Biography
British-American actor-comedian of stage, film and TV. Immigrating to the U.S. in 1926, he appeared in a number of revues and Broadway plays before switching to film. He was soon typecast in Hollywood as the perfect butler, a role that he played with great character and familiarity.
Trained for a career in law, he turned to acting on the London stage after completing his military service during WW I. Modest, witty and entertaining, Treacher performed in over 30 films and was successful in some radio work as well. He died 12/14/1975 , Manhasset, NY.
