Biography

American rock musician who, along with her sister, Nancy, were leaders of the group, "Heart." When the group originally debuted in 1972, all of the music magazines made a big fuss about them because they were women playing rock. By the '80s, women in rock became more common.

The big hits of "Heart" include "Magic Man," 1976 "Straight On," 1978, "Never," 1985 and the LP's "Dreamboat Annie," 1975, "Little Queen," 1977 and "Passion Works," 1983. In addition to being the leader of the group, Ann plays guitar, piano and flute.

In 2002, Ann Wilson, one of the sisters in the rock band Heart, lost 50 lbs. after having surgery that helped limit how much she could eat.
