Robert Hand's Transits of the Year. These reports will select the really relevant themes of a
12-month period for you, and deal with them in depth and style.
The report was generated for 6 months starting from June 2013 with the following birth data:
female, born on 12 October 1944 at 5:50 pm in Plymouth, England.
Your sun sign is Libra. This is the sign in which the Sun is in your birth chart. Your
Ascendant is in Pisces, and your Moon is in Leo.
Saturn trine Saturn: Inner stability
Beginning of January 2013 until mid-October 2013: At this time you can incorporate into
yourself the fruits of previous successes, look them over and appreciate them for what they
were. The key idea is that you are in a position to understand your life and therefore better
able to be in conscious control of it. This is not merely an intellectual understanding, it
is born of experience. You have lived through certain things, and now you can proceed on the
basis of that understanding.
Your public and social life will run smoothly at this time. Relationships, which reflect what
you are, are also more stable at this time because of your own inner stability.
Your outlook on life has also reached a point of equilibrium. You have a good understanding
of how you look at life, and it works well enough that you may not question it very much. The
problem is that this is not a time of testing, so you don't know how well your ideas will
stand up to future crisis. You only know how well they withstood past tests. But the future
is always different, and what happens in the future depends upon what is true at that time.
Therefore you must keep your mind open and flexible. You only know what you know, and that is
not everything. Continue to examine yourself and see what could be improved. Even if your
life is satisfactory now, it may not always be.
Pluto opposition Saturn: The truth works
Mid-January 2013 until mid-November 2014: During this time you will experience changing
circumstances and situations that may force you to surrender many things - material goods,
relationships, principles - that you have previously held on to. You will probably resist
these "losses," which is how you will experience them, with great tenacity and stubbornness.
You will need great discipline under this influence, because you may not have any resources to
waste, and you may be forced to do as much as possible with very little.
Feelings are often suppressed under this influence, as if facing the reality of your present
conditions does not permit you the luxury of indulging in emotions. However, this is more
apparent than real. You may confuse hardheartedness with hardheadedness and suppress feelings
for what you consider to be "practical" reasons. Even if your situation becomes very
difficult, you should still keep your heart open to others, or you will bear the scars of this
period for the rest of your life as a loss of humanity.
You may feel that you have to work very hard and that nothing ever comes of it. That is true
in that the kind of overt success that everyone can clearly recognize is not likely to come
now. Your life is in a state of change, and your circumstances are stable enough to bring
anything to the kind of culmination that constitutes success. But you are laying a framework
for future success. Your inner structure as a human being is changing, and it is the profound
insecurity of such a transformation that is making you hold on to the past so furiously with
such a sense of effort. When this period is over, your life course may be considerably
changed. The only reason you aren't getting anywhere now is that there isn't anywhere for you
to go in that direction. Remember, the truth works! If it doesn't work for you, it isn't true
for you! This may be the most important lesson that you can learn at this time.
Uranus sextile Uranus: The other way around
Beginning of June 2013 until mid-February 2015: Now, at the age of around seventy, you
experience a time when you can gain great insights into your relationship with the larger
world, but the emphasis is different. Instead of learning about the outside world and your
place in it, you are likely to focus on what you have got from your life. You will reflect on
your encounter with the outside world and what your personal values mean in it. Throughout
much of your life you may have been so concerned with making your business, professional and
social life work out as you wanted that you haven't paid enough attention to your inner life
and needs. Insights gained at this time will cause you to reevaluate your goals and give your
personal needs a higher priority. You are no longer bound by the obligations that prevented
you from doing this before. Now you are free to explore your own inner world and come to a
better understanding of who you are and how your life has fitted your needs.
Jupiter conjunction Saturn: A new freedom
Beginning of August 2013 until beginning of April 2014: During this time you will confront
your own inhibitions and self-restrictions, as well as the restrictions placed upon you by
circumstances. You may wish to break free of them in order to enlarge your scope of activity,
so you can go to places and do things that you have never been able to do before. On the
other hand, you may choose to grow within the structure of restriction in your life, using
that very structure to enlarge your life. It can go either way, depending very much upon your
temperament. And neither way is better as a general rule. It depends entirely on what is
appropriate in terms of your own life.
If you respond by trying to break free, you will begin to feel very restless. Events and
circumstances will make it clear that you have neglected much that must be done, and the
structures of your life that have held you back will seem intolerable. You can no longer
accept barriers such as responsibilities that you have put up with for years, onerous duties
or perhaps a built-in fear of breaking away from the established order. Consequently, if you
react in this way, this is often a time of breaking away and leaping out into a new freedom.
This is often accompanied by a change of residence or the breakup of relationships. And
however catastrophic these changes seem to others, they are usually quite fortunate and allow
everything to work out for the best.
If you respond in the second manner, you will also seek to expand your life and find new
freedom, but for a variety of reasons you will not overthrow the structures of your life in
order to do so. Instead you will seize every opportunity to build new structures and expand
the already existing order. Whatever you build up now, either in yourself or in the outer
world, will be lasting.
Jupiter sextile Jupiter: In good working order
Mid-September 2013 until mid-May 2014: This is a time of balance and equilibrium in your life,
when all your affairs seem to run smoothly and without much effort on your part. It is a time
when you can relax and take it easy for a while, knowing that your life is in good working
order. This is also a time when growth seems to occur without much effort - growth in
consciousness, in your social life or wherever you feel that personal growth is important.
But this is not really a time when you should just enjoy yourself. You should do that, to be
sure, but you should also be examining your life to see what needs to be done. It is
important to think this way now because the equilibrium that is characteristic of this period
enables you to look about yourself with reasonable calm and detachment. It is much harder to
achieve a perspective when you are in the middle of some major and possibly chaotic change.
This is a good time to achieve perspective in all possible senses of the word. It is a good
time for education, either formal or informal, for getting in touch with yourself through
self-awareness studies, or for seeing the larger world through travel.
Business transactions or negotiations are also favored now. Legal affairs also usually run
quite smoothly.
Jupiter square Sun: A matter of self-control
End of September 2013 until end of May 2014: This can be an excellent time, but you must watch
out for some pitfalls that could undo all the benefits. Basically this influence is a test of
your discipline and self-restraint. If you are not a restrained person, you will react to
this influence by going overboard in some way, overextending yourself or living in a fool's
paradise where you think nothing can go wrong. Or you might squander a valuable resource,
only to find on another day that you do not have enough of what you need. Sometimes there is
a feeling that luck will provide everything that you need without any effort on your part, but
this, too, is a false notion.
But this time can also provide a chance for real growth and expanded opportunities. It is a
matter of how much control you have over yourself. You have to know precisely where you are
and what your real needs are in order to take the most advantage of this time. You also have
to know when you can't handle anything more. Knowing when to stop is the real trick.
Sometimes this influence encourages ego inflation and excessive pride. Be careful not to act
in an overbearing manner, for you will set people in motion who will try to knock you down a
peg or two. Here too, you must know where to stop.
Under certain conditions this influence can trigger conflict with the law or with someone else
in a court of law. You may or may not lose, but don't act the role of outraged honor and
dignity. Try to find out exactly what the problem is and arrive at a solution that is
satisfactory to all.
