It is really good to see such a good inteface
for finding the right place. You really must
have had a lot of sweat registring villages of
only some hundred inhabitants.
With an aspect and orb table, the calculation- work
will be done, and an option for choosing a higher
resolution of the charts it will be splendid!!!

I'm impressed. Nice website and very handy.
I frequently need to determine offsets from GMT
for various locations globally and this is a great
help. I haven't looked, but what would really
be a help is an indication of daylight savings
time observance and the corresponding dates.

I really appreciate your website. I have one question though, In Maine, where I was born, the time zone is off. Maine is listed as EST, however it should be in one zone earlier; I think it's called Atlantic Time. Will this throw my Ascending Sign off? And if so, how do I correct it? Thanks again. Alois adds: Maine is a complex state with many different timezone and daylight
time rules for different
cities and counties. You need to specify the date and location if you want us
to investigate any doubt you may have in our information. Basically Maine
is on EST, with some exceptions.

After 20 years of wondering, I researched the timezone of my birthcity, Lafayette IN. Using microfilm of the local newspaper from 1954, I verified all local businesses & gov't facilities used CDS summer of that year. The local hospital assures me it has always been their custom to record local birthtime. Presuming all my sources are accurate, will i not have to adjust my *recorded* birthtime in Central Daylight to accomodate this sites Central Standard setting for my area by adding 1hr to the birthtime? Sorry for the long post-and thanks. This is a terrific website!!!

the problem with a debugger and found an error in our program code.
There is special code to handle Indiana in the 1950ies and 60ies
because timezones in this state have been total chaos. Several hundred tables
in the database are needed to describe Indiana timezones. Each town decided
independently every year whether to use daylight time or not.
While our tables (congratulation, Tom Shanks)
had the correct information, I made an error when I programmed the handling
of special Indiana flags which resulted in incorrect output for those parts
of the state on CST. This error could be fixed now.
If you try the atlas again, it will give the correct Daylight savings time
for Lafayette, Indiana, in the year 1954 and other affected years.

This is something one can give to a prospective client before they come for an analysis. Might save some time and some laborious explanations.

I have yet to come across an astrological site
that is so useful. I detest doing charts by hand,
it is tedious, time consuming, and at times not
terribly accurate. The more charts one looks at
the better astologer one can become. You can see
infinitely more charts when they're done by computer
than when they're done by hand.
This is also better than the cheap astological
programs I've used in the past. Once again, it
is faster and more accurate. Thanks for saving me
a lot of pencil work and hassle with lesser
programs.

I am glad to see that there is a program accessible to all that gives natal charts. However, I am finding discrepancies between the chart that this application gives for me and a friend of mine and the chart that I had done for myself on Matrix software and my friend by S.O.S. consulting. This application here puts my planets in different houses changes his rising sign. How am I supposed to know which is right? Please send me an e-mail and let me know. Thank you.

The most common error with charts is the use of the wrong timezone
and daylight saving time information.
You have to give me the chart data (date, time, place) to check.
There can only be one rising sign - the correct one.
We are very experienced at Astrodienst with doing charts - over the
seventeen years of astrological service we have done many hundreds of
thousands of charts for paying clients.
I think this is fantastic, because for most astrological charting, we need the time and exact location of birth in terms of latitutde and longitude. Your charts are also very useful if one needs to consult an astrologer.

Absolutely wonderful. Could you include a Jyotish
(Sidereal/Hindu/Vedic) version as well? After all,
their ephemeris is only about 21 degrees behind the

Great thing to have fun with, astrology is one of my favorite things to contemplate. One question though I am assuming you have daylight savings times automatically entered as my own chart comes out Aquarius asc at times and Capricorn at others. In America I was told I was an antisocial Capricorn Libra combination which I could never accept totally. Thanks again. I was born oct 5 1957 in Dinuba.
