Biography
American ecclesiastic, Reverend father in the Roman Catholic church. He was the third of ninth priests ousted from his post in February 2002 in the exploding scandal of priests who had sexually abused the youth in their care. The Rev Welsh has been accused by three brothers, now adults, of sexual abuse ranging over a 20 year period beginning in the mid-70s. Ordained in 1968, he has been pastor of the Abington parish since 1997.
