Beginning of April 2013 until beginning of March 2014: This influence calls forth very potent energies that can be quite disruptive, but they must be handled. Any effort to sidestep the issues that this influence raises could be disastrous, because it represents explosive forces that may break out in any area of your life.

On the psychological level, you may be much more irritable than usual and prone to outbursts of anger. Conditions in your life that you have put up with for years, even though they are wrong, now become intolerable. You simply will not allow them to continue. Even limitations imposed from without that always seemed quite reasonable now seem completely impossible to bear.

What you are feeling is the need to assert your individuality against all the forces that have been blocking its expression in the past. You want to be yourself and have your individuality recognized for what it is, not for what others expect it to be. You want to do things immediately that you have never done before.

With some degree of care and moderation, this energy can be used quite creatively. It is imperative that you release the tensions you are feeling now. Suppressing this energy will only lead to worse problems.

Jupiter opposition Saturn: Danger of misjudgment

From 4 June 2013 until 13 June 2013: With this influence it is very difficult to know exactly which direction the trends in your life are taking. Thus you must be extremely careful in your guesses, because of the danger of misjudgment.

Decisions in general are difficult during this time because you are caught in a conflict between caution and optimism. Whenever one attitude gets the upper hand in your mind, the other comes along and undermines it. Often it seems very difficult to know whether to expand or retrench. This problem will be especially bad if you have overextended yourself in the past and had to cut back. This creates a lack of self-confidence, which may surface now.

You may also experience a conflict at this time between the desire for greater freedom and opportunity and the desire to hold on to the safe and predictable circumstances that you are used to. Often the temptation is to break away from everything and start over without the weight of the past holding you back, so you think. The restlessness resulting from this conflict can cause you to make many significant changes in your life, especially about your career. Relationships are also frequently difficult, especially those that involve much responsibility. Casual relationships and friendships are less likely to suffer.

However, if you are basically satisfied with your life and you don't feel that your duties and obligations are onerous, you should experience the positive side of this influence, which is actually quite considerable. This is a time when you can expand the structures in your life to include much more than ever before. For example, you could safely expand a business, because your cautiousness during this time will probably prevent you from overextending yourself. Or you could take on more responsibilities, which would make your work more satisfying.

Jupiter opposition Uranus: A need for newness

From 9 June 2013 until 18 June 2013: This influence signifies a desire to release yourself from restrictions and obligations that you feel have limited your life unnecessarily. Often it coincides with a sudden break from some limiting circumstance, such as a person, a job or simply a way of life. This need for newness in your life and for something different from the daily routine is a powerful force, and it will be very difficult to continue as you have.

You will feel the breaking away itself as an enormous relief, a lessening of tension. For this reason you must review your life very carefully to find out what needs to be overthrown and what does not. The danger is that you will overthrow worthwhile things along with the useless. Be careful of this, because it could substantially vitiate any advantage you gain from your new freedom.

Relationships are especially affected by this influence, particularly those that obligate you in some way. A partnership, either marital or business, may be quite difficult to maintain during this time. And to add to the confusion, it is sometimes your partner who wants out. This is an example of an influence experienced in projected form; instead of putting out the energy yourself, you encounter someone who is apparently doing it for you. In this case, do not attempt to hold on to the other person, for that is the surest way to drive him away. Give your partner all the freedom he needs, for you need it, too, although you are not as aware of it.

A related expression of this influence is encountering a person who seeks in some way to liberate you from yourself or from some duty that you have voluntarily taken on. You may find such a person irritating, but he or she is performing a valuable function in your life. Again, the roles may be reversed, and you may set out to change someone else's life. The point is that this is a valuable influence, even though it may be somewhat disruptive. It can prevent your life from becoming so static and stabilized that you cease to be truly alive.

Uranus opposition Mercury: Constant exposure

Mid-June 2013 until end of February 2015: This influence may bring considerable excitement into your life from several different quarters. Its general effect is to stimulate and quicken the tempo of your everyday communication and thinking. You will not be able to sit back and take it easy, for you will constantly be exposed to news, conversations, letters and other communications that will challenge you to make a quick response and which can be quite upsetting. You will have to face life with more flexibility than usual and be prepared to change your thinking on a number of issues.

At its best, this influence gives you an opportunity to become involved with new and stimulating ways of thinking and looking at the world. You will be attracted to challenging systems of thought that let you discover new facets of life. You may begin to study astrology, other occult disciplines or a scientific or technical field. Any subject that allows you to experiment and try out new ideas will appeal to you.

However, this influence also has a problem side. Be careful not to let the tempo of your life become too rapid, for it can accelerate to the point that you cannot keep track of what is happening. There is a danger that you can become mentally exhausted and suffer from nerves and anxiety, particularly if you are used to a rather quiet routine. Try not to be too bothered by upsetting news. Deal with events as calmly and carefully as possible, and if you begin to feel harried, don't take on any more responsibilities than you have to.

Traveling at this time is not a very good idea. A pleasure trip would bring too many unexpected surprises to be enjoyable, and it would not be at all relaxing. If you travel for business, so many things may go wrong unexpectedly that you would be better off not making the trip. This influence may also scatter your thinking so much that you should not make important decisions. This is an excellent time for new discoveries and new experiences, but it is not good for making commitments that will bind you in the future. In general this period is not good for business negotiations.

Jupiter opposition Neptune: Wrapped up

From 25 July 2013 until 3 August 2013: During this time it is often difficult to keep the real and the ideal sorted out. This is an extremely spiritual influence, which may make the real world seem inadequate to you, causing you to seek an escape into a more ideal and perfect "reality." Normally this escape is not through drugs or alcohol, but if you have a predisposition toward them, it could work out that way. Usually, this influence indicates a mental state in which you become wrapped up in all manner of abstract speculations or high ideals that are difficult to actualize.

On another level, this influence may tempt you to become involved in unrealistic schemes that you could only believe if blinded by extreme optimism. You may want to gamble and take risks with your resources, and if you are not careful, wild speculations and gambling could leave you bankrupt. Oddly enough, some people are so geared that they can handle the gambling aspect of this influence very well and make seemingly wild investments pan out. Usually these people have a talent for calculating the risks, however. Remember that there is a difference between amateur and professional gamblers. The main point here is that if you are tempted to get into some investment scheme, make sure that it is within your area of personal expertise.

Under certain circumstances this influence can signify the beginning of a very idealistic kind of relationship, one in which you look to your partner as a kind of god or spiritual guide. This may or may not be an accurate picture. You must be careful here also, because you could idealize a person beyond all reason, even when he does not want you to do so.

And of course, you too could be the victim of an outright deception. Be careful to deal with people as they really are, by accepting them as they are and not demanding that they conform to an ideal in your mind.

Jupiter square Mars: Insight and skill

Beginning of August 2013 until end of March 2014: This influence gives you a great deal of confidence and makes you feel very self-assertive. Usually this is all right, but some people will express this energy by becoming arrogant and domineering. Also be wary of overconfidence, resulting in attempts to do things that are simply beyond you.

Intemperance in almost any activity could completely undo the basically positive nature of this influence. Avoid exaggeration and try to maintain some sense of proportion. If you can do all of this, you will be able to get more work done than usual, and you will do it well. You will be able to accomplish things that you are usually afraid to tackle because you feel inadequate, and you can take the initiative when you would otherwise wait for others to take the lead.

With care and planning and adequate restraint, this influence is a general sign of fortunately timed action that takes advantage of the proper moment and makes the most of it. And this is not luck on your part, but insight and skill. All of this requires preparation, however, because impulsive actions at this time are not likely to be very effective.

It may be particularly important to placate persons in authority over you. If you act precipitately, they may become alarmed and think of you as a threat, whether or not you intend to be. Of course, if you do consciously intend to be a threat, this influence could be a help, assuming again that you have planned carefully. But if you are not conscious of your intentions, you may experience opposition from your superiors without ever quite understanding why.
