Biography
Japanese-born singer for the influential 70's-era German underground rock group, CAN for three years beginning in 1970. After what he called a "creative break" that lasted ten years, he resurfaced on the music scene. During the hiatus, he dealt with a diagnosis of cancer, and surgery. A Jehovah's Witness by religion, he says the medical crisis and treatment changed his life. In his live performances he prefers "instant composing" or improvising, a feat he accomplishes with energy and originality.
