Talk:Holmes, John

There are some issues concerning the birth data on John Holmes. According to a biography, "John Holmes: A Life Measured in Inches" by Jennifer Sugar and Jill C. Nelson (Bear Manor Media 2008) Holmes was born at home in rural Pickaway Co. Ohio. This is verified by a "corrected" version of his birth certificate that was printed in the book. This B.C does not provide a time but it does say the place of birth was Pickaway Co, not Columbus. Pickaway Co. is not that far from Columbus but if the birth did not take place in a hospital then we can't count on the standard time (War Time in 1944) being observed. Also, according to Doris Doane Chase's "Time Changes in the USA" Columbus (the largest city near Pickaway Co.) did not go on War Time but used Central Time during WW II.The biography by Sugar and Nelson mentions that another, hand-written birth certificate exists. This may be the one that Steinbrecher referred to.
