Biography
American writer, one of the pioneering playwrights off Broadway in the early '60s who survived and won public acceptance for his 30 plays written in less that 20 years. Following a childhood of poverty, he had a first commercial hit in 1972 with "The Hotel Baltimore." "Talley's Folly," earned him a Pulitzer Prize in 1980.
