Biography
American politician, lawyer and author. Prior to entering politics, he was a business executive. Wilkie's political career was unusual, inasmuch as he rose to prominence without the Party machine, becoming the Republican presidential candidate in 1940. He authored "One World" in 1943.
Wilkie died in 1944.
