The birth date 6 Jan 1938 is for sure an error: California Birth Index has the date 5th Jan 1938. In the book Bing Crosby, Day by Day by Malcolm Macfarlane (2001) he gives a chronological timeline with hours! – to such details that I never saw in any other chronology book. No doubt that the author devoted much time and the best sources for his mammoth chronology. On 5 Jan 1938 he wrote: "Wednesday. Bing and Dixie's fourth son, Lindsay Harry is born at 4.35 a.m. at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital, weighing in at six pounds five ounces. My rectification is 4.33.34 a.m, only 1m 26s earlier. Someone should check again the BC: my hunch is that it is a typo.
