You are quite secure in them, for you know how and what you think about most things. This is not a time of change but of preparing to use your mind. Consequently it is an excellent time for any task requiring mental discipline and hard work, such as study, schooling or learning any new mental discipline. It is not a very good time for activities requiring great inspiration, intuitive insight and creativity. You will get results through hard work and scholarly methods, not through "divinely" inspired insight.

This influence favors planning and organization of various aspects of your life. You have a definite sense of order in mind, which you can make manifest in your life. This is a good time to put your ideas into practice on the material level and to carry out long-standing plans. If you have planned a project, this is a good time to do it.

With this influence there is a danger that you will let your ideas and opinions become too rigid. It is important that your ideas acquire definite form and stability at this time, because in the future they will be challenged very strongly. You must be reasonably definite and sure of yourself in order to withstand the challenges. But rigidity will only make those times worse, because your thinking will have to be flexible, no matter how certain you are now that you are right.

Saturn square Venus: A sense of tension

Mid-December 2012 until end of September 2013: This is a time of considerable tension and difficulty in your relationships. Love relationships often cool off and may even break up altogether during this time. You may discover that a love affair wasn't what you thought it was, a rude awakening after a period of lovely illusions. Or you may suddenly lose interest in a relationship that had seemed perfectly viable up until now. Of course, the other person may be the one who leaves you.

Aside from love relationships, there is a sense of tension and a feeling that it is somehow more difficult to relate to people. You may feel that any sort of relationship exists at the cost of your freedom and sense of individuality. Relationships seem to be more trouble than they are worth.

Another effect of this influence may be that "circumstances beyond your control" seem to get in the way of an existing relationship and force it to break up, even though neither of you wants this to happen. But this is almost never what is really happening. Usually one of you has a conscious or unconscious need to withdraw from the relationship, and you subtly maneuver circumstances to make it break up. Or you may be testing the relationship to see how much it can take. A good one will survive and be stronger.

Every relationship must be an honest expression of yourself. But we often get into relationships that have little to do with our true selves, usually because of fear, a need for security, or a sense of personal inadequacy. Relationships sometimes simply outlive their time, and these are the ones that will suffer and perhaps die now. They are at cross purposes to your pursuit of life and self-expression.

Loneliness is a problem at this time, because your need for relationships and your need to be yourself are equally great. Instead of working harmoniously, as they should, they are in conflict. But consciously or unconsciously, the need to be yourself is the greater at this time.

Jupiter square Neptune: False optimism

From 1 June 2013 until 10 June 2013: At this time you will work very hard to actualize your ideals and find a concrete way to put your spiritual views into practice in the real world. But you can expect the real world to put up some resistance to your ideas. Among other things, you will be challenged to demonstrate that your ideals are not just irrelevant, impractical abstractions. You will also have to demonstrate that your views are based on realism rather than some dream world, which is where you may very well be now. At any rate, this time will give you the opportunity to find out.

You will give readily when called upon now, because this influence signifies a great generosity to people who are less fortunate than yourself. But you may not be very discreet in choosing the people on whom you lavish your charity. Some people can be helped, and it would be worthwhile to spend your time on them. But others are not worth wasting time on, although with this influence you may not be able to tell the difference.

On another level, this influence can signify the kind of false optimism that makes you take foolish risks, especially with limited resources. In any financial dealings be very careful that everything is exactly as represented to you by others. Otherwise you could be taken for a ride.

This time is a test of your grasp of reality and your ability to translate ideals into practice. There is no reason to assume that you will not pass the test, but you do have to be careful.

Religious or spiritual delusions are another danger of this influence. You may be tempted to run after false messiahs or teachers whose ability to dazzle with spiritual phrases exceeds their ability to teach you how to cope with your life.

This reveals itself as foresight and long-range planning ability. This is a good time to map out your future, because you can understand and interrelate all the elements that will affect your life.

At the same time, you feel optimistic and proceed with the belief that everything will come out exactly as you want it to. And it probably will, because you don't get completely carried away with grandiose thinking. This influence usually indicates a good balance between details and generality in your thinking, but there is also a tendency to deemphasize the details and not pay adequate attention to them. If you are not careful, this can result in sloppy or hasty thinking. Be sure to slow down somewhat and do not get carried away with your plans. Otherwise, this is an excellent time to make decisions or to conclude any kind of transaction. It is a superb time to buy or sell, because you will almost certainly be satisfied with the deal.

As your mind tries to expand, you will want to learn more and more. This is a good time for returning to school, but even on a less formal level you will be anxious to learn. You may even travel long distances with this aim in mind. Any dealings with the law should prove to be quite fortunate for you now. You will prepare for such a confrontation skillfully, leaving no loose ends to trip you up.

Communications with others are exceedingly fortunate under this influence. Your optimism and positive state of mind bring you good news from others concerning matters of importance. At the same time, everything that you say to others is very positive and reinforcing, which leaves good feelings behind you wherever you go.

Mid-September 2013 until mid-May 2014: Traditionally this is considered one of the most marvelous influences, and indeed it is quite good. At the very least, you will feel good at this time. Your health is good, and you feel very optimistic. For a while it may seem that everything is working out perfectly, and if you make an effort, it will. But if you simply sit back and enjoy this time, its beneficent influence will pass away with little to show for it afterward.

This is the beginning of a new twelve-year cycle of growth in your life. It is a time to initiate new projects and expand your activities so that you can experience life from a broader perspective. You may find that you can escape from some narrowing and inhibiting circumstance that has prevented you from realizing your full potential as a human being. Sometimes people travel under this configuration, but usually the traveling is more in the mind.

This is a good time to study a subject that raises your consciousness or expands your view of the world, and it is an excellent time for going back to school. You may also meet new people who expose you to aspects of life that you have never known before. Your freedom will certainly increase.

Even with this influence there are some pitfalls. First of all, your exuberant optimism can cause you to overdo or overreach yourself, so that when this time is over, you find yourself out on the proverbial limb.
