Biography
Italian-Canadian musician, a guitarist most notable for his contributions to Mandala, The James Gang, The Guess Who and as a solo artist.
His family moved from Italy to Canada when he was three (1949). He pursued his love for music by learning how to play guitar, at first playing locally in groups. His reputation grew; in 1967 he and the other members of Mandala released "Opportunity." A year later they released their first album, "Soul Crusade." He released his solo album, "Dominic Troiano," in 1972; it would be the first of six solo productions. Troiano was inducted into the Canadian Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame 1996.
After a ten-year battle with the disease, he died of prostate cancer on May 25, 2005 in Toronto.
