Biography
British actor known for masterful performances in which he portrayed such historic figures as Churchill, Stalin and Edward VII. He comes across as being sincere and determined with his pugnacious jaw. West was a slow starter and began in the theater as an assistant stage manager at the Wimbledon Theatre in 1956 before doing repertory theater. He married actress Prunella Scales.
