Biography
American child prodigy who knew his alphabet at 18 months and was reading by the age of three. By the time he was eight he was reading Darwin and Huxley and he left high school in 1906 for college to study philosophy. Two years prior, at the age of ten, he was ready to attend Harvard, but he was barred because of his age. Fond of sports, he was a good swimmer.
