Biography
American football player, a quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner in December 1992 from the U. of Miami. Often cited as an example of the Heisman curse, he has not fared well in the NFL, bounding around from team to team as a backup. Torretta got a break when his former UM coach, Dennis Erickson, put him in for the Seattle Seahawks on 12/22/1996, c. 1:15 PM PST, Oakland, CA - the third game of the season. Torretta led the Seahawks to a 28-21 victory at 4:33 PM PST.
