We think that the area of medical astrology is to sensitive to be handled from such a distance. It should be reserved to personal astrological consultation, and even there an astrologer needs to be very careful. In many countries it is against the law to provide medical advice without the proper medical qualifications. This is why Astrodienst has chosen to stay away from the field of medical astrology.

Alois adds: The Sun entered Pisces on 19 feb 1963 at 09:09 AM Universal Time. This is 04:09 AM New York time. Before that time, the Sun was still in Aquarius.The exact date and time of sign change varies from year to year. For example in 1962, the Sun's ingress into Pisces was 19-feb, 03:15 am UT, which is 18-feb-1962, 10:15 pm New York Time. In 1961, it was 18-feb 4:16 pm NY time.

Alois adds: 80 km distance in location makes only as much difference as a change of 4 minutes in time, i.e. it is mostly irrelevant (one degree change of house cusps).

But I have this to say: You should never force a horoscope on anyone who has not asked for it. Leave the friend alone - he will find his own astrology at the time he is ready for it.

I recommend to remain rather skeptical towards any claims by astrologers about rigid relationships between particular planetary constellations/movements and the mental health problems you mention. Some astrologers make unqualified claims without the necessary careful study of each individual case. I do not think that medical advice by email, without an extensive interaction with the patient(s), would be responsible professional work.

[added later] I asked a friend who is working as a trained psychoanalyst and astrologer, and this is what she commented:

I am pretty appalled by the freedom with which the diagnosis "bipolar" seems to be handed out in the US at the moment; it is obviously the fashionable diagnosis, so everyone with any emotional problems is receiving it, which makes the whole diagnosis meaningless. This is probably connected with some particular medication which is popular at the moment, and cynical though it sounds, fashions in psychiatric diagnosis tend to follow fashions in new medications. I have in fact kept an astrological eye on what used to be called manic depression (and is now called bipolar), and have found that it has little to do with Uranus.

Currently I have a saturn retrograde trine the sun transit. According to your site I will experience difficulty/challenges in about 4 years. I am currently in grad school for a MA in counseling. It is amazing how accurate the daily and long term readings have been for me during the past 6 months. In another year I will graduate and then it will take two years to work for liscensure. Finally I will take an exam and this will be close to 4 years in the future. I hope this is the only obstacle I will face. I began studying astrology aboaut 6 years ago and it is my joy. I would rather have a chart than a Rorschach to help me gain insight into another! Fortunately I've met some really excellent astrologers and hope to study again in the future when grad school is over. This site is invaluable to me now especially when I have no money and need free info! Please understand that we do not give personal consultations in the feedback area. I make only a slight exception in your case, as the mention of the '4 years' period in the text was actually misleading - it only applied to the trine which happes 10 years after the Saturn-Sun conjunction, i.e. 4 years before the opposition, but not to the other trine 9-10 before the Saturn-Sun conjunction. I have reworded the reading slightly to fix that.

You have no reason to worry. A Saturn Sun contact can very much be an experience of strength, not of difficulty, if you are prepared. I think you are already. Here is Robert Hand's text again:

Further training
At this time the circumstances of your life and your own inner energies are working quite well together. Whether your birth certificate recorded wrist watch time (which would be usual and sensible practice) or a manipulated time we cannot know.

Alois adds: For the orbs we use in our standard chart styles, please see the page http://www.astro.com/info/in_aspect_e.htm and scroll to the bottom.

Orbs are a matter of personal taste, like the dress you wear. Our standard web styles use Liz Greene's customary orbs. Other chart styles have rather different settings, but these are currently not documented on the website (you can try the definition files in directory /h/mthsrc but do not expect to understand anything or to get an explanation).

A user interface to allow full fredom in choice of orbs on this website would be far to complex. If you need that, you are better off with astrology software for your PC, like Kepler or Solar Fire.

Please be aware that a large orb does not say anything about the importance you place on an aspect. Wider orbs will have the effect that you see more aspects in a chart, so you don't overlook them. Whether you then consider aspects with a wide orb as relevant or not, is a decision you have to make when you interpret the chart - if you want to disregard wide orb aspects of a night Sun, the decision is up to you. You might still want to see those aspects, so that you can consciously decide, and learn.

So anyway, I just felt that I should maybe speak up for Hand and Pelletier, because having recently lived through some very negative transits, I know that it can help to validate your own experience when someone else tells you that yes, this is a bad time for you, but it will definitely end by such and such a time. I tell myself this now, when I read the Chiron transits presently gracing my Astrodienst readings. You want to feel depressed, try reading the interpretations of Chiron conjunct Chiron, or Chiron opposition Ascendant, or Chiron opposition Uranus, all of which I have at present. Ouch!

But I can also see the value of his blunt, no-nonsense interpretations. We have an ongoing project of editing his text to take of the edges, but with the recent gigantic work our online editors had to put into the new foreign languages for the website, there has not been much progress with this task.

Die Interaktion zweier Horoskope ist von Natur aus komplex, man hat doppelt so viele Horoskopelemente und die Anzahl der Wechselwirkungen steigt quadratisch an, im Vergleich zum Einzelhoroskop. Das macht es selbt für erfahrene Astrologen schwierig, eine zuverlässige Einschätzung einer Beziehung abzugeben. Meist muss man sich darauf beschränken, die tatsächlich wahrgenommenen Wechselwirkungen astrologisch zu beleuchten.

Manche Menschen brauchen Spannung, andere suchen Harmonie - aber es ist keineswegs einfach, dieses Bedürfnis zuverlässig aus dem Einzelhoroskop abzulesen. Ausserdem ist es zeitlich nicht konstant.

Sehen Sie sich die verschiedenen Arten von Partnerschaftshoroskopen, die wir anbieten, einmal gründlich an, und wählen Sie, was Ihnen vom Stil her am ehesten zusagt.

Alois adds: You can create an ephemeris yourself in the Swiss Ephemeris test page. It is not important to include any asteroid in the natal chart, it can actually be rather confusing. Only after you have really understood the whole chart just with the regular planets, you can start playing with asteroids. Don't be seduced by Eros' name, it is just a minor asteroid. Look at Venus in your chart to understand 'Eros' as a theme.

Alois adds: Was ist schon 'normal' - dass wir Fussbodenheizung und prall gefüllte Supermärkte haben und nicht alle paar Winter einige Mitglieder der Sippe verhungern, erfrieren oder vom Säbelzahntiger verspeist werden, ist das 'normal'? Der Begriff der Normalität ist sehr relativ für die jeweilige Kultur.

Die Astrologie ist pragmatisch - sie arbeitet mit der realen Geburtszeit, aus welchen Gründen auch immer diese zu Stande kam. Bewusst aus astrologischen Gründen die Geburtszeit zu beeinflussen fällt unter das Kapitel Hybris, so wie andere Manipulationen im Bereich der 'Reproduktionsmedizin' auch. Das müssen die verantworten, die sie praktizieren.

Auch nach meiner eigenen Erfahrung gilt das Horoskop des tatsächlichen Geburtsmoments. Ich kannte bei meinen Töchtern die Geburtszeit bereits am Tag vor der Geburt, hätte sie aber nur unter grössten Bedenken aktiv beeinflussen wollen. Die "medizinischen" Sorgen sind in einer solchen Situation meist wichtiger als die astrologischen.

Eine gewisse Widersprüchlichkeit in meiner Haltung ist mir bewusst - wie kann man von der Astrologie überzeugt sein, und sie in einer solchen Schlüsselsituation nicht aktiv "zum Besten des Kindes" einsetzen wollen. Aber nur weil etwas machbar ist, ist es noch lange nicht gut, es zu machen, selbst wenn man die Astrologie wichtig nimmt. Das Horoskop eines Menschen ist so multidimensional und die meisten Menschen sind überraschend kreativ darin, wie sie die Konstellationen ihres Horoskops ausleben. Das Horoskop ist oft klüger als die Astrologen, die es zu deuten versuchen.

Zugleich sind die schwierigen Elemente eines Horoskops sowieso nicht zu eliminieren - irgendwo müssen Saturn oder Pluto usw. ja hinkommen; wichtige Aspekte zwischen den langsameren Planeten wird man durch eine Zeitmanipulation auch nicht los. Wenn man mit grösseren Aspektorben (10°) arbeitet, so dauert ein bestimmter Aspekt der inneren Planeten zu den äusseren ca. 20 Tage. So viel Spielraum hat man bei der Geburtsplanung nicht, ausser man ist SEHR manipulativ. Die Möglichkeiten, das Horoskop auszusuchen, sind also doch recht begrenzt. Daher ist es m.E. sinnvoller, auf Manipulationsversuche ganz zu verzichten und sich erst mal auf das Kind und die Geburt zu freuen.

Alois adds: I agree that there are significant differences in quality of writing between the various authors we are working with - as there are, for example, between teachers working at a particular school or university. In life, you have to work with what you have got.

However, I do not agree with your judgement of Robert Hand's writing. The longer we work with his text, particularily on Transits, the more respect I have got for his work. Many of his short transit descriptions are brilliant, and they are certainly not shallow. The planetary events are often shallow, i.e. most of the transits showing up in the daily horoscope arise from transiting Moon, Sun, Mercury and Venus, and these do often have no deep meaning, they are just ephemeral and hopefully entertaining.

Very little of the text in the free horoscope section is from Liz Greene. Only 'Astrology for Lovers', and while this is "just" sun-sign astrology, it is indeed deep, funny and very intelligent. We would love to have more of her in the free area, but we do not want to rip her work apart to present it in short 'point and click' bytes. The longer form of the printed reports with 20 to 40 pages is much more appropriate for her style, and this kind of quality has its price - we can't offer it for free. I do even think it would not be appreciated enough if it was for free.

A lot of the negativity issue arises from the fact that we present text in rather short quantities on the website, one screen-ful or popup-window-ful at a time. The perception of the reader is different than when he/she would be reading a lengthy printed report or a textbook. The impact of single sentences is much stronger in the web application. It is not necessarily the fault of the authors, who wrote their material originally for lengthy printed reports.

We are learning, and we are working on continuous improvements. Sometimes the bashing we receive is helpful. It is not that the customer is always right - I do certainly not subscribe to that silly idea, as is obvious from my responses. In many cases the customer is outright stupid. But one can always learn something from the feedback.

Eros is one of about 10'000 named asteroids. Eros is special as it approaches the Earth rather closely - for example in 2012 as close as 0.18 AU. On 12 feb 2001, the NEAR space probe was landed on it by Nasa.

Most asteroids are not 'important' in astrology, but sometimes to play with.

Don't be mislead by Eros' name. To understand the theme of 'Eros' in your chart, look at Venus, not at some obscure little asteroid.

Alois adds: We have a midnight (Universal time) ephemeris for 1500 - 2100, see Homepage, left column. For Universal time at noon, you take the middle between two midnight listings. For local noon, you have to interpolate according to your local timezone between Universal time midnight points.

My view is that astrology, numerology, alchemy, etc are in the domain of spirituality. They're methods to learn and grow. I have many questions and I will continue to ask them so that I can understand what it is I am doing here.

Alois adds: Sorry about the mistake. Yes, Neptune/IC does indeed read rather negative. We will edit it in due time. The problem is that the text comes from a 'teaching book', where the reader reads the whole text more or less at once. An occasionally negative tone is not so noticeable, as it is balanced by other sections. In AstroClick, when single text blocks jump at you as individual readings, the impact is much stronger.

Your feedback is welcome. I have received a few to many comments in recent days where readers were going on about the supposed negativity of our readings - it is strange how these reactions appear in chunks.

With our system, it is sufficient to enter the first two or three letters of a city name. The number of hits will be larger and you have to scan a longer list, but with uncertain spelling this might be wise - type less, find more. Also, the transcription of local Indian names to English in our atlas does not follow the most modern rules - Mumbai is still Bombay, etc.

If you don't like what one writer says, why not find another, or write yourself...

About a supposed negative tone of some horoscope readings: We do not sugarcoat everything. In most cases of comments like yours, when I looked at the text myself - here Neptune/MC in Astroclick Travel - I found that the commentator had apparently read only part of the text. If you read the four paragraphs of Neptune/MC instead of only the first two, you will find that it is not at all that negative, even when it indeed starts off that way.

Alois adds: You might make a thinking error. Doctors and nurses don't have to honor time zones, when they record a birth time. They only have to look at their wrist watch or wall clock and record the wrist-watch time. This is what they do, and this is what our data entry page requires to get entered.

It is our software which has to take timezones into account, and we do that VERY WELL, much better than you will ever be able to. You need not think about that issue for one second when you use astro.com - you will only introduce errors, if you use anything other than recorded wrist-watch time.

The answer is dependent on what you mean by "the same configuration". If you want to be precise, i.e. by one degree, then the period will be much longer than the existence of the Solar system, i.e. 'never'. If you just want all planets in the same sign again, the repetition rate is about once per million of years.

When you look into a mirror, the mirror does not "influence" you, but it allows you to look at yourself. You might then act upon yourself and "influence" yourself, depending on what you see or don't see or want to see.

For information about Chiron, please see the area 'Understanding Astrology' -> Advanced articles on our homepage. For the Moon's Nodes, we don't have much information at this time. If you look at them as the meeting point between the Solar and the Lunar plane of existence, you get a first hold of their meaning. They are not planets, they are places of (potential) encounter of planets and of planetary 'forces'.

We are cleverly tipping the scales in the personal daily horoscope, to weigh and select what is most likely relevant. But you have to keep in mind that we cannot simple look each day for 'the most relevant' transit. It would have the result that for many days in a row the same transit reading would appear, which most people would find boring and silly. You need to be aware of the fact that for each daily horoscope requested on our website, we always compute transits for the whole year for this chart, find the optimal distribution for 365 day-slots and then display the particular day-slot of the requested day. Our servers are VERY fast in doing this complex analysis, because every second they have to answer several requests for personal daily horoscopes.

Lunar transits, i.e. transits by the moving Moon, have the lowest priority in the selection. The Moon makes its circle through your birth chart in 27 days and repeats all transits with this frequency - while squares, sextiles and trines happen twice within each circle. This makes Moon transits the most frequent and the least interesting events, and they are only used in the daily horoscope if nothing better can be found for a given day.

How often we have to fall back to a Moon transit for a given chart depends on the overall distribution of the other planets in the chart. They may be "nicely" distrubuted in such a way, that their transits fill most of the 365 day-slots we have in a given year for the daily horoscope. Then you will find few Moon transits.

If the other planets are distrubuted in a way that they often compete for space in the same day slots, while there remain many day-slots to which none of the more important planetary transits can be attributed, then the program has to fall back to Moon transits more often. The placement of the natal Moon, or the weight on Cancer in the natal chart has little influence on the choice of Moon transits. In the average, about 60 out of 365 day slots are filled with Moon transits.

If for a given day there are several transits competing for the top place in the day slot, the weight evaluation is rather complex. The natal planet is evaluated according to its role in the chart, the nature of the aspect is considered, and slower transiting planets have much more weight than faster ones. But also another factor is taken into account: slower transits have a longer duration, and it does not really matter whether you find their reading a few days earlier or later in the daily horoscope - they have a long term effect anyway. Therefore, their reading is often shifted to a day when there is nothing else of relevance on that day. Faster transits with a short period of relevance cannot be shifted to another day, so they either get assigned to the current day slot or to none at all. This mechanism often lets a faster transit win for a particulr day-slot, because the reading of the slower transit is presented on another day within its period of relevance.

Alois adds: The Sun does not change signs at midnight on fixed days in YOUR timezone. It changes signs at totally uneven times, and the exact date and time varies from sign to sign and year to year.

The 'sun sign lists' published in newspaper horoscopes are just approximate guidelines - you cannot rely on them if you are born on a border day around a sign change. One needs to compute the Sun's position for the particular date, time and location when you were born. This is what we do.

If you follow a good newspaper, you will often find a note around March 20/21 that the spring is about to begin at a certain date and time, e.g. March 20 2002, at 7:16 pm Universal Time. This is when the Sun entered Aries this year. Next year it will be March 21, 2003, at 01:00 am Universal Time, and in 2004 it will be March 20, at 06:49 am.

The same variation happens with all sign changes.

The phase of the Moon is represented by the angle between the Sun and the Moon in your birth chart, starting at the Sun, counterclockwise. Zero degrees will be a new moon, 90 degrees a growing half moon, 180 degrees a full moon, etc.

Dear ..., the angle from the Sun, forward in the zodiac, to the Moon, is the Moon phase. Just look at the angle between these two planets in any chart drawing.
If you find this too difficult, please use the 'Lunar Phases Fertility Calendar' (under the group 'Astrodienst Spezial'). It gives the Phase of the Moon already computed, as a value between 0° and 359°,

Alois adds: No, not really. The birth chart remains always the relevant horoscope. One might discover new sides inside oneself, or other persons may see you a bit differently when the progressed Asc changes. But to me this is mostly theory.

I personally have never been really impressed with the results I got from progressions - contrary to transits, which I tend to feel strongly. But I respect those more experienced astrologers who work with progressions.

Alois adds: Would make no sense to me. I never saw an astrologer suggesting such a technique.

Progressions are a symbolic extension of the natal chart in its development during the WEEKS after birth (with the SYMBOLIC rule 1 day = 1 year of life). I cannot see how the current place of living should be entered there - if anything, then the place where you lived N days after birth, if you do progression for age of N years.

As a software developer, you might notice bugs, configuration problems, and customer service issues are more tenacious during VOC periods. That's been my experience! Of course, my experience of the Moon VOC periods may reflect my own natal chart. The astrological axiom applies: Your mileage may vary. Still, a very useful tool for daily consideration.

Alois adds: Void of course Moon is on our to-do list. The question is not its usefulness. A fact is that VOC Moon it is not commonly used in the German speaking countries, where our roots as an astrological computer service are.

The personal VOC is an interesting concept and new to me. As we list Moon transits, it would be sufficient to list Moon sign ingresses. Then it is easy to deduce that the time between your last Moon transit and a given Moon sign change is your personal VOC Moon period.

A synthesized report like Liz Greene's Relationship horoscope is not composed in such a way that each text section would be associated with a particular isolated horoscope factor. Therefore no such annotation is possible. This is different for more primitive, cookbook-style reports which do not synthesize.

The text of the Relationship Horoscope is completele free of astrological terminology. Its purpose is not to teach astrology, but to help understanding a relationship. This is difficult enough, without attempting to teach astrology at the same time.

By the way, the Relationship Horoscope is not based on the Composite alone. It uses synastry aspects between the two natal charts, and triggering effects between the composite and each natal chart, in addition to the composite.

Zu Ihrer Frage zum Mutterbild: Ich denke, Liz Greene könnte Ihnen in einer persönlichen Beratung etwas genaueres dazu erzählen. Das ist aber nicht Teil des Service, den Sie bei uns bestellt haben, und es ist schwierig, einen Termin bei ihr (in Zürich, in Englisch) zu bekommen - der Preis ist hingegen mit 400.- Fr. günstig für die vermutlich beste Astrologin der Welt.

Ansonsten ist natürlich auch die Lektüre von Liz Greene's Büchern lohnenswert, wobei ich nicht konkret angeben kann, wo sie etwas zum Thema Mutterbild sagt. Alois adds: Michael Keller of Bern, Switzerland used to be a customer of Astrodienst for many years, and he had his special requirements. Mr Keller ordered thousands of charts from us, and he was an active researcher in regard to history and to earthquakes. I have never met him, and he stopped ordering from us in 1994, maybe because he got his own computer. I have written to him and hope to get some more information, which I will place here in addition to this reply.

For midpoints in 45° sequence, a trick can be used: run the 2nd harmonic chart, use the 90°-order table in the extra data tables, and take 1/2 of each listed value. This is equivalent to a 45° listing.

This is as good as we can do - we do currently not touch this code to add new features. We just give away for free what we created years ago when this kind of calculation service was still a viable business and we had customers who paid for such printouts.

Is it ok to post an astro chart on our own website? If so, what is the proper credit, to say this chart is courtesy of Astro?

Alois adds: Thank you for the comment, Amy. Astrodienst and its key author Liz Greene have always been sensitive towards the issue of same-sex relationships. We took great care that our professional reports could be worded properly and had options for same-sex relationships. Gender dependence in language is minimal in English, but a complex issue in languages like French or Spanish.

It has been a "user interface" challenge to integrate this feature into the free horoscope area on our website WITHOUT having to ask each person on the natal data entry page about his/her sexual preferences. I think we have found an elegant solution to offer this choice for those who want to use it, without bothering everybody with indiscrete and very personal questions.

We are happy that our efforts are acknowledged. 'Dienst' means 'service' in German, and we really like to serve. By the way, the word is pronounced like 'deenst'.

You might subscribe to the 'extende date choice' on our daily horoscope, and then scan forward in time and check those dates which seem practical for you in regard to your and your woman's daily horoscope. Es gibt das Konzept der 'Regenten' in der Astrologie: Jedes Tierkreiszeichen hat einen Regenten, hier Herrscher genannt. Daneben gibt es die Wochentagsregenten, die Regenten für die Dekaden - Drittelstücke der Tierkreiszeichen, sowie diverse Systeme von Jahresregenten.

Das sind relativ alte astrologische Konzepte, mit denen ich nicht sonderlich vertraut bin. Vielleicht bringt Ihnen eine Google-Suche mit den genannten Begriffen mehr Information. In English heissen die Regenten 'ruler'.

But if you send an extra note with your order, and mention that Alois told you to do so, of the certificate, our staff can email you the certificate code and your friend can use it 12 hours later.

However, the report itself will never be emailed. Your friend will have to wait for the physical shipment. I presume you are aware of that.

We have daily more than 70'000 visitors on the website, and most of them run more than one chart. If our chart does not agree with the expectations of the visitor - for whatever reason - some are quick to assume that Astrodienst computes incorrectly. Of course this is untrue and a rather naïve assumption. Actually, Astrodienst is one of the worldwide authorities in the field of astrological computation.

The documentation of our planetary calculations and the complete source code is available on our website, under Swiss Ephemeris. Anyone with sufficient knowledge of astronomy can study these references, and compare them to other public references for astronomical calculation. Full agreement will be found, within fractions of arc-seconds.

We know that many falsely computed charts circulate in the world, because many astrologers are out there who have made errors. Most errors originate from incorrect data entry / data lookup, and from false timezone information.

While we understand that it is psychologically challenging to accept that a chart one considered correct for many years is suddenly recognized as false, we cannot help with that problem. What we can do is to make sure we apply the highest possible standards to our calculations. We cannot answer for errors made by others.

I do indeed speak from a position of authority, when the subject is astrological computation. If you find that position 'arrogant and condescending', I cannot change that.

I admit to a character fault: I have little patience for those who don't do their homework (e.g. look up a reference book) before they challenge an authority in a dispute about factual information.

A transit is the movement of a 'transiting' planet over a position marked by your 'natal' planet. The first listed is the transiting one, the second is your natal birth chart position. While the (current) Venus is moving over the place of your natal Mars, the (current) Mars is trining the place of your natal Venus.

The degree of the zodiac rising on the eastern horizon - the Ascendant - is a fact of nature. It can only be computed correctly or incorrectly, given a date, time and location. Astrodienst does it correctly.

In the average, the Ascendant changes every two hours, and planets move from one house to the next within two hours. The guestbook page itself contains also a warning to spammers on top. But you should be aware that in reality we have no power to prevent any such abuse.

Please understand that this has NOTHING to do with our registered user database. The problem is with the PUBLIC guestbook, not with our SECURE user database.

We have recently started to disguise published email addresses in the guestbook. While this will not prevent humans from recognizing the disguise and from using the email address, the disguise (with .xyz to the left and right of the *) might offer some protection against spam-robots who collect email addresses from the public pages on the Internet and place the addresses in spam mailing lists. The disguised email addresses will not work.

Please understand that Astrodienst has an active anti-spam policy. However, we do not know how one can publish an email address for the purpose of receiving mail, and prevent spammers from using it at the same time.

Spam filtering on your incoming mailbox is the best current choice. We hope for an international law to put heavy fines on spammers and on all those who support them by providing the technical infrastructure.

5 December 2002 until 30 December 2002: This is a time of extreme inner conflict, which can severely undermine your effectiveness with others. You will become extremely self- critical and uncertain about the ideals by which you structure your life, as well as about the structure itself.

You make very great demands upon yourself, and you feel you must live up to them. But they are very far removed from what you should realistically expect. You will almost certainly fail to live up to these ideals, so you will be acutely disappointed in yourself. Your self-condemnation is unjustified but very convincing at this time.

Guilt, remorse for alleged past sins, feelings of unfulfilled responsibilities, depression and self doubt are all characteristic of this time. But you must remember that everything seems worse than it really is. Sometimes you have an irrational sense of fear or apprehension, when your world seems to be populated by ghosts that haunt you. Illusion is indistinguishable from reality. Clearly this can be one of the most difficult of all influences.

Actually your ideas about the world are being changed, and the first step is a process of disintegration that leaves you feeling extremely disoriented.

If you can, it would be a good idea to go into some kind of retreat or at least try to minimize the demands of the everyday world for awhile. And as you simplify your life in this way, concentrate on the very concrete aspects of reality. Don't involve yourself in abstractions, for you can become lost in them. Deal with everything on a very mundane, practical level, until your sense of equilibrium begins to return. This is not a particularly good time to study the occult or psychic disciplines unless past study has given you a strong sense of proportion in these matters.

As you can see, its not a positive aspect, though like all I'm sure there is room for growth through it.

The actual aspect itself has been affecting my chart since August of this year, (when it was first exact), and will continue to do so until next May. I'm assuming the reason its listed again is because it will be in exact opposition again in December.

The reason I'm writing about this is because of how strongly it has been affecting my life. I don't normally feel the transits this strongly, and this one has been especially hard to deal with. I know it manifests itself differently for every person but have any of you experienced (or are experiencing) this transit recently??? If so, please share some experiences, and maybe how you dealed/are dealing with how its effecting your life.

I do not agree with your qualification of that reading as 'very negative'. I doubt that you have read it carefully - instead you apprently chose to 'freak out'. If you always do that in front of a challenge, you might have a problem.

Below is what Robert Hand has to say on this transit. Certainly this is a serious transit in your wife's chart. A strong relationship will come out of it strengthened.

Please remember that the text is written for the person who has this transit happening to her, not for the partner of that person. What you have done is a bit like reading another person's diary or mail. It is technically possible - nothing prevents you from entering another person's data into our system - but this kind of information gathering always comes with a price.

The large majority of the readers of the daily horoscope or the short report forecats are NOT astrologers. They would find technical deatils about signs, rulers and houses very confusing.

It is a frequent misconception to believe that www.astro.com is for astrologers. Its target is the general public, to offer serious astrology content.

Alois adds: As a "group", the mass distribution of the 50'000 numbered asteroids - nearly all of them in this asteroid belt you mention - is totally smeared out over the ecliptic circle. I don't see what the point would be to assign a meaning, as they cannot be located as a group, only as individuals. From a scientific viewpoint, one should be aware that the total mass of all asteroids except Ceres is only twice the mass of Ceres - considering only the traditional asteroid belt, not TNOs.

The free online chart readings have to be read precisely. You seem not to have done that - you fixed yourself one a single sentence out of the whole context.

In Astroclick Portrait, the text by Robert Hand about Saturn in House 2 reads like this - as usual Robert Hand expresses the relevant points in excellent writing:

You are quite cautious about spending money or any other resources, because you are afraid that there won't be enough. So you conserve and save wherever possible, in order to prevent an unexpected shortage of money or other resources. In some cases you may not have enough money, but it is more likely that you are motivated by fear of not having enough. On the positive side, this makes you a thrifty and careful planner in using money. But it can also make you overly cautious, so that you hold on to your money too tightly. And this kind of fear may set up vibrations in your world that attract situations in which you are actually deprived of money or possessions against your will.

You will work hard to get what you want, because for you that is a basic part of the value of anything. You do not respect or value anything that comes into your life too easily, so you work for it. You may envy people who seem to get what they want more easily than you do, but if you think about it, you will realize that you prefer it this way.

As an adult, you will have to watch out for a tendency to get so wrapped up in financial and property matters that they take over your life. Think of money and property as means to an end, not as ends in themselves.

I agree that the 'alternative interpretation' by Pelletier sounds worse - he is a less gifted writer with a rather literal style. I often wonder whether we should throw off the Pelletier material from our website, because I cannot really underwrite a lot of what he says. Pelletier is not always as bad to read as in the case of Saturn, though.

Pelletier's comment in Saturn in 2nd house reads like this:

Saturn is found in the 2nd house at the time of your birth. This is not a very favorable astrological circumstance for the general course of financial matters in your life.

It might be difficult to maintain a relatively fair position because of financial losses. You might also take financial matters too serious, and burden yourself with worries about them.

Your arduous and dedicated work might produce less for you than it would for someone else normally. However, do not be discouraged. Saturn often grants a fairly normal financial status at an older age if one exerts himself in this direction.

If you make an effort to acquire greater enthusiasm in business, coupled with more liberality, life will change by the same degree. [I have changed a few words to make him sound less harsh].

It is important for you and for all readers to understand: There is never a 'single and absolute truth' in any astrologial reading. Astrologers have their own more or less limited world view, and are more or less gifted to express themselves. In the best case, their writing can be inspiring. Maybe it's an idea to write down all important things that happen to you, with date, time and location. Then, with those information, you go to a good astrologer. Maybe he can see some kind of patron in it and find some aspect-lines. That might help to correct your birthdate and time. I hope this will help you.

Alois adds: If you simply send him a link to the chart, he will have access to all the data in your account. There are two easy ways to share the chart or reading, but to keep your other data secure:

a) in 'my astro', make sure you have a 'registered profile'. use View/Edit profile and activate the 'high security' option in your profile settings. Now, call up the chart or reading you want to share, and use your browser's file menu to send a link to this page to your friend. Our 'secure option' is constructed such a way that the recipient of this link will be able to view the same page without login, but he is not able to see any other data in your profile.

b) Alternatively, save the chart image as a GIF file on your local disk, using RIGHT mouse click, save image as ...
Give the image file a convenient name like 'friend_chart.gif' and send it as a normal email attachment. If it concerns a textual reading, copy/paste the text into an email message. This lets you mail the content without giving your profile access away.

Alois adds: Thanky for the kind feedback. Regarding your question: Imagine you have a serious transit, e.g. Saturn on the Aszendant. If on each day the most important transit would be posted, you would get the SAME reading for a large number of days.

It would be like a daily newpaper having the same frontpage headline each day for two months. How boring!

Our system tries to select a different transit every day, and to minimize repetition. It follows, that also issues of lower importance make it to the frontpage headline. This is why the 'long term influences' are listed.

Originally, the 'Personal Daily Horoscope' was created by Asrodienst not for online use, but in the form of the printed 'Personal Horoscope Calendar'. The Calendar covers 365 days and contains a half-page colum for each day with the reading of the day and the listing of other transits, plus an index to find on which date the reading for these other transits can be found.

We sell this calendar still very successfully, actually sales have increased since we publish the free daily horoscope online. The spiral-bound Horoscope Calendar is very convenient to use, and an excellent gift!

There is a link 'choose reference place' on the same page, and another such link below the drawing of the solar return chart, which allows you to select the location for which the solar return chart is computed.

We expect that our visitors are investigative and try out all options on the web pages themselves - the computer does not bite you if you click on a link or press a button, and it will also not break down. It is too early to use 'Quaoar' in chart readings, it is at this stage just an object of research. I don't like the name, but this name is not yet official by the IAU (International Astronomicla Union). Maybe we get a better one at the next full Moon.

Please understand that it is delivered 'just as it is'. A newspaper subscriber does not get influence over what he will find printed in the paper, and a daily horoscope subscriber cannot expect to get new programmed features added.

You are welcome to make suggestions, but please do not expect us to drop our other work to fulfil your wishes. The daily horoscope is already rather complex for its usual audience and we will not make it even more complex by adding specialist's astrological features.

A specialist's need in astrological computation will often be better served by purchasing a software package like Solar Fire or Kepler. The services of www.astro.com are targeted at at a wider audience with a 'mainstream' interest in astrology, and at our high quality reports.

Wenn jedoch in einem Horoskop schwierige Themen oder schwierige Zeiten angezeigt sind, so wird das auch nicht unbedingt in Zuckerwatte verpackt. Da es sich um tiefenpsychologische Inhalte handelt, kann das Lesen dem Einzelnen tatsächlich 'Bauchweh' machen. Die persönliche Empfindlichkeit ist von Mensch zu Mensch sehr verschieden, es ist sehr schwierig, es allen recht zu machen. Erst letzten Monat hatten wir hier ein sehr kritisches Feedback mit dem Vorwurf, alles nur 'sugar coated' zu präsentieren, also mit Zuckerguss drüber. Dort hätte die Schreiberin das Horoskop gern als Waffe gegen ihren Partner eingesetzt, aber auch die kritischen Punkte, die angesprochen wurden, waren zu freundlich formuliert.

Das Jahreshoroskop kann in Jahren, in denen gehäuft schwierige Transite und Progressionen auftreten, tatsächlich schwer zu schaffen machen. Verbrennen war vermutlich eine übertriebene Reaktion - vor allem eine irreversible. Zur Seite legen und später nochmals anschauen wäre vielleicht klüger gewesen.

Ich möchte Ihnen raten, es einmal mit dem grundlegenden Persönlichkeitshoroskop von Liz Greene zu versuchen, dem 'Psychologischen Horoskop'. Ich denke, damit werden Sie bessere Erfahrungen machen.

Alois adds: You are correct: the transit descriptions in the report 'Transits of the year' are nearly identical to those in the book 'Planets in Transit'. In fact, Robert Hand wrote those descriptions for usage in our computerized reports, and the publication of the same material as a book was an afterthought.

Astrodienst does not hide this fact in any way. The description of 'Transits of the Year' contains a link 'read a sample report', where you can read a complete sample. If you are familiar with Hand's book, you will immediately notice the overlap in content. The appendix of the report - and the sample report - states:
Further reading: "Planets in Transit", by Robert Hand. This book provided the text basis for "Transits of the Year".

Astrologers, who know how to compute the timing of the various transits, and who know which transits are more and which are less important, can use the book and do not need to order an individual report.

Other people, who would never look into a specialist astrology textbook, or who do not know what a transit is and how to determine its occurence and timing, or those who do not know how to separate the important transits from the less important ones, will profit greatly from ordering the personalized report. Its special strength is the selection of relevant themes. In the selection process, a lot of particular information about a person's chart is considered, to help decide whether a particular transit should be presented or not, and with which priority.

Astrodienst has certainly not been trying to cheat you. You seem however not to have studied the easily available information about our report before ordering it. I do not accept that this should be our fault. If you are an expert in astrological interpretation yourself, you might prefer not to order computerized reports ever. You might be disappointed again, as you will either find them trivial, or different from your own strong opinions, or otherwise produced in a way which you consider false. If you are a first class cook, you have to be careful with 'eating out', as you might get disappointed.

About the question whether the services of Astrodienst are 'professional' or not, I do not think that we need to start a discussion. Everyone is welcome to have his/her own opinion. We are happy that probably 99% of our website visitors and customers consider us professional. A 100% yes vote from a large population is a rare thing, it only happens in Iraq.

On some unprotected computers like Windows 98 it is possible that another person has used your computer, visited www.astro.com and entered data, and now you see those when you visit.

Presumable that user of your computer entered YOUR data, with a slightly off birth time and a different name.

The data are ONLY visible on YOUR personal computer, nobody else in the world sees them. There is no magic yet involved.

Alice Bailey's work is not new. She was part of the early British Theosophical movement and her work needs to be seen in the social and historical context of early 20th century Britain. I do not find much useful in "Esoteric Astrology", and I have never been especially impressed with Bailey's rather smug tone of spiritual superiority and thinly disguised bigotry. But that was typical of the period.

The only part which I have ever found interesting in this book is the so-called "esoteric rulers" of the signs, which gives a different group of planetary rulers from the traditional ones. If these are seen, not as actual rulers, but as subtle dimensions of the signs, they are useful; e.g. Bailey gives Mercury as the "esoteric ruler" of Aries, and there is certainly a powerful intellectual dimension in Aries as well as the traditional fiery, impulsive, physical side of the sign. She also gives Venus as the "esoteric ruler" of Gemini, which reflects the strong aesthetic and artistic element in many Geminis. And so on.

Trying to fully comprehend this volume requires more than a degree in rocket science. But like anything else in life, it's worth trying, to see what might be relevant or useful to the individual reader. You never know.

Alternatively, you might want to subscribe to 'Extended date choice' in the Daily Horoscope, so that you can navigate up to one year ahead of the current date, and three years back into the past.

You can easily fix it: use view/edit profile, set the 'high security' option, and change the password.

Alois adds: We do not delete client's data in our web server database. It is fully under control of the individual user, to add or delete data from his/her profile, or to remove the entire profile.

If yours was juts an anonymous 'guest profile', access to it depended on the presence of a cookie in your browser, or from having made a bookmark. If you deleted cookies or bookmarks, your access to an anonymous guest profile will be lost, even when the data are still on the server, as there will be no way to find them.

If your intended 'professional astrology service' is computer based, you will need to purchase software for it. Such software will have its own atlas and timezone database builtin in for your use. You will however be allowed to use our atlas database for crosschecks.

I have certain reservations in regard to nearly all 'financial astrologers' I have met so far: they were all poor. I would be reluctant to bet my money on the advice of such experts.

Alois adds: The answer is simple: we do not deal with 'should be'. We KNOW how to compute CORRECTLY.

For any further information on the subject of correct astrological computation, please study the documents in the Swiss Ephemeris area and the source code for ascendant calculation which you find there.

You can also solve the problem by actual observation. Please get yourself a pair of binoculars and a star map. Find two bright stars in the constellation of Aries (which corresponds to the tropical zodiac sign Pisces), as close to the ecliptic as possible, and determine their coordinate difference in ecliptic longitude. Then watch them rise in the east, and determine the difference in rising time (on a flat horizon profile). Now extrapolate from that to a longitude difference of 30 degrees. The rising time difference between 0° Pisces and 0° Aries is about 63m34s in Vancouver, WA.

Later: A reader pointed out that my reply was for the city of Vancouver, Washington USA, while the question was for Vancouver, Canada. Of course, vancouver, canada is further north, and the rising time of Pisces gets even shorter at higher latitudes. It is - according to Tomasz Stramel trustworthy calculation - 57m06s.

It seems that you have used www.astro.com only as a non-registered guest user. Your anonymous guest account was identified via a cookie sored on your computer. If you have deleted your cookies in your browser settings, you have wiped out the connection to your data. There is no way to recover that connection. The data are still on the server, but if you lost your cookie, noone can access them, not even myself.

Das (nicht kostenlose) Horoskop 'Beruf und Berufung' von Liz Greene leistet für die (Neu-)Orientierung im Berufsleben sehr gute Dienste; es ist aber nicht spezifisch für die Berufswahlsituation von Jugendlichen geschrieben.

I have deleted the article and hope you won't try again. You also have violated the author's copyright. You should read the extremely sharp copyright note on the website from where you took the article without permission.

Content-wise, I find that Rajneesh/Osho is talking a lot, as usual, as he was obviously in love with hearing himself talk. I do not deny that he is entertaining. However, his perspective on astrology seems to be outdated and bound to an Indian view of astrology, which has very little to do with a modern western view.

This becomes obvious in sentences like this one: "The average man's curiosity regarding astrology is just to know whether his daughter will get married or not." Only someone with an Indian view of astrology can say something like that. In his articles, Rajneesh is constructing an outdated Hindu-style idea of astrology, which he is then deconstructing. This is what he has been doing with many subjects, in an entertaining way. It may be interesting for an Indian audience, but not so much for us.

Alois adds: I do not agree about the relevance of declination for "any astrological endeavour". However, as ecliptic latitude is included it will be trivial for an obvious expert like you to deduce declination from the pair of ecliptic longitude and latitude.

it would also be easy to use the 'swetest' utility whose usage for the creation of our published Quaor ephemeris is documented, and add the output flag for declination yourself. You can do this with the downloaded swetest.exe or with the online version at Swiss Ephemeris test page.

Alois adds: Of course your natal Moon is in Scorpio. Look at your natal chart drawing to verify. If you have seen a Leo Moon, you must have entered erroneous birth data, e.g. 12 December 1984. On that date, the Moon was in Leo.

Some Americans may have a slight difficulty with the fact that on our data entry form, the day of the month has to be entered in front of the month - but confusion is minimal, as the month is always given as a word, never as a number.

Alois adds: Selbstverständlich stimmt unsere Berechnung. Von Mistelbach, Österreich, aus gesehen ging am 13.12.1999 um 14.56 der Ekliptikgrad 5° Zwillinge am Osthorizont auf (gemessen im ekliptischen Koordinatensystem, relativ zu 'true equinox of date'). Das ist der Aszendent Ihres Sohnes. Es ist ein objektiver astronomischer Sachverhalt, zu dem es keine unterschiedlichen 'Meinungen' geben kann.

Die einzige Ausnahme: Wenn Sie einen Hindu-Astrologen fragen würden, der einen der dort üblichen, gegenüber den Jahreszeit verschobenen Fixstern-Tierkreis verwendet, so würde der vom Aszendent 11° Stier sprechen (Lahiri Ayanamsa). Der Hindu-Astrologe nimmt nicht die abendländische Einteilung der Sonnenbahn in Sternzeichen gemessen vom Frühlingspunkt aus, sondern eine Art verzerrter Fixsternbilder als Masstab der Positionsangabe. Er nimmt allerdings auch nicht die echten Fixsternbilder, den die sind nicht jedes 30 Grad gross, sondern ganz verschieden - je nachdem wie man sie sich denkt. Im Westen ist die Verwendung des Fixstern-Tierkreises in der Astrologie unüblich. Wir verwenden das normale astronomische Koordinatensystem, siehe oben.

Unter Gratishoroskope->Erweiterte Grafikauswahl finden Sie auf unserer Website aber auch die Möglichkeit, Horoskopzeichnungen mit Hindu-Tierkreiseinteilung zu machen. Sie müssen die Tierkreis Einstellung ändern, dort wo steht:
Tierkreis (Auswahl nur ändern wenn Sie Experte sind), und entweder 'Fagan/Bradley' oder 'Hinud/Lahiri' auswählen.

Alois adds: You are of course wrong. You say 'there is no way'. There is exactly one way in which Pluto moves, and this is on its orbital path. Please visit Homepage->[left column] Swiss Ephemeris -> Ful documentation if you want to get an idea about the degree of Astrodienst's computational and astronomical competence.

Please do your homework first before you make such claims. I dislike unqualified and unbased accusations of computational errors.

Even a lay person should know that Pluto's orbit is higly excentric, and it moves much faster in the signs where it is closer to the Sun than in the far part of its orbital ellipse. You can check any printed ephemeris of the 20th century to find about the speed of Pluto in various signs. It takes 31-32 years to move through Taurus, but only 12 years to move through Libra or Scorpio.

Find here a list of sign ingresses of Pluto from 1200 to 2200, which I just computed for you. Dates marked with 'j' are Julian calendar. Times are UT/GMT.

Alois adds: The apostroph ' marks in that table are admittedly a bit obscure. They mark those aspects with have more then 50% of the maximum natal orb. Synastry charts double the number of possible aspects, as the number of possible planetary combinations is about twice as large as in a natal chart. It makes sense to consider first only those aspects with a narrow orb, i.e. without the ' mark. The chart drawing contains only those aspects.

Ths Sun moved though your (natal) 9th house, approximately with 1 degree per day. It approaches the MC, and when we give this transit an orbis of 1 degree to each side, this is exactly the timing what you get above. The MC is the end of house 9 and begin of house 10. One side is house 9, the other is house 10. The Sun moves in the direction of the zodiac, from 9 to 10, in transit over natal. We are NOT discussing its daily path on the sky, but its path through the natal chart.

Alois adds: First of all, astrology is pragmatic, i.e. it uses what is avaiable. Birth dates and times are observable quantities and traditionally well documented. Conception dates and times are mostly unknown, except in special cases.

Second, the existence of a person as an 'individual' is more related to birth than to conception. The fate of a fertilized egg cell is still quite uncertain, and it does not yet constitute a person at that stage. Only a potential person. Each unfertilized egg cell, each sperm cell, actually each cell of the body constitutes a potential person to some extent as well, particularily in the age of cloning.

But this second argument may just be a rationalisation for the first one. It is certainly justified to make a conception chart if the moment of conception is well known, as in the case of in vitro fertilization.

Some astrologers use 'prenatal charts' or 'karmic charts' which have little to do with the (usually unknown) moment of conception. They create these 'prenatal' charts by some technical manipulation, e.g. the swapping of some birth chart factors. You should consult the work of individual astrologers who use such concepts to learn more.

Alois adds: You got it right. We wanted to add a reflective, meditative element to the more or less factual and rational information in the text of the daily horoscope.

One of our developers had an artist friend - she is Dr Gera Maier Kren, professor for history of art in Munich - who he knew loved to do small format pen-and-ink drawings and collages. We commissioned this artist to create about 600 drawings for us. The original drawings were about 14 x 10 cm, in black and grey. We scanned and dithered the drawings for reproduction with black/white laser printers. The output medium was paper, the Personal Horoscope Calendar. This was before we had the website. For the later usage on the web, we added an artificial colour tone.

Our developer made the assiciations, i.e. for each transit reading in the daily horoscope a list of drawings was selected which had some associative connection with the reading. Our computer selects the images from this short list of drawings for each transit, making sure that within the same year for the same person there are as few repetitions as possible.

The so called 'true black moon' is a rather questionable thing. Please, visit the Swiss Ephemeris area and read the documentation there to understand why: Full documentation, section 2.2.3 The Osculating Apogee (so-called 'True Lilith' or 'True Dark Moon').

If afterwards you still think you want its position, please use the Swiss Ephemeris test page and use planet selection -p: a
You will find the 'true black moon' listed as 'osc. Apogee'. We dislike to use the word 'true' in this connection and use the astronomically more appropriate term 'osculating'.

The transits of 'black Moon' are not in the daily horoscope because our authors did not write text for them. Outside France this horoscope factor is much less popular than in your country.

Astrology, as we practice it, is concerned only with the Solar system and its planets (our close cosmic home), not with fixed stars.

regarding your ideas of the universe: there is no center in 3-dimensional space, as far as we know. Imagine a balloon which you inflate. No point on the surface of the spherical balloon is closer to the center than any other. The center from which inflation started is not in the same dimension as the surface of the balloon which we perceive. This is just an example for a two-dimensional surface curved in a third dimension. The universe of course has spatial character, curved in a higher dimension, but the example still applies.

If you want to buy one of our reports, but don't want to do it 'online', you can use our AstroShop, but stop before the final order confirmation, print the 'cart page' out and mail it to us, including a cheque. Then we will send the reports by mail order, as we do for all reports - our reports are always delivered physically as booklets in the mail, not electronically online.

There is however no logical reason not to follow through with the online order. All address and payment data you transmit are safely encrypted and not readable by anyone on the Internet, except on our end where they are decrypted. As I said, delivery of the reports will always be by mail, not online.

Please visit the Astro-Shop section and there the information pages of the various 'future related' reports to understand more details. You may also read some of the complete online samples we provide, to learn what kind of information you would receive if you order such a report. It is more about issues which come up, about the psychological atmosphere you find yourself in than about events which happen.

I was just wondering if you have any opinion as to the relative validity of Davison relationship charts versus that of composite charts, since the reports I ordered included one of each for the same relationship, and both the charts and the corresponding reports differ in key ways. Liz Greene's report on the composite chart seemed to give a very true description of the relationship, while the report on the Davison chart was stunningly accurate in one key area, but in other areas less so. I'm wondering if Davison charts are less reliable than composite charts, and if the one comment that was truly valid in the Davison report was a coincidence. Sometimes composite and relationship charts are virtually identical, but when they do differ, as they do here, do you have any opinion as to which one should go with?

Alois adds: Dear Pam, the partner reports you mention are by different authors using different technique and different style of reading a chart. Imagine for example two books about life in Manhattan, from two different authors with different background, age and style. Both will - hopefully - have to say something relevant about life in Manhattan, but it will probably be very different.

I know, this is not a very good example.

In my personal opinion, none of our three relationship-oriented reports is perfect. The reason is that the field is REALLY DIFFICULT. It is much easier to write a sensible character portrait, or career portrait, about a single person, than a portrait of a relationship. The variations broght in by two people and their complex possibilities of interaction are just too complex.

Still, most readers find our reports very helpful, judging from the feedback we get. If I had only to choose one, and it was for a longer love relationship which has actually been experienced, I would clearly vote for Liz Greene. If it was for a flirt, a work or business relationship, or a parent-child relationship, I would choose the 'Horoscope for Two' by Mona Riegger.

Alois adds: Many such patterns are a matter of personal taste. Some astrologers use mathematical points like Ascendant or Lunar Nodes for aspect figures, others use only real planets.

I would like to comment astrodienst as the best website i've ever been to so far. I come everyday and the daily readings are accurate up to 90 percent of the time. It makes me quite depressed some times that my life is so easily influenced by astrological patterns. It seems that there is nothing i can do about my life. What do you advise?

About the fact that you are worried of finding yourself predetermined: I recommend to stay away from daily horoscopes for a month or two. They may be unhealthy for your psychological balance. Try to go without astrology for a while. Be assured that you can do something about your life. Get onto your feet and walk. If you don't do it already, take up jogging, at least three times a week, 45 minutes minimum each time. The ideas will come.

I found this site several months ago and I recomend it to all my astrologically inclined friends. Thank you Astrodienst for providing such a comprehensive, insightful astrology service. Now when things go unexpectedly, I can often find the astrological reason for this and not be left thinking...Now why is this happening?...as well as being able to be aware of influences that may result in turmoil.

Contrary to the free services and to the 'extended daily horoscope', the PDF charts from subscriber profiles may be redistributed commercially.

I am afraid there is a misunderstanding of the purpose of our extended chart service. We have make public what we HAVE, an extended collection of various charting techniques which we developed in the 1980ies, when Astrodienst was a chart service for astrologers, before we turned to make a living from astrological interpretations. The techniques reflect what was in demand in Germany at this time, and the chart styles are strictly European. For the needs of Europeans, which use far less technical variants than US astrologers, our service is very complete. For those with more needs, the number of quality astrology programs in German is higher than in the US, and the developer scene is even more active.

We do not develop new versions of chart drawings or calculation techniques. The cost of software development, compared to the possible revenue from such new services, is prohibitive. We concentrate on extending our interpretation services - free and paid - to a wide audience instead of addressing a minority of technically oriented astrologers.

We have no intention to replace full-featured astrology software like Solar Fire or Kepler by our free online services. As for the Mac, you might want to consider a layer of Windows emulator on top of the Mac OS, to be able to run Windows software. I presume the market for astrological software developers is to narrow to allow investment into Mac software with its small market share. This is why there are so view developers for Mac software.

Please do not understand this as support for Microsoft and its policy of strangling the competition. I don't like or use their stuff, I work strictly on Linux only, even at my home desktop. The only software I write and support for Windows is the PAIR software which our license partners use to produce our reports in their shops.

For point 2) please try the 'additional data tables' of chart styles Ebertin, Keller and Studer. There are no midpoint trees, but extended midpoint tables.

Point 3) is impossible to meet: the user interface for individual orb settings is far too complex on a web service, not worth the effort. Again, please use local Mac/PC software for your power-user needs.

Alois adds: Most likely your "brand" software is wrong. On 7-mar-1975 there was DST in the state of Washington. 1974 and 75 were special years - oil crisis and unusually early start of DST. In 1975, it started on 23-feb, in 1974 on 6-jan.

If the birth certificate does not mention a timezone, it is wristwatch time.

Es kann aber sein, dass Deine Beobachtungen subjektiv für Dich selbst lange Zeit funktionieren: Alle Frauen, die Du antriffst und die diesen Aspekt haben, haben Beziehungen mit Männern von 'jenseits des Wassers'.

Oft verschwinden solche Effekte aber, wenn man sie unter dem kühlen Licht der 'objektiven Forschung' betrachtet. Das geht nicht nur mit astrologischen Regeln so, sondern mit vielen anderen Dingen, die um uns Menschen herum immer wieder beobachtet werden. Sie sind in unserer Erfahrung wahr und wirklich, aber 'wissenschaftlich' (noch) nicht nachweisbar.

Alois adds: The reference was to Pallas, not to Chiron. While Chiron is used in many of our reports and online charts, Pallas is not.

Chiron is not a common member of the asteroid belt, which contains tens of thousands of asteroids, while Pallas is.

Currently, we have 48'380 officially numbered and 9800 officially named asteroids in our asteroid database. There are - in the average - 133 numbered asteroids, or 27 named asteroids in each degree of the zodiac at any given moment. The really progressive astrologer might want to use them all...

I consider 'precession correction' in tropical astrology to be illogical and wrong. Tropical astrology uses a frame of reference which moves with the rhythm of the Sun-Earth-Moon system. The technique of 'precession correction' breaks this system by trying to introduce a notion of 'natal birth marks in absolute space'. This is false on several levels. The reference frame it introduces is not absolute, it translates and rotates with the (fast) movement of the solar system within the galaxis.
