American entrepreneur, inventor and manufacturing genius who patented 400 inventions and organized 60 companies in his lifetime, including the Westinghouse Electric Company. At age 15, while working in his father's machine shop, he completed his first invention, a rotary engine. He was elected to the Inventor's Hall of Fame in 1955.
Died on 3/12/1914, New York City, NY.
LMR quotes Francis E. Leupp, "George Westinghouse," 1919, p.8. "He came at twenty minutes past eleven [AM]". (Same in Sabian Symbols No.958. Biography: H.G. Garbedian, "George Westinghouse," 1943, describes on p.6 that his dad came home from work when a neighbor met him to announce that he had a new baby boy, his 7th child.")
As Wayne Turner pointed out, it is likely that local apparent time (LAT) was still used, which he corrects to 11:08 am LMT.
