Biography
American screenwriter and actor; son of Reverend Mel White, a noted author, pastor and gay rights activist.
His breakthrough film, independent film "Chuck and Buck" a comedy-drama, which he wrote and acted in, won him a 2000 "Best Male Performance" Award at the Deauville Film Festival and a nomination in the same category at the 2000 American Spirit Awards.
After graduation from Wesleyan, he moved to Los Angeles, pursuing a career as a writer. After two unsuccessful years, he was hired as a writer and producer for the Warner Brothers' drama series "Dawson's Creek" which made its debut in 1998
He then moved on in 1999 to another teen-centered TV show, Freaks and Geeks, where he was producer and occasional writer. On screen he has played Buck O'Brien in "Chuck and Buck" as well as a supporting role in "Star Maps."
