Biography
American writer; Wilson is also founder of Seal Press. A lesbian and a feminist, her heroines are usually strong, witty, adventurous and intelligent. She has written mysteries, novels, and published short-story collections.
Her novel "Gaudi Afternoon" which was made into a feature film, was awarded the Crime Writers Association Award and Lambda Literary Award in 1991. Another novel, "Blue Windows" won the Lambda Literary Award and was a nominee for PEN Center USA West, in 1997.
She co-founded Seal Press in support of women authors and founded "Women in Translation: which translated the writing of women who are exiled or marginalized.
