Biography

Scottish-Australian musician, a rhythm guitarist with the rock group "AC/DC." His brother Angus is also a guitarist with the group. AC/DC debuted in 1973 at Chequers Club in Sydney, Australia; recorded a group record in July of that year and the original members disbanded shortly after that. After a relocation to Melbourne by the Young brothers, the band recruited new members from the group's roadies and a contract was signed with Albert Productions in 1974. In 1976 they signed with Atlantic Records and relocated to the UK.

The group began numerous European and U.S. tours, highlighted by the death of band member Bon Scott by alcohol poisoning 2/20/1980, numerous chart hits, millions of dollars in income from concerts and records, the alienation and acceptance of band members, the death of band member David Gregory, 11/11/1990 and the death of three teenage fans during a concert "crush" at a performance in Salt Lake City, UT., 1/18/1991.
