Biography
American politician who served as a U.S. Senator, beginning in 1928, and was re-elected in 1934, 1940 and 1946. In 1945 he served as the American representative at the U.N. Conference in San Francisco and, the following year, as a U.S. delegate to the Paris Peace Conference. Throughout his career he was active in molding U.S. foreign policy. In 1950, however, he retired due to illness.
Vandenberg died on 4/10/1955, Grand Rapids, MI
