Biography

Italian ecclesiastic, a Roman Catholic priest, Monsignor, and spiritual advisor to Pope John Paul II. He is often interviewed on TV as a spokesman of the Holy See. Tonini was ordained a priest 4/18/1937, bishop of Macerata and Tolentino in 1975 and archbishop of Ravenna-Cervia since October 1990.
