Biography

American film producer, the winner of more than 100 awards. In TV, he is known for his production of "Roots" and "The Thorn Birds." By the '90s, he was turning over the reigns of his work to his son, giving his most passion to improving his game of golf. Married twice, he had two sons and a daugher.

He died on August 10, 2010 at his Beverly Hills, CA home. The cause given was congestive heart failure and complications of Parkinson's disease.
