The cheerful and inexpensive forecast for one year.
The means by which you revive and renew a relationship will vary according to your
temperament. If a relationship is quite unsatisfactory and you are naturally impulsive, you
may respond in the "classic" manner by seeking a new love affair. If you are more
conservative and also happier in an existing relationship, you will go through a period of
tension that will lead you to reexamine the relationship and make necessary changes. If you
are living with your partner and having problems now, a relationship counselor might be
helpful. You need new ideas to enliven your relationship, which an outsider might be able to
provide. Some couples create new arrangements under this influence, such as an open
relationship, in which they allow relationships outside of their own. In this regard you must
do what is appropriate for the two of you.
If you are not in a permanent relationship, you may become involved in a relationship that is
completely different from anything you have experienced before. However, in this case, you
should be aware that the excitement and newness of such a relationship may be a large factor
in making it work, and when it becomes older and more routine it might not last.
If you are involved in an artistic activity, you will brim over with new ideas. This can be a
very creative influence, although you may have to wait until it is over to integrate what you
have learned into your regular techniques.
Jupiter conjunction Ascendant: Beware of airs
From 3 August 2013 until 13 August 2013: During this period you feel good and project warm
positive energies out into the world. This in turn affects your relationships very positively
and enables you to encounter people who can be good for you precisely because you are good for
them. In all transactions with others you will give and receive in equal measure.
Personal relationships expand under this influence. If you have been living in a relatively
small circle of friends and acquaintances, you will expand your circle and meet people whom
you wouldn't ordinarily, possibly including the rich and famous or people in power. Just be
careful that you don't become involved with these people for superficial reasons; make sure
that you can grow through them. The fact that a person is socially significant may not have
any relevance to your relationship.
The basis for all this is that in a very real sense you are growing and taking more and more
of the outer world into your personal sphere. You are trying to include more of the world in
your experience. Properly handled, this process can make you a much wiser and more mature
individual. Your view of life should expand, and you should become increasingly tolerant of
the wide differences among people in the world. You have the opportunity to become a man of
the world to a much greater extent.
At this time, you should be careful not to assume arrogant airs or to think that you are
better than you are. You are probably a fine person, but that does not mean that you are
necessarily better than everyone else. Think in terms of your personal growth, not in terms
of your status with respect to others.
Jupiter conjunction Neptune: A sense of compassion
End of August 2013 until beginning of May 2014: During this time your ideals will be aroused
as they seldom are at other times, and you will approach life with a greater sense of
compassion. People who cannot help themselves will win your sympathy especially, whether you
encounter them personally or through working with others in a charitable enterprise. Your
primary concern is to help individuals by giving them a hand. You may be less concerned with
transforming the social order that has given rise to the conditions that oppress the people
you are dealing with.
Your interest in spiritual, religious and mystical philosophy is likely to grow at this time,
and you may become involved in a group that is studying these subjects. This world no longer
seems to meet your needs adequately, so you have to turn inward to find a world that can give
you what you really need. Here, too, you will discover that the ego's drives for self-
gratification and self-assertion may be the major factors in preventing you from getting what
you want out of life. At this time the demands of the ego must be quieted at least a little,
so you can hear what the inner self is really saying.
Unfortunately there is another side to this influence, which you should watch for. Some
people develop a feeling of false happiness, like living in the dream world of an opium
smoker, with no basis in reality. You may feel that everything is all right when it is not,
or you may feel that you can do anything you want and get away with it. That is why this
influence is often associated with gambling or taking risks with limited resources, often with
disastrous results. This is not a very good time for investments, not because you will
necessarily lose out, but because you just won't know for sure, and you will be tempted to
gamble even when it is a poor risk. For the same reason, in business deals be sure you are
not the victim of a massive misrepresentation.
With this influence it is best to avoid purely selfish concerns, for when your actions are
thus motivated you are most likely to encounter its negative side.
Jupiter square Sun: A matter of self-control
Beginning of September 2013 until mid-May 2014: This can be an excellent time, but you must
watch out for some pitfalls that could undo all the benefits. Basically this influence is a
test of your discipline and self-restraint. If you are not a restrained person, you will
react to this influence by going overboard in some way, overextending yourself or living in a
fool's paradise where you think nothing can go wrong. Or you might squander a valuable
resource, only to find on another day that you do not have enough of what you need. Sometimes
there is a feeling that luck will provide everything that you need without any effort on your
part, but this, too, is a false notion.
But this time can also provide a chance for real growth and expanded opportunities. It is a
matter of how much control you have over yourself. You have to know precisely where you are
and what your real needs are in order to take the most advantage of this time. You also have
to know when you can't handle anything more. Knowing when to stop is the real trick.
Sometimes this influence encourages ego inflation and excessive pride. Be careful not to act
in an overbearing manner, for you will set people in motion who will try to knock you down a
peg or two. Here too, you must know where to stop.
Under certain conditions this influence can trigger conflict with the law or with someone else
in a court of law. You may or may not lose, but don't act the role of outraged honor and
dignity. Try to find out exactly what the problem is and arrive at a solution that is
satisfactory to all.
