Biography
Italian journalist and son of a noted journalist. He has been a special guest writer in Italian newspapers, and was the director of a highly discussed TV production, "Combat Zone," 1994.
Starting on the editorial staff of "La Stampa" in 1970, Zucconi has been a correspondent in Rome, Moscow, Paris and the U.S. From 1986-1992 he was head of the American office of "la Repubblica" specializing in international politics and at present contributes weekly to the magazine "L’Espresso" with his own column, "America, America." Zucconi is the recipient of numerous awards including the Trento National Prize for journalism in 1987 and the Max David for the Special Correspondent of the Year in 1988. He received a degree in modern history from the University of Milan and is married to Alisa Tibaldi, with two kids.
