I have seen. For example: I have natal: 29 Gemini 21 degrees rising, and on the MC, 10 Pisces 37. Natal Sun: 4 Gemini 47 49'. However the progressions to March 3, 1998 are very different from the calculations of personal software: Astrodienst: Asc 7 Leo, MC 29 Aries, Sun 18 Cancer 40. The progressions are as follows for the personal software: Asc 03 Leo 59, MC 24 Aries 20, Sun 18 Cancer 41. These are secondary progressions, tho' I am sure the Solar Arc would be the same. Does your program have superior math formulas for calculations of this type? Sincerely, Claire-France Perez
