Mid-November 2012 until end of August 2013: This is one of the most emotionally trying influences. It is frequently associated with domestic or professional problems, emotional depression, loneliness, difficulties with women or difficulties with personal relationships, often leading to breakups.

This influence represents an "alienation crisis," that is, a crisis brought about by the discovery that you have been neglecting your emotional and psychological needs. As a result you feel alone and disconnected from others, like an alien in the world whom no one else can ever adequately understand.

To a greater or lesser extent, everyone's life revolves around an overall task or purpose that makes one's life unique. The purpose may be a job, motherhood, fatherhood, some movement that you believe in or anything else that gives you a sense of purpose. Often an alienation crisis occurs when you discover that you have gone too far too fast in pursuit of your life purpose and have neglected your psychological and emotional needs. Perhaps you have neglected your relationships or your domestic life, or you have repressed your feelings. In this way you build up a wall between yourself and others, which makes you feel alone and alienated.

You must make your personal life and your public role or other central purpose work together. That will require changing your lifestyle so that you can pay equal attention to both.

Saturn conjunction Venus: Harsh realizations

End of November 2012 until mid-September 2013: This influence will have a strong effect on your relationships with others. Relationships that are solidly based will go through a period of testing and examination during which you and your loved ones and friends will become increasingly concerned about what is valid between you. A weak and unstable relationship will go through the same process, but you are more likely to conclude that it is not worth preserving. Consequently, at this time the relationships that have no purpose or that have outlived their purpose in your life will be cut off. Often you will be reluctant to let go of them.

Even in the best of circumstances you are likely to withdraw from others. During this time you have to evaluate who you are, what your individuality consists of and how all of these fit into your relationships with other people, particularly loved ones. You may come to some harsh realizations about your relationships, and even those that you thought were quite good may have to be given up. But you can be sure that any relationship that comes through this period in good shape is very real and important to you.

New relationships with a strongly "fated" quality may also come into your life now, which will have very profound significance for you in about fourteen years.

This is definitely a time to be conservative in financial matters and not take on any new financial obligations, for you may have trouble meeting your existing ones. On the other hand, this is an excellent time for firming up and organizing the financial structure of your life.

In general you should look upon this transit as a time for withdrawing into yourself with respect to others and to material possessions. This withdrawal will enable you to get a clearer idea of what and who you are, so that your future relationships with people and possessions will be more solidly based on reality and therefore more reliable and useful.

Uranus square Saturn: At all costs

Mid-April 2013 until mid-March 2014: This is a time of considerable testing. Events will challenge your sense of order, discipline and duty, as well as your notions about the world. You may encounter disruptions that make you wonder whether you really understand what is going on around you. You may be forced to revise some of your ideas, although any valid beliefs will survive this period without difficulty.

Restrictions that you have accepted but that have no real purpose in your overall individual growth may become unbearable at this time. For example, if you are putting up with a bad relationship for the sake of emotional or financial security, you may find that the tensions have become too great. You will experience a sudden desire to break free at all costs, even if it means violating your own standards of behavior. Your actions will surprise others who have believed the outward appearance that everything was all right. They will not expect your actions.

In your professional situation - if you are still active - you may have greater difficulty than usual in getting along with your employers. If the tension becomes too great, you may want to change jobs. But you should make such a change only after carefully considering what your present job has to do with your real purpose in life. You should think just as carefully before deciding whether or not to leave a relationship.

The purpose of this influence is not to overthrow everything that you consider important in life, but it does force you to examine the factors that are causing you to fall short of your potentials. In accepting these limitations you have settled for less than you deserve or need.

As the conflict builds up between your desire to break free and the normal desire for order in your life, the physical tension may become quite intense. It is very important that you are able to communicate with someone in order to help release the tension, because it can be quite damaging to your body.

Uranus opposition Sun: Security vs. freedom

Mid-April 2013 until mid-March 2014: During this time you should look for sudden changes in your environment that challenge your expression as an individual and force you to take a stand about what you really are. A sudden challenge in the outer world may force you to take more responsibility for your life. Typical effects of this influence would include sudden events concerning men; unexpected circumstances that force you to change your course of action; sudden changes in a relationship, especially if you have not allowed self-expression for yourself or your partner; and sudden changes in health, involving your heart and circulatory system especially.

By this time you have built up a lifestyle that you consider valid and practically realizable. Most adults by now have given up certain ideals and goals as impossible. You have probably surrendered large parts of yourself as an accommodation with reality. The suppressed energies from this source lie behind the manifestation of this influence. It demands that hidden pressures be released, but you will probably feel that these events are happening to you rather than that you are doing them. What is happening is the passing away of something that has prevented you from being free. The trouble is that most people come to value security and predictability over freedom of self-expression. Consequently this influence is frequently upsetting.

Jupiter conjunction Saturn: A new freedom

Beginning of August 2013 until beginning of April 2014: During this time you will confront your own inhibitions and self-restrictions, as well as the restrictions placed upon you by circumstances. You may wish to break free of them in order to enlarge your scope of activity, so you can go to places and do things that you have never been able to do before. On the other hand, you may choose to grow within the structure of restriction in your life, using that very structure to enlarge your life. It can go either way, depending very much upon your temperament. And neither way is better as a general rule. It depends entirely on what is appropriate in terms of your own life.

If you respond by trying to break free, you will begin to feel very restless. Events and circumstances will make it clear that you have neglected much that must be done, and the structures of your life that have held you back will seem intolerable. You can no longer accept barriers such as responsibilities that you have put up with for years, onerous duties or perhaps a built-in fear of breaking away from the established order. Consequently, if you react in this way, this is often a time of breaking away and leaping out into a new freedom. This is often accompanied by a change of residence or the breakup of relationships. And however catastrophic these changes seem to others, they are usually quite fortunate and allow everything to work out for the best.

If you respond in the second manner, you will also seek to expand your life and find new freedom, but for a variety of reasons you will not overthrow the structures of your life in order to do so. Instead you will seize every opportunity to build new structures and expand the already existing order. Whatever you build up now, either in yourself or in the outer world, will be lasting.

Jupiter square Sun: A matter of self-control

Beginning of August 2013 until beginning of April 2014: This can be an excellent time, but you must watch out for some pitfalls that could undo all the benefits. Basically this influence is a test of your discipline and self-restraint. If you are not a restrained person, you will react to this influence by going overboard in some way, overextending yourself or living in a fool's paradise where you think nothing can go wrong. Or you might squander a valuable resource, only to find on another day that you do not have enough of what you need. Sometimes there is a feeling that luck will provide everything that you need without any effort on your part, but this, too, is a false notion.

But this time can also provide a chance for real growth and expanded opportunities. It is a matter of how much control you have over yourself. You have to know precisely where you are and what your real needs are in order to take the most advantage of this time. You also have to know when you can't handle anything more. Knowing when to stop is the real trick.

Sometimes this influence encourages ego inflation and excessive pride. Be careful not to act in an overbearing manner, for you will set people in motion who will try to knock you down a peg or two. Here too, you must know where to stop.

Under certain conditions this influence can trigger conflict with the law or with someone else in a court of law. You may or may not lose, but don't act the role of outraged honor and dignity. Try to find out exactly what the problem is and arrive at a solution that is satisfactory to all.
