Saturn conjunction Neptune: Involuntary detachment

Mid-December 2012 until end of September 2013: During this time you may have to contend with negative moods that can be quite upsetting. This influence often results in confusion, self- doubt, uncertainty and a general tendency to look at life from the worst possible point of view. At its worst, it can make you completely uncertain about what is real in your life, resulting in a sense of fear and free-floating anxiety. However, it is important to remember that this influence usually makes things appear worse than they actually are.

Your confidence and sense of well-being are at a low at this time, and you should not take your own gloomy evaluations too seriously. You seem to be aware of only those facets of life that you are afraid of and totally unaware of those things that can comfort and reinforce you.

Strange as it may seem, there is a constructive side to this period, although most people usually experience the negative side. But if you are very well attuned to your inner needs and secure enough not to be led astray by illusions, even fearful ones, then this influence can give you the ability to make extraordinary self-sacrifices. One effect of this period is to detach you from the material universe. In that case you may become disoriented and afraid, as described already, or you may find that the demands of the material universe no longer concern you particularly, and you can sacrifice your material needs to spiritual needs.

Either way, your perception of reality at this time is quite different from what it normally is, which you should take into consideration when making any plans for the future.

Jupiter opposition Jupiter: A little care and restraint

From 22 June 2013 until 1 July 2013: Under this influence you are likely to feel quite good, with enough confidence to handle just about anything. It is a period in your life when you feel optimistic and as though you can do whatever you want. However, you may be somewhat overconfident, so be careful not to take on more than you can handle.

At this point, several time-consuming projects may be coming to a head at once. This could be either quite advantageous or quite difficult, depending upon how well you have estimated your capacities in the past. What is happening now may be more than you can deal with, so you may have to cut back a bit.

This can also be a time of restlessness, for you feel that your everyday world is simply not "big" enough or does not provide enough experience for you. If you feel this way, you need to enlarge your scope of activity somewhat, but again be careful not to overreach.

You may have given others the impression that you are overambitious or that you want too much (in their terms, at least), and they may try to prevent you from getting any further. If this happens, all you can do is confront them directly and try to reassure them that you are not after their position (unless, of course, you are). Because of this possibility, you must be somewhat compromising.

However, none of this is necessary. With a little care and restraint, you can convert this into an excellent time that will produce considerable good, especially in financial matters. This influence can make you either extremely extravagant or extremely successful in such matters, depending upon your natural bent.

Jupiter trine Sun: A sense of humor

From 5 July 2013 until 14 July 2013: This is such a pleasant influence that you may be inclined to sit back, enjoy it and do nothing. However, this is really a very important time in your life because you can reach out into new areas of life and have new and rewarding experiences. Your creative potential is enormous at this time, and you can very easily accomplish a great deal that would be difficult at other times. Your inner energies are strong, and you are full of self-confidence and the feeling that you can do anything.

This influence usually indicates good health and a feeling of well-being, although you may be inclined to put on weight if you are not careful. You may not feel inclined toward physical activity, but it would be a good idea to get some exercise. Make a particular effort to be outdoors. Hiking is a very beneficial activity at this time.

If you are inclined to physical activity, especially athletics, don't take foolish risks through overconfidence. This influence tends to make you overestimate your energies.

This is an excellent time for all financial matters. You will feel like making your surroundings appear more elegant, and you may spend quite a lot of money doing so. This is perfectly fine, and you should think positively in all ways, but don't let this concern with material acquisition blind you to some very real possibilities for inner growth.

Travel, either physically or mentally, often accompanies this influence. Take this time to broaden your understanding of the world around you. You have a strong interest in ideas that are different from what you normally know and encounter, and you are much more tolerant of different ways of living. Even people's usually irritating traits do not bother you at this time. Also your sense of humor is much greater than usual, and you can appreciate the dance of life in all its glory.

Jupiter opposition Saturn: Danger of misjudgment

End of August 2013 until end of April 2014: With this influence it is very difficult to know exactly which direction the trends in your life are taking. Thus you must be extremely careful in your guesses, because of the danger of misjudgment.

Decisions in general are difficult during this time because you are caught in a conflict between caution and optimism. Whenever one attitude gets the upper hand in your mind, the other comes along and undermines it. Often it seems very difficult to know whether to expand or retrench. This problem will be especially bad if you have overextended yourself in the past and had to cut back. This creates a lack of self-confidence, which may surface now.

You may also experience a conflict at this time between the desire for greater freedom and opportunity and the desire to hold on to the safe and predictable circumstances that you are used to. Often the temptation is to break away from everything and start over without the weight of the past holding you back, so you think. The restlessness resulting from this conflict can cause you to make many significant changes in your life, especially about your career. Relationships are also frequently difficult, especially those that involve much responsibility. Casual relationships and friendships are less likely to suffer.

However, if you are basically satisfied with your life and you don't feel that your duties and obligations are onerous, you should experience the positive side of this influence, which is actually quite considerable. This is a time when you can expand the structures in your life to include much more than ever before. For example, you could safely expand a business, because your cautiousness during this time will probably prevent you from overextending yourself. Or you could take on more responsibilities, which would make your work more satisfying.

Jupiter conjunction Mars: An exuberant time

End of August 2013 until beginning of May 2014: This is a very exuberant time, with high energies. You feel physically strong and fit, and you are more willing to be active and take chances than at other times. Vigorous physical activity is one of the best ways to use this energy, which strengthens your body and allows you to accomplish more than usual.

Almost anything that you direct your energies to, especially an activity that requires a lot of energy, will seem to flow and happen as if you were not making any effort at all. It is important to realize, however, that you are in fact working quite hard; after this period, and even during it to some extent, you will need to stop a while and rest. One of the problems at this time is that because you don't realize how hard your body and mind are working, there is a real danger that you will overwork yourself. Certainly, if you are not in excellent physical condition you should not take up heavy physical work without preparing for it, but that is just what you might do with this influence.

This is a good time to begin a new project, as long as you don't overextend yourself. You have much more initiative than usual, and you can accomplish a great deal by yourself. Working with others may be frustrating, because it is hard for you to put up with their slower pace.

Often this influence is expressed through doing something that requires a magnificent sense of timing or planning. Or you will do something that works out very well for you in the long run. Even if it doesn't require great energy, it will pay great dividends in the future.

Jupiter square Ascendant: On the lookout

Mid-September 2013 until mid-May 2014: This is usually an excellent time for most kinds of relationships, but there are some pitfalls. Basically this influence signifies a desire to grow and advance through contacts with others. Probably you are willing to give as much as you get, although in some people this influence triggers a desire for advantages through others without giving anything in return. In fact as they get ahead, such people act arrogantly toward everyone, even those who helped them. This causes others to reject them, and when they hit hard times there is no one to help them out.

But this result is totally unnecessary, and all you have to do to avoid it is to keep a sense of humility and recognize what others have done for you. With this influence you have the potential to become a truly better person, but only if you keep these warnings in mind.

Quite frequently this influence brings a seemingly "lucky" chance through a friend or associate. But it is not luck so much as the fact that you are very sharply on the lookout for opportunities that can benefit you. Your sense of timing is very acute, and your sensitivity to others and their needs is greater than usual. That is one reason why it is so bad to ignore others' needs, because you don't even have the excuse of ignorance.

Benefits can come to you in either your personal and domestic life or in your work. There may be an opportunity to make money or to make improvements in your home that will make it much more pleasant. Or you may meet people who will help you learn more about the world and expand your view of it in various ways. You have to be willing to let this happen, however, which means you must be receptive. This is another area in which being arrogant brings the risk that you will get nothing of lasting value out of this period.
