Perhaps a Biblical Scholar can quote the precise chapter and verse where Scripture identifies deception as Evil’s most effective tool and enduring weapon. Evil personified assumes the form of Satan or the devil. Described in colorful ways by various cultures, the common denominator that best defines this entity is its power to seduce. Put plainly: evil conjures the ultimate sales pitch. For how else can it be that persons so predictably sell their souls in exchange for transitory gains and temporal advantages? The force behind these transactions must prove thoroughly convincing. Evil deftly deploys the power of persuasion, an expert use of the silver tongue. This dark art marks the quintessential salesman.
Following the astrological blue-print we see that each sign is endowed with specific strengths and weaknesses. The winged god Mercury presides over commerce, markets, learning methods, communications, and language. Mercury operates as the Zodiac’s appointed salesman and governs the sign of Gemini (as well as Virgo). Donald Trump happens to be a Gemini as are several empowered members of his team. These individuals currently wield enormous influence over U.S practices and policies.
Donald Trump, real estate tycoon, learned how to exploit flaws in the legal system to his own nefarious advantage. He’s honed the role of ultimate salesman. After all, he managed to convince approximately 30% of the U.S. electorate that he would “drain the swamp” and “make America great again.” Six months into his hopefully first and last term, he’s appointed high cabinet positions to persons intent upon destroying these same regulatory agencies: staples of a just society.
Author Sinclair Lewis once remarked that when fascism came to America it would be wrapped in the cross and the flag. Trump has appointed right-wing Fundamentalist Christians to head significant departments. These individuals profess to follow the Prince of Peace yet they are keen on war and harsh on the poor. Their ruling ethos appears to diametrically oppose Christ’s teachings.
Vice President, Gemini Mike Pence’s ideas about Women’s Rights suit Margaret Atwood’s dystopian vision, The Handmaiden’s Tale. Being true to his faith means controlling women’s wombs through restricted access to both birth control and abortion. Yet he appears to harbor no revulsion for war or capital punishment.
Then there is Gemini Erik Prince, an individual whose career rests upon deploying the most efficient ways to kill perceived enemies. In his bifurcated, with us or against us worldview, that means Muslims.
Hollywood has played a significant part in promoting simplistic portraits of good and evil. Gemini Clint Eastwood glamorized the persona of the gun-toting good guy who enjoys using lethal force for the purposes of good. Gemini John Wayne is regarded as a great hero for his screen portrayals yet he never stood on any actual war field. These larger than life movie stars, illuminated in frame after frame of exciting film footage profoundly impact the collective consciousness.
One fictional film character who remains memorable is infamous Dr. Jekyll-Mr. Hyde. His duality suggests Gemini’s twin personae. Dr. Jekyll presented a caring face to the world during professional daylight hours. However, nocturnal hours unleashed the activities of his darker twin.
Recently, after watching several documentaries on serial killers, I decided to analyze their birth charts. I focused on 17 cases and initially included the chart of Chris Kyle, the American Sniper. This young man demonstrated a unique enthusiasm for hunting down human beings. Had he not worn a military uniform, this sport would have likely defined him as a serial killer. The magazine that published the work censored out all references to this military hero.
Although 17 cases hardly make for an exhaustive data pool, what emerged as statistically significant was the sign of Gemini. That included Gemini sun, Gemini Moon, and given the time period: Uranus Gemini. I had expected to see Scorpio natives win the title since the 8th sign holds a direct connection to sex, death, and under-the-radar operations.
Sun signs of course only tell part of the story. Each birth chart operates as a prism that reflects the positions of 9 other planets (counting the moon). In my study Saturn also proved significant since it’s associated with paranoia and the reflexive urge to control. Uranus incites rebellion against the status quo and equips sociopaths with an almost inhuman capacity to detach from others’ emotional pain.
Interestingly enough, whether I pooled for sun, moon, Mercury or other major planets, the sign of Gemini stood out. And that takes us back to the Jekyll-Hyde persona and its seductive powers of deception. Many serial killers lured their victims to their deaths. No doubt that process called for telling a convincing story. Serial killers often elude their captors as well as potentially suspecting family members. This also entails adept tall tale telling. Think Jeffrey Dahmer’s burnt pot roast.
The United States owns a warlike history. The nation’s driving mythology is marked by duality. Under the guise of operating as the world’s policeman (i.e. officer of the peace), the U.S. has launched numerous wars of aggression. Given that a nation’s leadership determines policy, it’s pertinent to examine Gemini’s ideological imprint since numerous twins are currently at the wheel.
A rare astrological event weighs into the calculus. It seeded the collective consciousness with a bifurcated worldview. Pluto, god of the underworld (and ruler of Scorpio) merged forces with Neptune (ruler of Pisces), the governor of dreams, illusions, escapisms, and deception in the sign of Gemini. This powerful fusion zone peaked in May of 1892. However, given the long orbits of Neptune (165 years) and Pluto (248 years), their powerful congress influenced events from 1891-1895.
These two giants meet once every two centuries. One could argue that the imprint last left in the dualistic sign of Gemini still holds. And at this final phase of the Piscean Age, the metaphorical opposition of two fish becomes exacerbated whenever tensions pivot on mutable, dualistic Zodiac Signs. These represent opposing ideological groups.
Back in the 1890s when the dreamer met up with Pluto’s transformative powers in the air sign of Gemini imaginative inventions surged. These ranged from airplanes to cars to moving pictures. (The airplane became viable in 1903, the auto in 1885-1886, and early film technology began in the 1890s.)
Neptune, governor of the closing Age of Pisces, presents humanity with the fruit of long-held deceptions. Just as bio-genetically engineered food makes it impossible to separate the genuine from the substantial equivalent, when it comes to food for thought, few minds can discern actual truth from the pre-fabricated stories designed for public consumption (and mind control) by a highly sophisticated mass media. Like all good lies, what’s repeated often eventually is taken for what’s true. The premise was put into strategic operation by Joseph Goebbels who was born in 1897 just after Neptune merged with Pluto in Gemini, the sign of language and ideas.
To grasp this Final Phase of the Piscean Age is to look to two highly influential soul groups who came into embodiment when Neptune’s rays converged with those of Pluto. One set included highly advanced souls tasked with seeding the collective consciousness with expansive thought and metaphysical insights. Key figures from this group include Mary Baker Eddy (Founder of Christian Science), Charles and Myrtle Fillmore (Founders of Unity, a religious sect that reveals the Bible’s mystical truths), Yogananda (India’s spiritual sage destined to bring Eastern mysticism to the West), Edgar Cayce (America’s Sleeping Prophet and source of therapeutic remedies), along with notable artists, musicians, and visionaries.
Neptune’s merger with Pluto in Gemini gave rise to the film medium, a virtual liquid dream come to life. Years later Edward Bernays, nephew to Sigmund Freud, would introduce Madison Avenue to the fiscal wonders accrued from using this potent medium to shape the consciousness of the masses. Gemini’s salesmanship spell could manufacture desire itself and thereby lure viewers into purchasing an unlimited line of commercial products.
In accord with Gemini’s twin nature advanced souls interested in mankind’s spiritual evolution were not the only key group to come into embodiment during Gemini’s rare fusion zone. There was also that other twin, the face of the dark side. And its advocates would artfully deploy the art of deception in ways that would retard humanity’s spiritual progress.
Nazi propagandists like Goebbels and Goring were born during this era as were their American equivalents consisting of the Dulles brothers and J. Edgar Hoover (along with his faithful followers). After reading David Talbot’s enlightening book, The Devil’s Chessboard, I felt compelled to examine the chart of Allen Dulles. An Aries, born on April 7, 1893, Dulles’ signature planet Mars was literally sandwiched between Pluto (spy-craft) and Neptune (subterfuge). Few individuals wielded so powerful an impact over America’s foreign policy. Dulles’ legacy, along with that of the paranoid J. Edgar Hoover (head of the FBI) endure to this day.
Allen Dulles held a deep admiration for the Nazi party’s elites. He helped to engineer Project Paperclip, a program that covertly imported hundreds of Nazi researchers, scientists, and sociopaths into America’s military and academic institutions. Dulles was born proficient in the dubious art of double-speak. His collaboration with top Nazi brass was justified as means to an ends: that of strategic military advantages. Since Dulles proved instrumental to embedding Nazis into America’s academic, scientific, and military institutions, he inadvertently unleashed the unchecked influence of the same Military-Industrial Complex that Dwight Eisenhower presciently warned about when he left office in January 1961.
The Neptune-Pluto Gemini merger continues to influence the collective consciousness until the pair next meets again. The influence is utterly Manichean. That means it energizes a bifurcated worldview that pits good against evil without any need for shades of gray. A parallel contest between good and evil forms the context of The Bible. Modern citizens still grapple with centuries of indoctrination to its contradictory twin Testaments. After all, their anointed messages are antithetical. The Old Testament stresses punishment and accords with Saturn while the New Testament stresses faith and accords with Jupiter. Even The Course in Miracles strikes dualistic notes in asserting that only two perceptual choices exist: love or fear.
Mystic Edgar Cayce advised that each individual must choose ye which master ye shall serve. Cayce’s trance readings often focused on the story of Atlantis and its unfortunate demise. According to Cayce, a central dichotomy factored into Atlantis’ critical fate. Cayce explained that there were two types of individuals who resided on the lost continent during its final days. The marked differences in their worldviews catalyzed a huge polarizing force that fomented destruction and dissolution.
Cayce explained that enlightened Atlantean citizens adhered to The Law of One. They understood that all beings are related and part of Source. Christ’s teaching that: Whatsoever you do unto the least of these, you do unto me resonates with this principle of Oneness. However, there was another powerful sect of citizens who lived for self-advantage alone. This group was referred to as the Children of Belial. Perhaps the Atlantean rift is still with us.
Prior to Cayce’s death in the 1950s, he remarked that many Atlanteans would soon reincarnate in America and bring their knowledge of genetic engineering along with them. Evidence suggests that Cayce’s prediction has come true.
Our solar system’s current position may well replicate the one held during the time of Atlantis. It’s instructive to observe Pisces’ signature symbol: that of two fish moving in opposing directions. As the Age of Pisces draws to a close there is the all too real threat that sentient life may be wiped out due to atomic war. In that case the omen of two fishes splitting apart (atomic fission) would prove prophetic. True to Pisces’ inherent duality, there is also the chance that enough souls will transcend the ancient lines of division to arrive at a grand coalescence. Divine Reconciliation would be embraced at last!
Albert Einstein explained that no problem can be solved from the level of thinking that brought it about. For the past several thousand years beginning with the Age of Aries and its exaltation of Mars, god of war, brutal efforts were made to eradicate the Divine Feminine. Part of the process precluded women from holding positions of authority. The Feminine Side of Creation was kept away from all decision-making bodies. This process of exclusion led to a dominant martial mindset seen in both endless wars and the myriad social disorders framed under the rubric of war. Examples include: The War on Drugs, the War on Terrorism, The War on Poverty, the War on illiteracy, the War on Cancer, etc.
Clear proof that Mars is too much with us is found when we examine the amount of human treasure, time, and resources devoted to war, weapons, and soldiering. Imagine if instead of all this homage to Mars, the same investments were made in things Venus like peace studies, diplomacy, the arts, beautifying communities, and teaching pleasure instead of endless preparations for terrorism?
Returning to the subject of duality, we note that the human brain itself features two distinct hemispheres. Each one holds different complementary functions. Right brain sensibilities favor artistic expression, intuition, and the mystical sense of connection with all sentient beings while Left brain capacities favor math, science, and logic. To truly appreciate the marked distinctions, readers might wish to pick up Jill Bolte Taylor’s book, My Stroke of Insight.
Duality either leads to irreconcilable opposition or full integration. The latter is shown in the workings of our biological design code: DNA. Its double helixes are composed of an equal number of genetic components taken from each parent. The ancient Chinese I ching portrays this biological essence in depictions of Supreme Yang and Supreme Yin. Most, if not all oracle systems honor these twin complements.
Sadly, the understanding of this vital Yin-Yang balance has been lost to much of the Western world. In contrast, Indigenous People all over the globe worship the great Mother Goddess as Pacha Mama or Mother Nature. Western academia grants her neither reverence nor recognition.
The twin forces signifying Yang/male and Yin/female can be likened to the navigational properties of a boat. If oars on only one side of the vessel are operational, the boat has no recourse but to circle. In other words, it will not make any progress upstream. This analogy is important because it challenges key assertions about the human condition. One is that human nature is fixed. Another is that history inevitably repeats. With yet another insisting that human nature is aggressive and war thus inevitable.
Would these assumptions hold if both oars--which is to say equal input from males and females in all institutions that direct and inform our lives—were fully utilized? I think not.
The ideological legacy left by Neptune-Pluto’s forces melding in Gemini more than a century ago takes us back to this idea of our twin nature. And it ties in with this Final Phase of the Piscean Age.
In power today, particularly within the heavily armed U.S.A are those who think the problem of duality can be solved by creating a massive world war, an Armageddon designed to establish the one true God. Known as Dominionists, these deluded soldiers of faith believe that spreading violence by making war on followers of Islam (which they regard as a false faith) comports with God’s will. Tragically, there are millions of deluded souls who think this way.
Famed Jungian psychologist Carl Jung explained that what’s disowned in ourselves ends up projected onto others as The Shadow. When military-run societies target scapegoat populations, they put this premise to use in an effective yet diabolical manner.
That brings us to the present where a preponderance of Gemini individuals currently wield power. Donald Trump, born June 14, 1946 chose Gemini Mike Pence (born June 7, 1959) to serve as his Vice President. Henry Kissinger, long an influence over America’s foreign policy is also a Gemini (born on May 27, 1923). Trump shows sympathy for Arizona’s most notoriously racist sheriff, Joe Arpaio, who’s another Gemini born on June 14, 1932. Then there is the Gemini who would qualify as serial killer were private mercenary armies not given the respect they currently incur due to a love of all things Mars-ruled. Erik Prince, owner of the guns-for-hire operation formerly known as Blackwater, is born on June 6, 1969. He self-identifies as a Christian yet makes it his life purpose to annihilate persons who don’t believe in his god. Newt Gingrich, one of The Conservative movement’s most enduring influences is also a Gemini born on June 17, 1943.
Gemini’s twins resonate with the Manichean worldview. Hardly surprising that the son of former President George Bush, sr. (A Gemini born on June 12, 1924) would promote—as global policy--the idea of being with us or against us. Those words dramatically inflamed existing global divisions.
Evil exists in our world. However, it is never quelled by sending in armies which spread calamitous harm. As a matter of fact, the Ancient Chinese examined the problem of evil thousands of years ago and came up with a time-tested solution. In Kua (hexagram) #43, the I ching explains that any direct fight with evil typically entails taking up evil’s own methods. Proof is seen in the modern War on Terror. The U.S. (along with its NATO allies) has decimated several Middle East nations (Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Libya, etc.). The tragic destruction of local infrastructure leaves countless people dead, thousands of grieving widows and orphans, and an ever-expanding refugee population. Wars purportedly against terrorism have done nothing to solve the problem. They bleed resources that could otherwise improve the lives of civilians while breeding nothing but destruction and lasting contempt.
The I ching further conveys that the best way to counter evil is to make energetic progress in the good. In other words, imagine if all the trillions wasted on militarism were instead used to fortify regions with organic farms, windmills for energy sources, schools, and medical facilities? By embracing the tools of warfare, inflammation spreads. Mass killing can never remedy injustice!
One of the most enlightening speeches ever offered at The United Nations took place in l949 when world leaders still bruised from the after-effects of world War II, listened to wise words imparted by India’s prophet, Yogananda. He explained that organized forms of aggression send disruptive energies into the ethers. These disrupt the energetic systems that hold the natural world and weather systems in place. He made it patently clear that warfare leads to earthquakes, storms, droughts, floods, and other violent weather/climate effects.
Today, the spread of warfare may well contribute to violent expressions of climate chaos.
Mars, the god of war, governs the sign of Aries. The ram tends to rush in without considering the costs involved. Those taught to identify with militarism view every event through the warrior mindset. They are unable to check their course. Due to hubris, when faced with evidence that challenges their agendas, they typically double-down.
It’s time for humanity to transcend the mindset that makes war inevitable. Astrology’s blueprint of twelve equally divine archetypes provides a therapeutic means to that ends.
Retaining an attachment to violent ends justify the means practices will not save mankind from a dark fate. It invites Pisces’ two fish to split apart just when it’s time for Divine Reconciliation. As the I ching explains, no one can oppose evil by embracing deadly, diabolical tools. To make energetic progress into the good is what metaphysical author Emmet Foxx explains as building new mental equivalents.
Given patriarchy’s long history of wars, human beings hold few mental equivalents for peace or gender parity. In contrast, the dark glamor of destruction has been celebrated in movies, parades, speeches, and songs for centuries.
Remember: The best antidote for Mars, god of war being too much with us is investment in things resonant with Venus… and that includes Love.
There is a Divine order to things. The Zodiac blueprint begins with Aries where fire activates the seed of sentient life. It proceeds to Taurus, where the spark of life must root itself in earth in order to grow. Next the seed sends shoots upwards in order to read the atmosphere. This contact with air introduces Gemini, the Zodiac’s third sign. Last to emerge is water. Yet it is water that opens the human experience to feelings. Gemini’s position is yet to experience empathy, compassion, or what it means to be other.
Gemini figures run the risk of viewing the world in narrow terms of black and white. Some believe that they can kill for peace. Some turn their backs away from precipitous climate destabilization and its manmade causes. Others identify with the Pro-Life movement as it wages war on women’s rights. They fear what genuine equality would mean to the existing power structures, the ones that have lent privilege to a relatively small number of persons at great expense to all others.
Perhaps the duality that marks the Zodiac’s mutable signs, most notably Gemini and Pisces speaks to the schism between the twin genders. Imagine if half of DNA’s double helix attacked the other half, or if the left half of the human brain attacked the right half?
The fact that women are still fighting for basic human rights shows that the great balance which life depends upon is yet to be achieved. It’s important to understand the metaphysical implications of this asymmetry. For one thing, since the dawn of patriarchy, the greater a society’s identification with war, the greater its efforts to suppress women and their sovereign rights. Author Riane Eisler makes this case profoundly in her book, The Chalice and the Blade.
The warrior mindset conditions people to view life not only in competitive terms, but also as winner takes all. As the French economist Thomas Piketty concluded, wealth is being consolidated into fewer and fewer hands. The rise in globalism has resulted in American and European workers competing against third world workers for the same jobs. Various political pundits have linked the rise of fascism in different regions of the world to the declining incomes of white male workers.
These angry white males tend to vent hostility towards women and persons of color. They see these others as taking their jobs. Economic models based on scarcity lead to divisive competitiveness. The Zero Sum game assumes that any gain to one group means loss to another.
However, there are better ways to design economic systems as well as societies. A non-hierarchical model that would better serve humanity is found in the Zodiac’s Circle. An embedded Sacred Geometry points the way to reconciliation between any oppositional pairs. Furthermore, polarity excites each partner to fully express its particular Light Hue. One’s illumination does not require that the other be stamped out.
At this final phase of the Piscean Age, Divine Reconciliation calls for the full radiance of the whole. That means transcending those tensions exacerbated by oppositional pairs. It also calls for each of the 12 quintessential tribes to express its unique qualities in accord with its Divine Design. For the Aquarian Age to generate a truly new paradigm, individuals must no longer conform to prior one size fits all norms. Insistence on uniformity insults Creation while inhibiting the full spectrum of expressions that human beings are heir to as members of the Divine Circle.
The best antidote for Gemini’s Manichean world-view is the Zodiac. Its Divine Design is a work of intricate balance. We are not all made in the image and likeness of Mars, god of war! To expand the notion of what it means to be human is to honor the four elements. That means acknowledging the uniqueness of fire signs’ boundless creativity, earth signs’ pragmatism, air sign’s mental acuity and inventiveness, and water signs’ deep emotional sentience. The 4 elements reflect the Great Balance in that fire and air are Yang while water and earth are Yin.
The Masculine can no longer demand that The Feminine conform to its standards. It’s time for genuine partnership, a Divine marriage between the twin halves of creation. Such an understanding, if widely embraced, would sanctify the birth of Aquarius, The Age. After all, with Leo, heart of the Zodiac serving as Aquarius’ polarity (and Divine complement), Love is vital to the current Age Phase Transition. Without it, the future may well become dominated by trans-humanism where robot-machines, computers, and virtual reality replace all that is real, natural, and human.
The expansion of human thought leads to wider tolerance which makes love possible. And it is Love that heals divisions and makes the Great Coalescence not only possible, but inevitable! Although key leaders may be stuck in the old divisive paradigm, every sentient soul has the opportunity to choose Love. It is the best medicine for healing what is broken and drawing together what hath been torn asunder.
