Biography
Flemish painter who gained fame for the many portraits he painted of the Flemish, Italian and English societies of his time. In addition, he painted many religious, and some mythological pictures. As the son of a rich silk dealer, he began as an artist at the age of 16 and a painter of the British court in 1632 as well.
