Biography
American astrologer, head of a New York school and specialist in financial astrology. In March 2002, the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) imposed a $15,000 fine and a public censure on Henry Weingarten, a high-profile Wall Street market astrologer with a strong knack for touting stocks of notorious Mafia-linked career fraudster Edward Durante, and other non-Durante [issues ?]. According to the SEC's original press release on the case, it was a $30 million scam. There are a total of six press releases in his case. The first one, dated 10/12/01, outlines the entire scam case against 14 defendants, including Weingarten. It is: www.sec.gov/litigation/litreleases/lr17177.htm
The final one on the settlement is at

"Mr. Weingarten, who also uses conventional research techniques, says astrology is a great tool for timing the market. But other influences can come into play, too.
After being given 250,000 shares of U.N. Dollars, the over-the-counter stock of an Astrologers Fund client, Mr. Weingarten started recommending it in his weekly newsletter in January 2000 and bought $75,000 of the shares for his clients' portfolios. That inspired earthly intervention by the Securities and Exchange Commission, to which he paid a $15,000 fine to settle a complaint
in March, without admitting or denying wrongdoing."
