End of May 2012 until mid-December 2014: During this time, love relationships, especially, may cause problems because either you or your partner has an unrealistic attitude about the relationship. Disillusionment and disappointment are the likely result when the romantic cloud lifts and the truth about the relationship becomes clear. All of us idealize a new lover to a certain extent, for that is part of the normal process of falling in love. But this influence indicates that the problem can be much more severe because of your unwillingness to accept reality as it is. You are inclined to look for partners and relationships that can help you escape from the humdrum, everyday world into a magical world of fantasy and beautiful illusions. But unfortunately you must pick your partner from the human race, and the people who can truly fulfill this kind of dream are extremely rare. So you create a beautiful image in your imagination and pretend that a specific person fits the image. And you are likely to persist, even though everyone can see, even you if you open your eyes, that your loved one is not what you fantasize. This is the most extreme manifestation of this influence, and it is not an uncommon reaction.

This influence can create other kinds of relationship difficulties as well, such as obscure problems within an existing relationship. For example, you may find it difficult to communicate with your partner, or one of you may do something behind the other's back, thus undermining your mutual confidence.

The most useful effect of this influence is that it stimulates the creative imagination. In fact, every illusion or delusion is really only a misuse of creative imagination or a confusion of imagination with truth. If you can keep truth and imagination separate you will derive great benefit from this period, especially if you are intrinsically creative. Artistic creativity is heightened by this influence, and even your relationships can be more interesting, if you don't lose sight of their real nature.

Pluto square Sun: Power struggles

Beginning of February 2013 until beginning of December 2014: This time is a test of your strength and the energy with which you have established yourself in your world. The test may take many forms, but in any form it will require that your sense of personhood be in reasonably good shape; in other words, you should know who and what you are. If you do not really know yourself, this time is likely to bring about crises that will cause major changes in your life.

One form that it may take is a test of your self-control as you try to get ahead in the world. This influence stimulates your ambition and desire for power out of all proportion. If there is a ruthless side to your personality that will do anything to destroy opposition, it will come out now. But, at the same time, forces in your world will try very hard to stop you. To overcome the forces arrayed against you, you will require extreme ruthlessness. On the other hand, you may know precisely what you need to succeed and go after just that, being willing to compromise and make your success also the success of others. This is the proper course to take, but unfortunately this kind of accommodating spirit is not often found.

If you are of a more retiring disposition, you may experience this time quite differently. Instead of being the person on a power trip, you may have to contend with someone else who is. Here again you must determine exactly your rights and needs as an individual and stand up for them. The problem here is not that you will overstep your bounds but that someone else will. But you must fight or at least resist. Either of these power struggles is most likely to occur with someone in authority.

This energy may also surface in the outer expression of your life. You may be surrounded by conditions of breakdown and decay, which are an outward sign of the need to rebuild within. Under extreme conditions, this influence can release its energy in a single explosive burst as an injury or physical assault. Certainly you should avoid conflicts with others that may lead to physical fighting, because the energies here are quite dangerous.

Uranus opposition Sun: Security vs. freedom

Beginning of May 2013 until beginning of April 2014: During this time you should look for sudden changes in your environment that challenge your expression as an individual and force you to take a stand about what you really are. A sudden challenge in the outer world may force you to take more responsibility for your life. Typical effects of this influence would include sudden events concerning men; unexpected circumstances that force you to change your course of action; sudden changes in a relationship, especially if you have not allowed self- expression for yourself or your partner; and sudden changes in health, involving your heart and circulatory system especially.

By this time you have built up a lifestyle that you consider valid and practically realizable. Most adults by now have given up certain ideals and goals as impossible. You have probably surrendered large parts of yourself as an accommodation with reality. The suppressed energies from this source lie behind the manifestation of this influence. It demands that hidden pressures be released, but you will probably feel that these events are happening to you rather than that you are doing them. What is happening is the passing away of something that has prevented you from being free. The trouble is that most people come to value security and predictability over freedom of self-expression. Consequently this influence is frequently upsetting.

Jupiter square Jupiter: Impending shortages

From 31 July 2013 until 10 August 2013: With this influence it is very important that you keep your affairs from getting out of hand. There is a strong tendency to excess, which may make it impossible to keep up with whatever you are involved in, simply because it is more than you can handle. Be particularly careful concerning financial matters, for you are likely to spend without thinking, confident that there is an abundance of money or other resources to back you up. You may not notice the pinch immediately, but shortly after this period you may experience shortages that will be severely exacerbated if you spend money foolishly now.

But money is not the only area of concern. You may be overcommitted to projects that demand more time than you really have. So in every area of your life, make sure that you really have the time or resources to do what you have set out to do. Do not overestimate the resources at your disposal.

If you avoid that pitfall, this can be a very fruitful influence, because it gives you more confidence and optimism and allows you to undertake projects that you would ordinarily be reluctant to take on. Also your basically positive attitude helps to ensure that your affairs will turn out the way you want.

Under this influence some persons experience a kind of ego inflation in which they have delusions of grandeur or overestimate their self-importance. This can lead to arrogant behavior and inflated pride with little or no real substance behind it.

What this influence does is test your sense of proportion. You have to know what you really can and cannot do and who you really are. Insofar as you fulfill those conditions, this influence will give you apparent luck and greater power to achieve.

Mid-August 2013 until mid-April 2014: This can be an excellent time, but you must watch out for some pitfalls that could undo all the benefits. Basically this influence is a test of your discipline and self-restraint. If you are not a restrained person, you will react to this influence by going overboard in some way, overextending yourself or living in a fool's paradise where you think nothing can go wrong. Or you might squander a valuable resource, only to find on another day that you do not have enough of what you need. Sometimes there is a feeling that luck will provide everything that you need without any effort on your part, but this, too, is a false notion.

But this time can also provide a chance for real growth and expanded opportunities. It is a matter of how much control you have over yourself. You have to know precisely where you are and what your real needs are in order to take the most advantage of this time. You also have to know when you can't handle anything more. Knowing when to stop is the real trick.

Sometimes this influence encourages ego inflation and excessive pride. Be careful not to act in an overbearing manner, for you will set people in motion who will try to knock you down a peg or two. Here too, you must know where to stop.

Under certain conditions this influence can trigger conflict with the law or with someone else in a court of law. You may or may not lose, but don't act the role of outraged honor and dignity. Try to find out exactly what the problem is and arrive at a solution that is satisfactory to all.

Jupiter conjunction Uranus: A sudden windfall

End of August 2013 until end of April 2014: This is a time of surprises and sudden opportunities. And you will strive now for a kind of freedom you have never known before. You may throw over all kinds of responsibilities and try to recapture your lost youth.

The most negative aspect of this influence is reluctance to live up to your responsibilities. Be careful that in your desire for freedom you do not let people down who are really counting on you. On the other hand, you have to strike a balance between the demands that others make on you and your need to be yourself.

At the same time, this influence arouses your idealism. You find it very hard to accept sordid or unjust conditions, either in your personal surroundings or in the outer world. For this reason you may become involved in a reform movement or group that works to change social conditions.

But this influence can work out in an entirely different manner. It may mean a sudden break or opportunity from an entirely unexpected quarter - for example, a sudden windfall or a sudden encounter with someone who proves to be beneficial to you. These are just a few of the possibilities. It is difficult to say exactly which of these might occur, because this is a very erratic influence.

Another effect of this influence is that it can open your eyes to new possibilities. Its consciousness-expanding nature can help you see situations from a totally different angle, and you may think of solutions to the problems that you have had to face. Often these will be radical solutions that you would usually be afraid of, but this influence gives you the confidence to try them.

Whatever the effects of this influence, you can expect a sudden broadening of the scope of your life and the opportunity to encounter life from a new, richer and broader perspective. This may come about through a major transforming event or through a series of minor ones that collectively have a large impact.
