Biography
Australian world famous aviator and arctic explorer who made a thrilling and dangerous trip across the North Pole in an airplane. On 4/15/1928 he began his trip of over 2200 miles at a speed of 120 mph, landing in a raging 70 mph blizzard. He was knighted by the King of England for his many deeds in promotion of science and literature, including his famed North Pole trip.
Wilkins died on 12/01/1958, Framingham, MA.
