Biography
French politician, education minister under Charles DeGaulle until late September 1962 when he resigned as a protest against a proposed amendment to the French constitution stipulating that French Presidents would be henceforth elected by popular vote. He had served in the DeGaulle administration beginning in 1952. During WWII, Sudreau was a Resistance worker; arrested, he was deported to Buchenwald.
Sudreau's father died when Pierre was four years old. It is said that he was the inspiration for St. Exupery's Little Prince.
