Saturn square Jupiter: A current challenge

Mid-November 2012 until end of August 2013: During this time your opportunities may be curtailed and your freedom of action may be quite limited. Restrictions seem to come from nowhere, and you may have to work very hard just to maintain your accustomed level, let alone improve it. This period can be quite unfavorable financially, especially if you have not been very careful in recent years. It tests how well you have put your life together in almost every area, but especially in matters related to finances, business and your profession. You may discover that many aspects of your life cannot withstand real adversity.

Approximately seven years ago, many new activities began in your life. Now they are being tested to see whether they have any real importance in your life. Anything that does not withstand this test should be abandoned or substantially changed. It will be possible to hold on to something that clearly does not work, in spite of opposition from others and restrictions from your surroundings. And if you do that, after this time, it may appear to be working out all right. But that is only because the current challenge is over. However, in about seven years anything you have clung to will be tested again and will cause far more trouble than it does now. In other words, if something isn't working now, let it go!

Typically this influence produces extreme restlessness. Your drive for freedom is relentlessly curbed by the restrictions of this influence, and you feel very strongly that you must break out of these restrictions. You may experience job or residence changes or the breakup of personal relationships that seem to interfere unduly with your freedom. However these changes are usually just hasty reactions to this influence. You would be much better off to calmly evaluate what is and isn't working in your life and to consciously eliminate the elements that do not work. Don't just react blindly because of frustration.

Neptune trine Sun: An idealistic time

Mid-March 2013 until mid-January 2015: This influence will alter your attitude toward the world tremendously. If you have always been a materialist, you will find that spiritual concerns, perhaps disguised in some way, will become important to you for the first time. This does not necessarily mean that you will be attracted to an organized religion, for your expression of spirituality is likely to be more unorthodox. You will be concerned with a direct experience of the divine or nonmaterial aspects of being. You will recognize that purely material considerations do not give ultimate meaning to your life.

This influence stimulates your compassion for others. You may express this by working for charities or in institutions for people who are physically, mentally or economically disadvantaged; or you may become more concerned with helping people in your immediate environment. One peculiar characteristic of this influence is that you will not be terribly concerned about gratifying your own ego through such work; you only want to be of assistance to others.

In general, this is a rather idealistic time in your life, and you will want very much to actualize your ideals. But nothing will be handed to you now. You will have to work to achieve what you want.

Your creative imagination is also stimulated by this influence. This is a good time for any kind of creative effort, particularly if it involves rather abstract notions. This influence operates in a rather immaterial way and is at its best when dealing with the abstract. Artistic creativity, especially in music and poetry, is favored during this time.

The most negative side of this influence is that you may be tempted to sit around and daydream. Reality may not seem as interesting as your dreams, but this is a time when you can work successfully to realize your dreams, so it would be a tremendous waste of very creative energy to just sit! Any course of action as described above would help you to become a more creative and happy individual. There is much potential in this influence.

Uranus trine Ascendant: Transient relationships

Beginning of April 2013 until beginning of March 2014: This is a time of increased freedom in and through your personal relationships. You are able to express yourself to others in ways that have never before been possible for you. This may take the form of a new interest or hobby or a new field of study. You may be attracted to technical and scientific subjects, as well as to occult studies such as astrology.

You respond much more quickly to people around you now and generally give the impression of being more alive and willing to challenge life, and you are. You may also seem somewhat impulsive and perhaps a bit nervous, but most people will not find you upsetting.

Sudden new contacts with others may provide opportunities to branch out and do things that you have never done before. You may have a chance to travel, for example, or to take up some completely new activity. Your old way of life no longer interests you, and if someone tries to convince you to keep to your old ways, you just get bored.

New relationships may begin now that challenge you creatively, but they may not last longer than this influence, so it is well not to make any permanent commitment until later. Even though the relationships may be transient, they will have a liberating effect upon you and increase your capacity to experience life. Often the other person will act as a "guru," that is, he or she will open up spiritual dimensions that you have never experienced before. However, do not expect this person to come in standard guru clothing. It could be anyone, and very often he or she will not look at all like the conventional notion of a spiritual teacher. Enlightenment takes as many forms as there are teachers and students.

Neptune opposition Pluto: Please wait

End of April 2013 until mid-February 2015: This influence signifies encounters that cause various aspects of your life to be transformed. Most commonly, this transformation will take the form of disappearances of persons, circumstances or even possessions that you have become used to. You will also encounter forces that try to reveal aspects of your life that you have long kept hidden from yourself. Initially you will probably resist these revelations, believing that they cannot teach you anything very constructive. An influence like this often reveals aspects of ourselves that we have been taught to consider evil or at least negative. These aspects are often a source of positive energy, but because we refuse to acknowledge them, that energy is wasted and is usually out of our control. There will be much psychological compulsiveness at this time, but the less you resist facing yourself, the less difficulty you will have.

On another level you will be shown a spiritual dimension of your existence that can immensely broaden your life and experience, if you are willing to look at it. This dimension may seem so far beyond your ordinary life that you will consider it impossible to accept, but this knowledge is necessary for your growth.

On a practical level, avoid taking at face value any new encounters with persons or circumstances. Even when persons are not trying to deceive you, they may do so unintentionally, because you won't immediately understand what they are really showing you. Until you have arrived at this level of understanding, simply adopt a waiting attitude and commit yourself to as little as possible.

Jupiter conjunction Sun: Exuberant optimism

From 13 July 2013 until 22 July 2013: Traditionally this is considered one of the most marvelous influences, and indeed it is quite good. At the very least, you will feel good at this time. Your health is good, and you feel very optimistic. For a while it may seem that everything is working out perfectly, and if you make an effort, it will. But if you simply sit back and enjoy this time, its beneficent influence will pass away with little to show for it afterward.

This is the beginning of a new twelve-year cycle of growth in your life. It is a time to initiate new projects and expand your activities so that you can experience life from a broader perspective. You may find that you can escape from some narrowing and inhibiting circumstance that has prevented you from realizing your full potential as a human being. Sometimes people travel under this configuration, but usually the traveling is more in the mind.

This is a good time to study a subject that raises your consciousness or expands your view of the world, and it is an excellent time for going back to school. You may also meet new people who expose you to aspects of life that you have never known before. Your freedom will certainly increase.

Even with this influence there are some pitfalls. First of all, your exuberant optimism can cause you to overdo or overreach yourself, so that when this time is over, you find yourself out on the proverbial limb. Exercise a certain amount of restraint and build upon what you have rather than trying to increase your holdings beyond your ability to handle them. Be careful of extravagance, and if you invest money, remember that today's luck is not permanent.

Jupiter conjunction Mercury: Foresight

From 19 July 2013 until 28 July 2013: At this time you are able to combine breadth of vision with sharp perception and intellect, knowledge of the particular with knowledge of the general, and thereby see the whole scope of anything you are involved in. This reveals itself as foresight and long-range planning ability. This is a good time to map out your future, because you can understand and interrelate all the elements that will affect your life.

At the same time, you feel optimistic and proceed with the belief that everything will come out exactly as you want it to. And it probably will, because you don't get completely carried away with grandiose thinking. This influence usually indicates a good balance between details and generality in your thinking, but there is also a tendency to deemphasize the details and not pay adequate attention to them. If you are not careful, this can result in sloppy or hasty thinking. Be sure to slow down somewhat and do not get carried away with your plans. Otherwise, this is an excellent time to make decisions or to conclude any kind of transaction. It is a superb time to buy or sell, because you will almost certainly be satisfied with the deal.

As your mind tries to expand, you will want to learn more and more. This is a good time for returning to school, but even on a less formal level you will be anxious to learn. You may even travel long distances with this aim in mind. Any dealings with the law should prove to be quite fortunate for you now. You will prepare for such a confrontation skillfully, leaving no loose ends to trip you up.

Communications with others are exceedingly fortunate under this influence. Your optimism and positive state of mind bring you good news from others concerning matters of importance. At the same time, everything that you say to others is very positive and reinforcing, which leaves good feelings behind you wherever you go.
